Three grand slams, two Olympic golds,Davis cup winner, various other wins world no1 and a knighthood,he was in an era with the three best ever players and beat them all, fantastic player Murray is
Murray has great hands at the net also. His volley is fantastic. As is his block backhand service return, taking time away from the server. Iron will, and a never say die attitude, and a very very high tennis IQ, great shot selection etc. Plenty to discuss!
Murray was a very good hardcourt player. People forget. He used to beat Federer a lot and lead their head to head for most of their careers. I always felt a bit sorry for Andy’s many losses at the Australian Open. He deserved one title. His backhand was one of the best on tour. I always felt his forehand wasn’t as strong and his second serve was poor.
Wouldn't say plagued, just one absolutely horrendous injury. He's been relatively injury free, other than the occasional niggle, up until that point. It was always the big 4, it was always Murray, Djokovic, Nadal and Federer reaching the semi finals/ finals of tournaments for years.
@@Revolver1981 The back surgery was very minor and barely if at all inhibited him afterwards. It was literally they just shaved a tiny bit of bone off a vertebrae. His wrist problems were very early on in his career, and were caused by putting too much weight in his racquet which was again easily solved.
@@ben4190 No actually it inhibited him for about a year. He wasn't the same player afterwards. He didn't win another title for nearly a year and that's when Djokovic got a lot of wins against him. He's also had problems with his knees throughout his life.
@@Revolver1981 Wasn't the same player afterwards? Good! Because that not the same player went on to win many more titles, GS's and be No.1, but that's besides the point. Which player hasn't had tough times? Djokovic had his elbow, and other weird stuff no one really understands, Federer also had bad knees which ultimately ended his career. Nadal also has had knee issues which have actually stopped him playing where as Murray it hasn't, let alone Nadals foot, that's what I call being plagued with injury. saying Murray was plagued with injury his entire career is completely unfair and untrue which is the point I'm making. By the way, his knees are a symptom of when he was born, the knee joint bones were fused together, and it's actually hardly effected him, I wouldn't even call it an injury.
Murray at wimbledon in his prime was a bad match up for novak i mean who else has beaten novak consistently there in straight set's (Did the same to novak in the olympics)
Murray has more HC titles than Nadal, more Carpet titles, more Grass titles! Murray has won a ATP Finals title, Nadal hasn’t. Murray has 2 Olympic Golds vs. Nadal only one! 😉
Nadal has more HC grand slam titles than Murray (6 against 2). Murray has never beaten Nadal on grass (3 losses at Wimbledon). Last bu not least, Murray will be the first to admit that Nadal is the better player.
Ridiculous to talk about them as up and comers as late as USO2012 😅 Novak had just come off one of the most dominant seasons of all time in 2011, was the world n1, had won the AO earlier that year and had 5 slams already. Murray was no slouch either, 4 slam finals including a narrow loss at wimbledon and an Olympic Gold medal a month prior.
What would anyone gain from this reasoning? Are you one of those always saying he fakes all his injures for some reason? Cause there is no gain from that either
Murray has won all grandslams right including french...He just don't want relate or compare with Nadal and fed becos they are friends competitors but for him to be a friend
Couple of questions: 1. How do you know Novak is being honest? Did you ask him before your "interview"? 2. Nadal has won way more Majors than Murray, so how could Novak conclude Murray is better? You gotta stop with the clickbait if you want more subscribers.
What a dumb comment! Where do you f@cktards come from? Jeez! 😂 Murray has more HC titles than Nadal, more Carpet titles, more Grass titles! Murray has won a ATP Finals title, Nadal hasn’t. Murray has 2 Olympic Golds vs. Nadal only one! Also, unlike Clayday, Murray hasn’t used PEDs and TUEs in his career and never did get favorable draws! 🤫
Novak would have not been the best one ever if Andy could have continued with no injuries, he was the direct rival of Novak in hard and the one for Roger in grass.... for clay... is a different story.
lol novak is just lucky rafa that is injured his whole career and roger got old thats why he will be statistly the best but he has the worst win rate against top players not like rafa who has a lot better stats against every single top player
Novak never said that. It’s just a thumbnail to get you to click on the video. Nevertheless, while not better than Nadal, Murray is still a great player who deserves respect.
actually, in all atp and gs finals combined, none of the other 3 have a better h2h ag Murray. I think Murray is equal with Nadal and DJ and 1 better than Federer.

I remember when I was 10 and 11 waking up so early to watch him play at the Australian Open final. Still think to this day if only haha
I find myself respecting Djokovich more, his game has always been a high level just I'm now seeing more of his personality
The reason that Novak has so much respect for Murray is because Novak is a very respectful man.......
MURRAY + NOVAK what a dream team in 2025
Murray has been plagued by injuries that is the only reason there isnt “the great four”, but just “the great three”.

Murray definately holds the record on lost GS finals - lots of them at AO against Nole. Lucky Nole ;)
Really well said 👍🏻
Nadal relying on short points? You truly know nothing
Medvedev seems to be the new Murray, both are great champ.
