Sounds great and not bad with the auto. The only Z car I ever owned was a 1994 Twin Turbo and I loved it, wish I has kept it, so maybe it is time to get back into a Z. Hopefully it does not have as much road noise at the last Z I drove for a couple of weeks, which was an automatic 2016 370Z, as that and the really bad gas mileage were my only two real complaints. The mileage was only marginally better than my old 2nd gen RX7.
@@simonriley983 Mainly I just decided to go electric and I'm waiting for delivery of my Model 3 Performance, hopefully later this month. But aside from that, the Q was a good car for the most part. I had a number of issues with mine that had to be repaired under warranty, if I didn’t have warranty I probably would’ve spent $6-8k in repairs, maybe more. If you’re looking at one, I would definitely advise getting a CPO car…don’t pay list price. MSRP is way overpriced, but as a used car it’s a pretty good value. Mine was a CPO car. Honestly there was a lot to like about it but it has a number of flaws that are well documented… Primarily a slow (“thuds” into gear, the regular 3.0t is better) dimwitted transmission, so so materials quality for the class and a noisy (on the freeway, in town was fine) and harsh ride (at lower speeds, better at highway speeds)…a lot of people think the ride is just fine but it just never felt as well sorted as my BMW did or any of the Audis that I’ve driven. These are definitely the most glaring flaws. Again, some people are totally fine with it and get triggered whenever someone mentions it but I came out of a F30 BMW 335I M sport with the ZF8, so the Jatco transmission felt pretty sloppy in comparison. All things considered, I basically made a conscientious choice to focus on the things I liked about the car and I kept it for three years but compared with pretty much anything else in the class, it has a fantastic engine, a great looking body and very comfortable seats but dynamically and in terms of refinement it lags behind everything. In the three years I owned mine, I had to replace driver side CV axle, complete steering rack and tie rods, tensioner pulley, two or three window switches due to chrome peeling off, and I know there was more but those are the things I recall off hand. The steering rack job was over $4K alone. Each of these issues required multiple dealer visits and convincing the techs something wasn't right. Dealer service was honestly pretty bad. Sorry if that’s not what you were hoping to hear, just being honest. I spent a lot of time in Reddit forums too and it seems like most people had a better experience than I did, but mine was far from a honeymoon. * Oh yeah and that all happened in about 30k miles, car had 58k on it when I sold it.
@@mTwMarco When I bought my '18 Q50RS the first thing I did was get into the diagnostic menu to turn off the fake sound. The natural sound of the engine, while it was a bit quiet, was so much better than the video game-like fake engine note coming though the speakers. This new Z, while it may still have the fake noise, at least it sounds like Nissan made an attempt to make it sound mechanical. To me it sounds good. I like this car.
Was nice to see it doesn't constantly hunt for gears like the 7 speeds in the Q's. Looking forward to seeing how the do tuned & upgraded turbos on the new trans.
The new 9 speed is based on the 9G Tronic transmission found in Mercedes since 2013. Nissan acquired it under license from Daimler AG to have jatco create their own. I have hopes of swapping this onto a vq37 lol
Wonder if I would like this more than the MK5 Supra... havnt driven either, I love how both of them look and sound. Both seem like really fun cars to daily.
B58 has the better engine and the better auto trans. Track performance we'll have to see but I think the z will be a momster on the track. Supra will be getting a manual trans now so that will be an interesting comparison when that drops. We don't know yet but I personally believe the z will have the better handling and better driving experience.
I know everyone has a manual preference, but for you did you notice any differences in both? I'm leaning towards auto and would love to trade in my WRX for this. It basically boils down to price point and if Supra makes any changes in price as well. Did they ever mention price to you? You hear around 40k but nothing definitive. Any details help. Thanks.

