The 'Real' Status Quo will always be best remembered for the solid driving bass of Alan Lancaster. It was great to see the original four back together on the reunion tours of 2013 and 2014. Without Alan (and John) they were never the same.
This was the Quo line up of my youth, head down no nonsense boogie..When all four of them were in the groove it was an unstoppable train, a train driven by the rhythm section...Quo oooooh😁😎
ушла целая эпоха...Мы всегда будем помнить тебя Алан и твое искуство энергии и музыкального вдохновения во вклад супер популярной музыки! без тебя группа просто не может существовать...
The nearest thing in a group with a 25% split that you will ever see. 3 different lead vocals, songs written and co-written by 3 of the group (mainly) and all driven along by great shuffle drums
Good to see the guys enjoy play together once more. Memories which will be shared for eternal time. Their will never ever be a line up like this. Proud to have been able to enjoy your music at its finest.
Great to see them back together..having a ball..sad to think that Parfitt (one of the greatest rythym guitarists of all time ) is now gone..this was the REAL quo..which i have seen about 50 times over the years..great memories
These guys music ruled '70's Australia. Down the dustpipe. Down Down. Roll over Lay down. Rain. Caroline. Wild Side of life. Rockin'' all over the world.
Francis definitely didn’t like this reunion you can tell, he just couldn’t bully rick as Rick was a joint frontman. Francis said he was seen as number 1 by the others...but I don’t think so
Glasgow 76 one of the best concerts I've ever seen and up there with G&R, Deep purple, Rainbow and Zep in 75. Then they turned into a comedy band once Lancaster and Coglan left.
Quo have always been a "pop" band - POPular - that's what it stands for...the difference is that in the 70's - Rock music was the POPular music of the time. Quo have always done "light" music (the awful Joanne for a start) .
Pity that it seemed to escape Francis Rossi’s attention that musically, this is (was - RIP Rick) the best lineup of the band. I know that they made a far better living in latter years, after the departure of Nuff and Spud, with the other guys and that’s fair enough. I suppose they couldn’t keep playing the same hard/heavy boogie blues rock for 50 years. They had to diversify and progress into what became known as “Quo Lite”. But again, this is certainly the best incarnation of the band.
I was the biggest Quo fan of all time, but Quo Lite was a housewife group. Such a shame but hey, Rossi and Parfitt went where the money was I guess. Shame because the music was too diluted for hardcore fans.
@@pauljones9061 Rhino doesn't have a bad voice; he just has a terrible voice _for Quo_ where a cleaner sound is wanted (tho Roadhouse is a bad example). He and Bown actually have good voices for certain specific types of hard rock, like the kinds they play in their own bands.
ROADHOUSE BLUES UNA GENIALIDAD DE TOQUES DE GUITARRA QUE ME PONE LA PIEL DE GALLINA CUANDO LA ESCUCHO Y NO DIGAMOS EL BAJO Y LA BATERÍA, QUE SON SONIDOS DE JUEGOS MENTALES PARA UN ROCKERO CLÁSICO COMO YO. GRACIAS POR ESA MUSICA.glooriiaa,glooorrriaa.
Kinda kool. It was like watching four weekend friends getting ready for their appearance at the local park district festival and feeling pretty good about themselves. Diggin' the Quo.
Met Alan in 1986 wow hero, all of em to me,I bought Hello at age 10 1st ever LP ,and Loved Blue For You,we were lucky enough to record at his AU Studio,I couldn't believe the Gold Records totally surrounded the control room wow.♥️
Had a chance to go to their gig in Dublin.. Did nt go and still regret it.. Great that they done that tour when Rick was still around... Francis Rossi very talented guitarist very original abs melodic player

In my opinion - it was because of the FF reunion that Rick died - it put him back in that "mood" to live the RNR lifestyle - went back to drinking etc - had heart attacks and effectively killed him.
Rick ,i love you😪FF was the BEST💖THX for Hammersmith 2013 it was a wonder & magic ,both nights✌Shame to split the best Boogie Rockers on earth💖41 year's my Band 💖 Quo was my life 😪 now they have good musican's , really but it's not the same 💖FF💖

Gonna give Alan and Quo some kudos for this. Blues is what I call knuckle dragging music for knuckle heads like me. Nothing fancy, willing to get down and get dirty. A far cry from electric and the like. I'm not slagging any music, just how it really makes me feel. Blues is all about emotions and feelings. Electric music put together. Not with feeling, like blues, but with craft. The guys did good on this. Nice one guys. Thank you.
Alan's got MS and he's battling really well.Let's praise his efforts in keeping going. Thanks for posting.Saw the band last night in Manchester and the magic is still there.
RIP ALAN LANCASTER 🙏 😢
Will be missed but never forgotten.
Thanks for the memories

Couldn't of put it better myself no disrespect to the new members but the original Quo were something else
These days its just Rossi and his cover band .....
Proper Status Quo. Saw them in 1972.
Rest in Rock, Alan and Rick
RIP lovely Alan! The voice at 2:42 gives me goosebumps, the sound made by these four sounded incredible. No one can reproduce this magic again.

