Legit work. Be careful and always good work💪☺👍
Thanks!
Love the video man…. I am taking it all in💯..
Thanks Bro!
Good video for sure this definitely help me a lot on seeing how they secure these particular loads right here. Thank you for the video. These reels is one thing I would hate to deal with I can tell and I never done flatbed but if it pays good whatever I guess lol.
Yeah man. I was nervous as hell my self. But I won’t be doing this a lot
Good job! brother 👊 always Positive 👍
Thanks man!
Very interesting very cool
You get a chance, get some rubber skid mats (steel/aluminum coil plants) reels/coils use beveled 4×4/6×6 dunnage with steel racks (short ones) aluminum racks (long ones) if you do steel or aluminum coils use coil cuffs or the edge protection so as not to damage the coils, tarp. I used my chains from the outer edge of stake box, under the box to the coil, you get the whole rated weld for that securement position, I also use hook to hook with the ratchet binder hooked to chains with the slack taken out. If there are spools box spools on your trailer rub rail, you go from the outer edge of box, under box, to spool back to load. Sometimes you can't depending on the weight/size of the coil/spool. Remember in flatbedding, there is no such things as enough securement. Over is better than watching that coil say adios off your trailer into the front windshield of the car behind you. Some skateboarders will say "you can get away" with this amount or that amount, you're just one curve/overpass from meeting dark karma. When you use your straps, hook to trailer frame through the rub rail. Don't hook and loop at the rub rail, defeats the purpose of the rub rail protecting your chain/straps in a side swipe accident. Metal Transportation Covered Wagon, Hunt Transportation Flat/Step/RGN, Newco, Double drop, Hubach, Step/Flat. Keep the positive vibes.👊😎
Thank you for sharing and our time. I needed this tutorial. God Bless
Glad it was helpful!
The best satisfaction you can have is when you see it off your trailer!! The second satisfaction is when you lock down a load!
I currently hold a CDL for 7 years thinking of Joining the Hotshot business soon and future transfer to a big rig!
Keep up the great content!
Hell yeah man its a great feeling! That’s awesome bro, I’m in the process of getting my CDL. Definitely a lot more options with it. Thanks for the feedback and support!
Good job my Brother!!!!
Thanks 🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing the video, I learned a lot with the video and comments shared by the RUclips family
Thanks 🙏🏽 appreciate that!
Always wondered how they got those reels on and off nice thanks!
It’s not the video quality, its the quality of the content..Yours is great! Keeping it reel! Be safe out there.
Thanks bro! Appreciate that
Good Vid bro. Keep posting'
🔥💪🏽
Binder same like mine good job
Hey Man. Do you color grade your videos? Looks like your camera was in D-Cinelike. I’m a RUclipsr as well and film that way and bring in my color in post. It’s more work but I like how it allows me to tune the colors manually especially since the majority of my stuff is outdoors.
Just wanted to give a big shout out to your channel... I really enjoy your content and I am looking to start hot shotting part time in December. Your videos really paint a picture for what I’m stepping into and as a contact creator I can appreciate the time you put into to get these angles. Keep up the good work brother. I’m sure I will pick your brain from time to time…DanFromSavannah
You the man. Had to learn this for my loads with HOTSHOT 107.
🫡🫡💯💯
Look at Macc, only thing you are missing are coil racks bro. Put them down then the dunnage. Good job bro, keep going!
Ay boss I know it’s been awhile but do you remember if your truck had a lot of bounce? I just picked up my first reel. Heading from H-Town to Wyoming. Thanks again and keep it up bro.
I didn’t have a lot of bounce. Just depends on where you place your loads
You should use coil racks under the dunnage, if no coil racks, then nail them with blocks in front and behind the dunnage. I personally would never put straps on dunnage to hold a reel down.
Cool! Can we get a little more information on the paper work? 📃
Do you just lay the DuPage down and let the load secure it or do you have to nail it down to the trailor
what is that pole called?
Well hello I am I'm Columbia! Hoped you went passed a good part of Columbia it's really nice here
Yeah I did. It was beautiful
I’ll be getting into the game soon.
🙏🏽💪🏽💯
I have my maintenance guys weld a shepherds hook on the pole and it’s easier to pull the chain’s through vs. pushing. Good video. One other thing to add, if you add coil racks it would be more secure and no need to use straps.
Great tip! Thanks bro!
No problem! Keep on trucking, be safe
First comment ahhh, Dímelo jibaro 💪💪

