Thanks for your support!
u need a FT bf-109
Yes.
The Porky Pilot Show I got good news😂
The Porky Pilot Show that plane shot down my relative in WWII
Yes
@@angiejensen2462 there's a 800mm simple 109 I think, filken Or something made that
Please update your build videos to the speed build kits that you sell now!!!
Going to be ordering this speed build kit in a couple of days, this video will make the build even easier. :-)
Thanks David and Josh for this beautiful plane and the opportunity to be part of Flite Test. You two are amazing!
I'm designing a Hurricane Mk I at the moment. Ill build it after my exams or something for you guys to see :) Loving the videos! I think everyone will agree they are better at the moment than ever!
Did ya make it ?
Thank you David. Finally had a chance to build and fly this thing today. By far the best scratch build I have flown so far. Suggested throws are alittle tame on the roll. I was worried but the vertical stab and rudder being so tiny but tracks so well at slow speeds and has great rudder athority ee.
So, I've watched this AWESOME video like 4300 times (Well, not THAT many), and you guys are always talking about suggestions. Might I suggest an FT Bf109 to go along with the Spitfire? If the suggestion has already been done, my apologies, otherwise, I think this would the most logical progression from this great build! Thanks for great vids! Keep them coming!
Just built one of these, and I must say, I am amazed at how well this plane flies! All the looks of a warbird, yet handles like a trainer! Stall tendencies are almost non-existent! My hats off the Dave and Flite Test for sharing this sweet Spit! It's a keeper! Next up: mini Corsair!
Is this fine for a begginner? With 0 flight experience?
I made this plane.

Does anyone else get chills when he uses the scrap foam to scrape off the excess glue? Just me?
worst sound ever
@@jaxonbmx2699 bruh this comment is ancient
hi guts loving the videos but could you start adding some prices with the kits please andy(uk)
the wing is a superb representation of the spitfire, even the dihedral is perfect. great strength too. great design :-)
Where can you get this I want it for a school project but instead it drops bombs with facts from WW2
Bought the kit and love it. Great job on making it a fun project for my first one. Will order more later and have The Corsair on order. Make sure you buy a good glue gun. Thanks
can we scratch build on micro warbird?..anyway..love the video :)
Replace cockpit with glass and put 360 cam to make a vr view, also you can add guns
How big and how thick the foamboard pieces have to be? I would love to order a speedbuild kit but unfortunately the shipping is too expensive, so I have to cut it by myself :D
Adams redi foam is thinner and lighter than Elmers foam board.
me too
About 4mm, but for a tighter stronger fit, I use 5mm
Just bought this kit at hobbytown today! I have been a big fan for years and love all your videos. Keep up the great work! The Flite Test videos got me back into the hobby 3 months ago.
Build the Horten 229 / Ho 229
yes!
The Flying Vogel you could pretty easily tweak one of their wing builds with edf
The Flying Vogel best jet
Got my Spitfire Speed built kit from Lazertoys at last weekend's WRAM expo. Can't wait to get started on the build.
35:50 seeing this was so satisfying. Two cuts and pop. Really clever guys!
I hope you'll make a masterseries dive bomber
congratats fellas good cheap fun. can i sudjest you use polystyrene foam in the nose under the foam board , just as light but strong
nice job...sorry i have q..
EMAX 2213. 935kv good or sunnsky x2212. 2450kv for this plan..sorry for my languge...
Lol. Don’t build it with someone you like, cos you’d end up at each other’s throats!! 🤣🤣🤣😢😭😢
nice plan..sorry for this plan 2213 EMAX 935kv will work thanks....
Come si chiama il materiale che hanno usato per fare laereo ebellissimo
Yesterday I went on a glider flight
2000ft and over
Does anyone know what electronics they use?
how to put a legal landing gear in it?
Flitetest probably makes the best foamboard planes in the world but to make them better, it would have been nice if you put formers on the bottom of the plane to make them more round. It looks nice. Just Saying to make the 5 star rating into a 6 star looking plane. DOn't worry i am building this plane
Do you think I can build this using corrugated plastic? I'm not sure what the proper name for that material is, but it's like cardboard but made of soft plastic.
I think they use 4mm foam becauSe i got a few sheets at dollar tree and it was like 4.8mm, and when i did those folds on the middle peice the gaps were too small and it wont bend up 90 degrees. Also the cutouts where one piece of foam slides in is too small.
I bought the kit, after watching the kit being built ...I got the hang of it . I will have a puppet help me since , I don't have friends to help me.
i am in the process of building the plane and have the same motor, but the shaft is backwards, i took the e-clip off and the set screw out and have pushed it the other way, but i am not sure if using just the screw to secure it on the shaft is safe
Cool Plane! Love you guys ! I encourage you to buy all the stuff from flite Test on this PDF /kit/powerpack etc. Then If you want to build it as Light as Possible... then actually build it in depron instead of Heavy school foam board. Mid/ sept.2020 The RcDepron.com site can sell you the Depron. Why? it cuts/ glues/flies etc. everything is better with depron. Thumbs Up for standing for our Faith/ country!
so whats the average total cost for the speedbuild and everything you need to fly like servos, receiver, prop, motor, etc?