I think Nissan nailed the design on this, Im a huge 300zx and 240z fan and this is a perfect tribute car.
Finally a Z that looks good.
I have owned a couple of Z's in the past, I like this new Z. I am having a problem getting my head around the styling of the front grill. I tried to tell myself it would grow on me ... but to no avail. if I were to purchase one, my first modification would be to the grill. I don't know what I'd do to it .... but I'd do something. There's hardly a problem I can't fix with a hammer, a pair of vice grips, duct tape ... and a 6 pack.
i have the infiniti q60 a red sport with the same motor as the z .
is the new z quicker ?
what is the overall length of the car compared to the infiniti?
its lighter with an improved gearbox... what you think 😂

I like the sound inside the car . Great daily sports car with not muchncompeteti9n in the price range . looks fabulous and proper classic sports car proportions, looks slick and adult style ,what seems like more power tyen you can use often . it is one of my favourite new cars . With a MT it will be a cool car to have in the future for nostalgia, sound and input .
Very beautiful car, bravo Nissan and bravo to you as well for a very good and entertaining video, your energy is really great! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! Means a lot!
I wonder how much it is going to be for maintenance on the engine with the new turbos
Absolutely love this car in red with the black up top, it’s definitely a fun looking sport car. Sounds good looks great definitely fast car, I would definitely buy this! Nissan did a great job on this, maybe one day I’ll trade in my muscle car and get this or a Camaro 2ss 1le
My Dad had an 86 300zx. I love this new model! I ordered a 2023 Bronco and I’d love to get this too!

Thats 400 hp dude ... not your typical 150 hp civic. My genesis is 300 hp and people are shocked how quick it is.
My 370Z is at 362hp after some simple mods and a tune. It's scary.
@@povertyspec9651 yeah, but the torque curve from a Turbo really changes the behavior of the car, low end power.
@@0Camus0 yupp helps alot
Honda Civic EX is 180hp, Civic R is 300+, times have changed.
@@dllemm oh the 95 Honda civic Ex is 180 hp ???? Get your facts correct KID ...
This car grows on me so much.
Engine sounds fantastic in the Z. My '18 Q50RS (sold) never sounded this good.
Why did you get rid of your red sport? Been looking into them recently
@@mholmes9262 props for such a detailed response.
@@mholmes9262 the soundgenerator in the cabin of the new z doesn't "sound" good...
Yeah it's a 9 speed now
The new 9 speed is based on the 9G Tronic transmission found in Mercedes since 2013. Nissan acquired it under license from Daimler AG to have jatco create their own. I have hopes of swapping this onto a vq37 lol
Nissan making comeback of the century with this
11:16 “leg room is great”😭😭😭
I like that it has an actual turbo gauge and not a dumb digital display.
Wonder if I would like this more than the MK5 Supra... havnt driven either, I love how both of them look and sound. Both seem like really fun cars to daily.
Supra will be faster to 60 and will most likely be a bit lighter if that is important to you. BMW engines are always underrated.
@@ryanr482 driving experience and handling will always be the most important to me
Z is instantly better because of the 6 speed manual option
B58 has the better engine and the better auto trans. Track performance we'll have to see but I think the z will be a momster on the track. Supra will be getting a manual trans now so that will be an interesting comparison when that drops. We don't know yet but I personally believe the z will have the better handling and better driving experience.
@@ryanr482 Apparently the Z is about 200 pounds lighter.
I'm liking the interior design a lot better than the Supra. The Z also seems to sound really, really good. Can't wait to check one out for myself!
Thanks.
You meant bmw ...
With the rapidly rising prices due to inflation, look for the base at around $41K and the Performance at around $50K. That's my estimate.
I gotta say I just got a 21 Mustang GT. But was looking at waiting for this or a Supra. You can't go wrong with either car. They are both top cars for the $

Thank you!!
this was a great post bro! 1st one ive seen ever of a ride along... great sounds, people are gonna love this car especially with the manual
Can't wait to get my 6SPD once they're available! The only thing I don't like is the tachometer starting at the 4 o' clock position, so I hope there's some decent customization with the gauges.
Really like the interior. Love the screen placement.
I'm really interested to know how you fit in the driver's seat and how it feels as a tall person. I am 6'4" and am concerned about the interior space
Check my other review on the yellow one
@@Drive615 i just did. I wouldn't be ok with that amount of leg room for a daily - was the seat all of the way back? Also, how much is the rear view mirror in your vision looking forward? Would you be able to see a stoplight when at the line? My head doesn't ever really touch the ceiling but when it gets close I am sitting "into the roof" if that makes sense - and then it affects forward visibility
Everyone will get aftermarket bucket seats anyways if you’d like that suggestion, you’d sit a lot lower
That two sporty Z looks just like the one, my ex was going to sell me for two grand. I was 20 and my insurance company wanted 3500 to insure it.
I don't love the gear shifter on the automatic but it wouldn't stop me from getting one
