    These have been such a blast of nostalgia for me. I hate that newer "action figures" have little movable parts and super cheap quality, vs growing up with our G.I Joes that could move everything and take a beating. ive printed 3 so far and want to just keep printing more for no reason other reason than the joy of it. lol

    This is like printing your own Gundam! It would be awesome to have different kinds of armor/outer shells like maybe a storm trooper! Also I wonder if you print the frame in TPU if it would work better? Some Gundam parts use a rubber type material in the joints.

    • @AluminiumPanda6
      @AluminiumPanda6 4 месяца назад +1

      I've wondered that too - I used to have those toys he mentioned, "Stikfas" and the issue was the joints would wear out super quick because they were a hard plastic. But my old Gundams that saw WAY more play still hold up pretty well due to the more rubbery joints.

    • @MikeTheGamer77
      @MikeTheGamer77 4 месяца назад +3

      @@AluminiumPanda6 Its not so much that the joints wore out. The big issue was how thin the walls of the sockets were/are. Also, as the plastic got very brittle over time, it was extremely easy to snap the socket, making them useless. Its fine for any you might find that are already put together but I would avoid any that aren't, unfortunately. Also, the ones made and packaged later were made with a different plastic. For example, the blue duelist or the red succubus. And, oddly enough, many of the clear versions, like the clear knight, have held up fairly well.

It doesn't have that many problems when I print the parts individually, but when I try to print the runner the initial small lines pull up when moving between the parts. I've thoroughly cleaned the build plate but I keep having problems. Idk if it has to do with my retraction settings or something else. I also keep having the first few mm curl up. On large prints this doesn't seem to cause much problems but on smaller pieces it does. I'm printing on a Neptune 4 Plus
