Katy Perry has flopped everytime she tried to do more social commentary in her songs. Roar is the closest she got but I wouldn't really consider that commentary. She's good about writing fun or sad song about herself, her life and her own emotions. I don't think she knows how to do something else. And it just feels so tryhard and fake everytime she keeps at it.
I just don’t understand why Katy approved of that mv. Like why? It doesn’t make any sense to the lyrics. I’m all for women wanting to be sexually liberated but that mv was clearly directed by a man who views women as objects.