Love the quo version of this song Rick and Alan's memory lives on while there is you tube.

The drummer and the bass is what makes this band superb
I agree thee drummer and bass is 100 % very very good
I gotta admit that Rick Parfitt plays one hell of a guitar🔥❤

This is the Quo I fell in love with back in 1973.
Lancaster and Coghlan should never have left . All 4 are so right together. Magic!!
The nearest thing in a group with a 25% split that you will ever see. 3 different lead vocals, songs written and co-written by 3 of the group (mainly) and all driven along by great shuffle drums
Seen them 4 times . A great rock band. Sad to see 2 of them gone.
The best Status Quo formation ever!
Best Quo line up. Feeling, passion, soul.
Love these guys since I first heard them in the mid 70’s
Status Quo , retour aux années musicales 70 ' et 80 ' ... Que du bonheur ! Une époque épique , dans le domaine artistique !!
Was great that they did this Tour and the fans got a chance to see this lineup again. Awesome stuff 👏👏👏
It's all coming back to me said Alan at the end, bless him. The real quo.💚💚💚💚. Bless you Rick.

Saw this line up 5 times in the 70s, the greatest live group, in my view
Status Quo, A piece of history that I missed, but finding about now
Great sound, bring me back to my childhood
Je me rends compte que les morceaux les plus rock sont chantés par Alan! Toujours! J’adore.
John s drumming is so perfect...looks so easily his playIng ...none of the dudes after him played like he did...
What a song,,,Alan loved having fun live,,,amazing how he held that high note,,,I thought where did they get this guy,,

Very sad that Alan was ousted and unpaid............God Bless him. Hope he’s coping ok and I’d just like to say Thank you for the memories.
RIP Alan sound of my youth OLHS 1980
I totally agree, he sounds awesome in this video.
Didn't you mean to type "awful". That's pretty shit singing.
At the end "it's coming back to me.." lmao, that was brilliant!!
Love the way Rick keeps looking at Alan ...great stuff !!!!!
+Kelvin Marshall I think Rick & Alan were always closer, plus It looks like Frame is trying to "herd" Alan. Kind of bully him. Dunno.
Could be right ..don't think Fran was to keen on the reunion , when you hear him chatting ...
Francis definitely didn’t like this reunion you can tell, he just couldn’t bully rick as Rick was a joint frontman. Francis said he was seen as number 1 by the others...but I don’t think so
Rossi always thought he was the main 1 in quo, which he wasn't. It was Alan and Rick who made quo.

Wrong. It is the only Quo line up...
It doesn't get better than this the original and best four combo.

Nostalgically speaking, correct - musicianship not really...
Exzellent. So great.Status Quo is the best Band of the World.I,ve always been a fan of this

Fantastic! Real music!
Ahhh just for a while we had the magic back, the old sound and magic it was too.
This was epic. So happy I saw them in Germany in 2013. Last time ever.
With Rick Parfitt🖤

Great to see Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan in the band, never better !!
No puedo contenerme. Fantástica interpretación de Alan. No hay palabras.
The QUO I grew with, brilliant. Glasgow Appollo '76.
Love the Live album or were you actually there? If so, lucky sod, it one of the top 5 gigs I would have loved to have attended.
Stephen Brown it was recorded over three consecutive sold out nights at the Apollo! Some of us were there all three nights. Just sayin.
Glasgow 76 one of the best concerts I've ever seen and up there with G&R, Deep purple, Rainbow and Zep in 75. Then they turned into a comedy band once Lancaster and Coglan left.
4 of the best seen them a number of times.
The frantic four are untouchable, Quo lite are a pop band, this is the real deal, Love it!
Well said mate
1977 - Sheffield City Hall - when they were still a rock band and WAY before the descent into cabaret. The balconies were bouncing!!

1976 Cardiff Castle with this line up and a couple of school friends, they played out of their skins and an incredible memory to have.
What an atmosphere that was
I was there...a great day indeed.
I was on holiday in Cornwall at the time and remember thinking I wish I was there.
I was there with some friends aged 17. What a fantastic day that was, Hawkwind, Curved Air and others all topped out by the Quo!!!
