Paid £6000 for mine 5 months ago. 4 weeks later price drop to £5000. Been back to the dealers for the engine management flash upgrade twice, clutch recall once and a new wiring loom when the immobilized failed. 1800 miles on it now and recently returned from a short four in Cumbria and Yorkshire with a small engine leak from the barrel/cylinder head. After ten weeks offered £3200 p/ex against a new Z650RS, which I declined. Dealer has no faith in this bike and sadly neither do I. Still like the look of it and the ride is great. I intend to keep it rather than take the very large financial hit. Fortunately I have two other bikes. Unless BSA get their act together with a quality product at the right price, supported by a good dealership network then they will go the same way as the original BSA company.

I really want one of these bikes, I have since the announcement a couple years back that BSA was being revived. I've wanted a classic Goldstar for years but they're fairly rare here in the US and the ones you can find are either in poor condition or are sold at high collector prices. BSA/Mahindra keeps saying they're going to be importing them here to the US this year but I don't think it's happened yet and I'm afraid now that we have our former clown-in-chief coming back into office, it might never. Great review, though, nice to see a thorough review like this. If Mahindra holds out there, I may have to consider getting one imported on my own if they meet US emissions. Cheers
VERYN PLEASED WITH MY LEGACY MODEL FROM THE FIRST BATCH. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS AND IT IS A KEEPER. PERFECT FOR BOTH THE YOUNG AND OLD MOTORCYCLISTS FOR BOTH TOWN AND COUNTRY RIDING. SUCH FUN, GIVE ONE A TRY.
I also have an early legacy model, registered in December 2022, no problems so far. I am always getting complements from pedestrians and other road users about my BSA Gold Star. It has BSA in the registration and it is a keeper for sure.

At this price, the BSA is more attractive. The big problem for the BSA is the Triumph 400 and the Guerrilla. The dealer nearest me had to can the bsa franchise, due to a total lack of support. I don’t have much confidence in the warranty
My local royal Enfield dealership is now selling the bsa and it’s even cheaper again I noticed yesterday, so I do believe it’s getting rolled out in more dealerships across the country.
The ex dealer here in Lancashire told me that the reason they knocked the price down is because they brought in far too many bikes in 2023 and their having to unload that stock before winter.

Yes I totally agree it’s great to see this brand back. I think BSA have done a nice job with this bike and it brings back a bit of British nostalgia and it’s got an electric start 😂
It’s interesting to hear from some of the original owners of the BSA bikes, some were saying the suspension would buck them out the seat if they hit a bump in the road.
I was one of those idiots taken in by all the hype back in March 2023 when I was daft enough to pay £6800 + otr for a midnight black/ chrome version. Due to a heart attack it's only got 690 miles on the clock. Tested a 9 grand Honda last month and when I asked how much for the GoldStar he offered £2600. Thanks a lot BSA, the bikes OK but the company stink.
I understand that’s a real pain for you, the bike market has dropped massively this year alone. My dad has a 1250gs he paid 22k for in 2022 and now worth 10k. The best thing would be to keep the bsa and pick up a cheaper second bike. After all it’s a buyer market now.
No way, BSA don't deserve my support they couldn't even hold onto their distributor here in Lancashire because they messed him around, their customer support has proved pathetic and not just with my bike.
I live 10 mins walk from a BSA dealer and l've never seen one! Tbh it's a Mahindra, an Indian bike masquerading as something British, fair enough but not at RRP. As for owners waxing about their "Goldies", well they need professional psychiatric help.

