Excellent summary, and it’s great to see it appeals to a someone from a younger generation. I’ve been running the Highland Green since March 2023 and it’s one of my favourite bikes in 50 years of motorcycling.
Good review I have an early 23 midnight black here in northern ireland have been riding motorcycles from 1970 90cc to1400cc and love the goldstar it had been trouble free its a blank canvas for to make it your own I have added motone tank pads stadium bar end mirrors hagon rear shocks stainless steel rear rack with craven equipment top box I'm going to fit TEC progressive front springs over the winter it looks like a lovely country to ride in
Good review. You mentioned some things that other people seemed to have missed. My nearest dealer is about 150 miles away but I will get there in a few months when it warms up a bit here in the northern hemisphere. Thanks!
Nice video, and a good review of the Goldstar. I'm just north of CHCH and had mine since release from Cyclespot. They have a few niggles, but I really enjoy riding it.
Rotrax engine been round for 25yrs or so & is Austrian or Swiss designed originally made there too but now made in India. 230km range plenty in NZ as long as bike can do 200km in NZ sweet. Running bike in especially air cooled stop every 20-25km for 15-20mins for first 150km to put some heat cycles through it then stop every 40-50km till done a few hundred kms then every hour for first 500km & don't go over 4000rpm & change gears heaps. Indian FTR has about 160km 😲range 1200cc 13L tank bikes need 200km range with 1.5-2L left in tank.Triumph 900 only has 12L tank but I'm averaging 4.3L per 100km mixed riding not cruising use even less.
Hello Wesley. Have you ever ridden a Kawasaki W800? I know they are bit more of a premium bike than the BSA in terms of price and fit and finish but the 360 degree twin is a long stroke high torque engine that performs very similarly to the BSA but with more top end power and smoothness. They are the modern retro that is closer to the bikes of the 60s than anything else on the market. The W650 was introduce in 1999. a full year before the Triumph and is tribute to the W1 Kawasaki from the mid 60s. The W1 was a Japanese bike that was built under an engine license from BSA so there is a bit of shared heritage. Great video by the way. Unfortunately I can't ride a Gold Star as I don't think they are available in Canada. I have a 2022 W800 that is an amazing bike to ride. Cheers BJ
I have received a legal notice from Mahindra - BSA’s parent company for raising my issues on Twitter for the sub standard product that they offered me. Now, I have filed a consumer case against them.
BSA Ad! Still a great bike - only change - mandatory - get the Logos moulded into the engine cases. I would not buy a stickers bike! Laser engraving won‘t do it, at all! The hand armatures switches need a classic style, but to what I know, what‘s available on the market as OEM isn‘t much different, plastic-chrome-cheap, plastic-black-cheap, …, even indian Chiefs run with mounted big plastic stuff - costs 6x I‘d prefer a Yamaha SR type hand switches block style or older.
My brother owned 2A65's and 1B40 but he maintained his own bikes and not everybody has the skils for that, just like me and goes better for a retro than a vintage.
@@wesleyjames. I own a 2022 Gold Star 650, it shares a garage with a 1958 A10 Super Rocket, the owner of that A10 has never suggested that my Gold Star is a fake Beeza. His A10 leaks oil, it only starts up when it wants to and it would be better suited in a museum than on today's roads. People don't call the Triumph Bonneville's built for Hinckley in Thailand fake Bonnies, do they?
Why would any spend that amount of money on an imitation BSA ? It’s not a real bike just a copy Just think what you could buy for the money Zxr1400 Honda gold wing BMW adventure This bike will appeal to the sort of person who would ride a Harley😂😂😂😂😂

Thanks for watching, keep your eyes peeled for more releases over the next few months :)
I envy anyone who can take a bike trip in New Zealand. The Gold Star must have been a pleasure there!
It really is motorbike heaven here in the South Island, check out some of my other videos for more epic scenery
Love the look of this bike so much! Thanks for the initial review!
@@LindzMoto Glad you enjoyed it, I think you would really suit it

Glad to hear you're enjoying the bike, I'd love to customise mine, there's so much untapped potential. Thanks for watching!
It was good to meet you today on the BSA ride and hear your comments after 1200km of experience with the bike. Cheers
Hi Russell, you too! Thanks for watching
Awesome content, pro review, stunning scenery 👍 I can not wait to see the B65 SCRAMBLER review!
Thanks buddy, I can't wait to ride the B65 too :D

Glad to hear, have you done any rides with the BSA club down these ways? I might join their ride on Sunday
@@wesleyjames. I popped them a message but havent heard back.
Great video mate. Looks very cool. Enjoy your summer riding. I'll check out the dealer next time I'm passing through. Cheers
Thanks Ian, so far it's turning out to be an absolute cracker of a summer!
Sick video and channel bro
Thanks mate, appreciate the positive feedback !
When oh WHEN is this bike going to land in Australia? Anyone have any idea? Awesome classic retro bike.
Not sure unfortunately, I'm surprised little old NZ got it before you guys! Usually the other way round
The bike is classic and powerful performance.
@@mayurbanchhode1287 Indeed it is
The engine of the BSA Goldstar was developed in Austria by the Rotax company. 😉
Yes, sorry I had a momentary lapse of memory... I was close though, would have been worse if I had said Chile 😅

Hey wes would the bike be easy to maintaipn during the winters? And what tyres would we have to use for the winter f or this one?
Hi Dan, good question I'll need to look into that myself as I've only experienced it in Spring / Summer weather
The engine was not made or designed in Switzerland, it was Austria!
Indeed, it's a Rotax engine.
Reliable and looks very nice in the BSA performance.
Yes my bad! I'll get it right next time
I hope Mahindra make more retro bikes with old British brand stickers on the tank.
❤️🔥 hi bro I’m Dilip

@@Gamer_perak Ah cool, thanks for the follow!
Looks real nice, but my money is on Kawasaki 's W800.
0:10 The W800 is also a beautyful retro, defenetly if you prefer a 360 degree twin cilinder!I think both bikes has their own charmes.
One of my favourite bikes in the world is the Meguro K3 W800 😉

Get a real Beeza.

I rode the bike today with the BSA club (veteran riders) and no one referred to it as a fake Beeza, they were impressed!