@@joser.8166 muchas gracias, yo estoy en Houston TX, de hecho conozco a Macc y su esposa son tremendas personas y súper humildes.
Haha 😂 !!! Jibaro 💥 power over here!!!!!! Gracias 🙏🏽
Yo Mac do you think a 14gn big Tex 25+5 with mega ramps a good non cdl trailer setup? That’s all I can find in IL
Yeah that’s not bad if your if it’s gonna get you on the road sooner than later.
Man I really wanna make the switch to hotshot n get out this semi 😩 I wanna start doing pulling campers first then transition..
Yea I hear a lot of people doing that. If you don’t have a trailer that’s a good way to start. Good luck
A bit of advice, if you are worry about rolling forwards under hard braking or stopping , put a 4th chain pulling backwards, ..
Thanks for that advice!
That sounded like Mr. Safety Art Clark at the end of that video 😊
lol
Only reason I knew that trick is from experience. We use this to get the chain through wheel loader buckets.
Experience is everything man!

🔥
Did you get all new stuff after your ride was broken into yet
Brother ,keep grinding
Working on it!

I start hotshot on Monday. 5 years dry van tractor trailer combination experience but no flatbed load securement experience at all. I feel lost. I hope they just dont throw me out there by myself. Its for a small company of 4 drivers i will be the 5th
That’s what’s up bro but maybe attending a securement class would help if you have no securement experience. Most of these companies just throw you out there unfortunately. But if your a driver I would hope they train you first.
@@HotshotMacc yes I'm a driver and I've pretty much learned myself as I go. Its not too complicated
Do you have to know how tall your load is for clearance or do most of your loads be under the clearance height?
Ive never had a load that had a clearance issue but it’s good to know in case you come across a low clearance bridge just to be safe.
@@HotshotMacc Thanks so much :)
What gps are you using? Maybe a gps review?
Google maps/garmin. Good idea bro! Thanks 🙏🏽
What is you max load with your set up
11k but I try not to go over 9k
What size trailer do you have? What do you recommend for a 3/4 hotshot?
This is the trailer I have ruclips.net/video/w7a4u32mWDY/видео.html. Anything below 6,500 lbs between 30-40ft. Make sure your length is not more than 65ft combined
Alright thanks man. Looking at a 14 GN 28+5 and a 2021 Ram 2500 crew cab.
Thanks for the info.
That’s what’s up bro
If the chains don't hold, the 4 X 4's won't do any more than the 2 X 4's. For cable reels and large tanks I have some 2 X 10's that I ripped down the middle at a 45 degree angle making 2 X 5's with beveled edges. I keep deck screws and a cordless drill and just screw the boards to the deck.
thats what i was just thinking of screwing the boards in
@@imbrasi4372 And when I unload, I don't have to secure the boards...they aren't going anywhere!
I hear you and great ideas. But I don’t do reels enough to keep that equipment on me.
@@HotshotMacc I only carry them for reels or tanks. My situation is a little different as I take care of my Mom so I have to be home every night. For a more secure bulkhead (the way you used the 4 X 4), use a chain and binder the same way you would store your dunnage on the deck.
What's the length of the chains?
5/16 20ft chain
How much does the load weigh?
5,100
Do you need the M endorsement on your license? I have a tractor license..
For the set up I have it’s non-Cdl
How much did that reel pay
$2,000
Your camera shoots in a SLOG profile if its a Sony Camera. Just take it off SLOG in you profiles.
Man thanks for that advice! I had no clue, I tried researching the best camera settings but never heard of SLOG.
Rule of thumb, you can never over-secure a load!
Facts 🔥🙏🏽
Did the other guy with 6 rules get six times the money?
Didn’t ask, but Most likely lol
Chain usage depends entirely on weight of the reel or coil you're hauling.
Yes!
Chains only at our plant…. Straps aren’t going to hold a coil in a collision.