I own a Italian Ducati multistrada v4s, the valves in the engine are made in India does this still make it Italian. They will possibly build this bike back in the uk but parts will still be imported from India. There’s not many motorcycles at are built in house anymore in the uk.
@@edwardtumbaking2189 So you have a different opinion. That's ok but just because it's your opinion it doesn't make it correct it's just an opinion. Discuss ?
BSA AT COMPLETELY MOTORCYCLE CANT EVEN GIVE THEM AWAY , allegedly TO EVEN TRACK STARS OR ZUNDERZAPP OWNERS ,OH WELL ,LOOKS GOOD IN A SHOP WINDOW FOR DECORATION
You failed to explain how this soul-less pudding of a bike is, in your words "a legendary classic re-born". having watched you review I know for sure I won't be wasting my money of one of these.
Two words that’s correct but unfortunately I don’t get commission or get paid for this video. I try to highlight the positives on all bikes and one big positive is a cheaper price and a longer warranty.
"Reviews" (actually ads) for this obese Mahindra are taking over RUclips. The backers will continue to stuff this thing down our throats until they have spent their last Euro. By now they should realize that no amount of hype is going to convince us that this is an extraordinary vehicle.
I get that some reviews can come off as overly promotional, but as a reviewer myself, I try to provide a balanced perspective on all bikes, including the Mahindra. At the end of the day, it’s about giving viewers the info they need to make their own decisions. Not every bike is for everyone, but it’s good to have all the facts on the table!”
My only brief with this bike is the borrowed name and tank badges. If you know the DBD 34 then you can understand what an insult this is to the real thing. RUclips has hosted an extraordinary barrage of vids for this bike. My prediction: the vids will keep appearing even after Aunt Mahindra is no longer in production. @@thatbikersimon
Is this because of there not made in the uk anymore? Its funny because my Ducati multistrada v4 has Indian valves does that not make it a Ducati anymore. We all have to except change even if we don’t agree but I’m all for supporting biking and keeping the brands alive.
@@thatbikersimonThe attitude of many will change eventually. I mean in NZ what is made here anymore. Fisher and Paykel washing machine is not made in NZ anymore. If these characters want to pay double the money and enough of them, then they can pay double if BSA are in-house. Can’t have it both ways can we. Every bike is outsourced to a certain degree. As is cars.

Let's be honest, the BSA Gold Star 650 is not a BSA Gold Star, it is a crappy cheap third world imitation of a once great British marque, the only thing that is a BSA Gold Star is the name, not even the plastic tank badge reflects anything of the BSA heritage. Purely aimed at sad old wrinklies trying to jump on the nostalgia bandwagon. Cheap to buy yes, but try part exchanging for a new model, used values drop like a lead ballon in a bucket of water and most dealers of other makes just turn their backs........
Here’s a response you can use: “Thanks for your comment! I understand your point of view, and I think many enthusiasts of classic British bikes have strong feelings about heritage and authenticity. That said, I think it’s also important to recognize that the BSA Gold Star 650 was designed to make retro biking accessible to a wider audience. While it may not be a direct replica of the originals, it does capture some of the spirit of the marque and provides an option for those who want a taste of the classic experience without the challenges of maintaining a true vintage bike. Regarding used values, this is something that can vary across models and brands, but I’d be interested to hear if others have had different experiences with their trade-ins. Every new bike will depreciate and all dealerships will have plenty of stock so trade ins will be hard but Thanks again for sharing your thoughts

It's a bsa..regardless where it's built or assembled...
@@edwardtumbaking2189 So you have a different opinion. That's ok but just because it's your opinion it doesn't make it correct it's just an opinion. Discuss ?
STILL ONLY WORTH 900 QUID WHEN IT COMES OUT OF THE SHOWROOM
We along as you’ve paid a grand that good 👍
Horses for courses donkeys for fields ,Shetland pony 50 quid

BSA AT COMPLETELY MOTORCYCLE CANT EVEN GIVE THEM AWAY , allegedly TO EVEN TRACK STARS OR ZUNDERZAPP OWNERS ,OH WELL ,LOOKS GOOD IN A SHOP WINDOW FOR DECORATION
I think your caps lock is broken lol
You failed to explain how this soul-less pudding of a bike is, in your words "a legendary classic re-born". having watched you review I know for sure I won't be wasting my money of one of these.
I appreciate it’s not for everyone but thanks for watching
Review? Advertisement.
Cheap rubbish dont waste your money the finish is absolute rubbish
Cheap but not rubbish.
Its not a bsa ,just like enfield are not enfields.call them something else
As is cars.
Bet you wouldn't buy one.
I don’t tend to buy anything new for me it’s always about the resale because I don’t keep bikes long, so i probably would on the basis I’d only run it for a year and lose £500 if I bought right. I would sooner have a Norton
I can't help finding that bike ugly.
It’s based on a 1950 look, modern retro classic, they all looked like this years ago
And there’s me thinking it’s by far the nicest looking retro out there!
NO CHANCE OF NEEDING TO USE A PADLOCK AND CHAIN WITH THIS MOTORCYCLE ,BSA ,STANDS FOR burglars scared away. In the heady heights of the naughty boy world allegedly.
Surely that’s a good thing 😂🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
Let's be honest, the BSA Gold Star 650 is not a BSA Gold Star, it is a crappy cheap third world imitation of a once great British marque, the only thing that is a BSA Gold Star is the name, not even the plastic tank badge reflects anything of the BSA heritage. Purely aimed at sad old wrinklies trying to jump on the nostalgia bandwagon. Cheap to buy yes, but try part exchanging for a new model, used values drop like a lead ballon in a bucket of water and most dealers of other makes just turn their backs........
Here’s a response you can use:
“Thanks for your comment!
