In reality, Russian pilots dont have much experience, Felon doesnt have propper engines, rockets are not that effective, radar the same. I would say, that Gripen-E Is slightly more capable than SU-57.

I wanna see more Gripen. Because it is not really designed "to win dogfights". If it was it would have a lot more umph and twin engines. But being small, it still holds its own. It should be the perfect underdog for GS?
I"d use the IRST when close enought so I don"t need the radar anymore. No RWR signal for you, and when I fire my IR missile, you"d have no warning again. Better if I could have a R-27 ET.

This is pretty much a setup I suggested like a year ago, so thanks for that - seeing if the persistent suppression of the Meteor was worth a fighter generation. I'm not surprised to see the answer in this case is "lol no, I should have been dead twice", but I think the setup could remain interesting in other matches and scenarios.
Lol yeah, i don’t understand why people seem to think Russian hardware is that good, because it isn’t. They have made 11 SU57 in total, where Sweden have several hundreds of 39 Gripen.
@@johanbtheman well, each SU-57 is quite good, but pilots who fly those arent. Here, in the video we can see how that is as important as a jet capabilities. Very low total number of su-57's built also limits it's capabilities (US also has somehow small amount of F-22 and very small amount of B2 Spirit planes).
Give the people what they want and do Battle of the Canards: A battle royale between (at a minimum) the JAS39 Gripen, SU33 Flanker-D, Eurofighter Typhoon, and Dassault Rafale. May the best 'nard win.
Su-33 is a bit too old for them. Su-30SM/SM2 on the other hand will be a proper gen 4++ adversary, since they both have canards, great avionics and vector thrust.
I'm really not the patriotic type but whenever I see Swedish fighter jets (even simulated) I actually tense up a bit (that second hypersonic missile) and feel a sense of pride when the Gripen gives a good showing. We are a country of 10M people with a rich history in the fighter jet space and it's just cool that we are still relevant in this day and age. Having had backstage access to most of the Swedish airforce fleet in my youth has also made me connect more personally with its performance.
TERMA spent 10billion on developing the Gripen or helping with it but pulled out due to Swedish corruption. Look up who Terma is and where they are from, cousin. Gripen was actually a joint venture, not just Swedish.

Considering the time the original Gripen was ordered and developed I'm not surprised some dodgy stuff went on. But I mean the engine is American, the armament is Nato standard. It's very much not solely Swedish and we have had considerable help in development. Still, Saab Aerospace is the contractor and with that comes at least some national pride for me personally. I also had family members in the Swedish airforce back when they were flying SK60.
Not swedish here, but I also love it when the Gripen gets on top. Specially because I love the plane but also because we bought them (the E/F version). Hoping we buy a second batch.
I'd love to rewatch this combat video for a destress. I suggest for the 71st time that you should either repeat with these jets, but in a dogfight setting, or do the dogfights between the MiG-29/Su-27 vs Su-57 Felon to compare pilot skills with different tech capabilities as well. Such a breathtaking and epic gameplay you posted so far before, GS. Aim High and Soar High!
This was a nerve-racking one. I totally expected the fight to be over when you said you were out of flares and you could see the missile coming straight towards you!
If you say, it can kill sukhoi, so the sukhoi can also kill gripens. That's not a new thing when it comes to combat, anyone can be kill, so don't may any compliments of the politics what they say.
I would love to see a Dogfight only video between the Gripen and a 5th Gen fighter like the F-22 or SU-57, I can only imagine the Gripen’s performance and want to see if it will hold with a 5th Gen.
I always underestimate those European fighters, but when GS came into the merge with the felon, he was defensive for most of the fight. Felon is just built to well for dogfights.