Josh I down load the plan because I would like to try it but sorry if this is a dum thing to ask but I see the wing measurement but I don't see the measurements for the other components
Does anyone know where i can get the drawings or measurements for this plane ?? I checked the flite test site and didn't find any thing besides to just buy it ..
My motor and esc just came in today and i wanna start building this asap ! With my son little farther son build ..
Hope to hear some kind of answer
Build a massive spitfire plzz then make plans like 80"wing out of any type of foam plzzz
Hello i love rc planes very much but i can not get it because it is not money.
Hi. Can somebody who build plane of their plans please advise which type of foam shuld be used on it?
I was thinking about depron foam but it might be to heavy.
It comes with 3mm and 6mm thick in my area.
Robert Sasin i will build it with white 6mm Depron
I am having lots of issues. Plane needed lots of weight to balance properly. Motor shaft replacements can't be found. Recommended Suppo 2217/7 motor is underpowered and can barley take off. Hand launching is disastrous. Suppo 2217/7 motors have aluminum shafts that bend easy. I got two motors and now both shafts are bent.
why do I feel you two don't like each other???????
Same :/
I just got REALLY-REALLY frustrated trying to purchase the Spitfire and electronics package but when I tried to check out I couldn't, THREE TIMES! WT...H ?
What electric system is in there, or should I use?
Andrew Sterlini Yeah that link is wrong, it's actually www.lazertoyz.com/ what you linked is not safe for work :/
Hi guys! I really want to build this one and use 5000mAh LiPo...total weight would be around 1,2kg ...what motor and propeller should I use?
today was a fail day :( printed out plans, bought glue gun + glue stick's , bbq stick's , packaging tape and wolfcraft scalpel, went to get some foam, but they sad they are out of 5mm and 6mm :(((
I have a 6 channel helicopter that I crushed end destroyed a servo, apart with some other things. So I have 3 working servos. 2 from the cyclic pitch end 1 from the rudder of the helicopter. Will it be possible to pull all the electronic gear from the helicopter end attached to this spitfire? The fact that I only have 3 servos raises questions in my head! If I have a mix in my aileron servos end a rudder will I be possible to control the aircraft? Or I need another configuration?
i have 3 pound airplane, push prop i need pick up motor and speed control which let me flight 30 to 45 min with 5200mah battery, is this posible, and what motor and esc do i can use
how many cells on your battery
Hey guys I have a question I have a lot of spare Drone parts and a few batteries for the x5c drones and also for the x8c/g series I've bought some used ones and we'll I was curious if I could build an rc plane with the motors and battery etc. Also willing to donate some parts lol.
So I understand the single layer of foam board with the pins for the motor pod, what if two layers, the actual aero frame and maybe a subsequent back up 2 inch piece of foam board was glued to the inside aero frame from the bottom? In doing so do you think the dowels would be more rigid, “a little more bite”? I understand the exterior layers of the foam board are tough, if one were to sandwich skin, foam, dowel, foam, skin would be stronger?
The Spitfire is my No.1 Favourite Wartime Aircraft
hence my profile picture.
Me too
How much wingspan? In The plans I See a little. Both wings Just in a A4 paper.
Just a suggestion guys, instead of cutting the BBQ skewers with a razor blade or scissors, use a small diagonal wire cutter. One quick snip and it's cut.
Hello Flite test
I am in France and I want to know or buy this model, and also the name of this material "Depron cardboard"? you use in this video.
Thanks see you soon
Alain
You could make kind of a partnership with hobbyking where they mass produce these kits so the they will be available to Euroupe aswell because i am form Denmark and i really want a FT spitfire! Good job with the kit
Guys, you are great, but in this build, you don't explain how you access the aileron servo wires if you build a non-removable wing.
Hello from Argentina. I find great airplanes that you create. Could you tell me how is called the material used for the fuselage and wings. First of all, Thanks.
Hi I am pretty new to this. Could you please tell me if I could use 1000 kv motors. Also what is the best battary choice for this motor? Thank you

How come you guys don't promote the Turnigy range or radios more as opposed to the Spektrum range? After all Turnigy is cheaper and that is supposedly what you are all about.
Turnigy radios perform just as well as the Spektrum if not better for park flyer applications.
Hello Flite Test friends!
I have a 2822 motor, 30A esc and 3s 2200mah battery. Can I use this Spitfire?
This model have all electronic ? Inclouded ?
No
Paul-Antoine Martineau lol
Just finished building this in September 2024. Thanks for a great design, David!
This would be fun in a massive swarm. Lets see a few axis planes! Shouldn't be to hard to modify that Spit into a Messerschmitt!
My pre-cut kit has a hole where you show the servo bring glued... Please advise. Some printable plans would be nice
This was easy to build. Maiden didn't go so well. It just floated then plopped down haha. I'll try a bigger prop and mayb a 4s
We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be... WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!!!
Time Code 29.11: One important thing: Turtle Deck, the paper grain in the FT Speedbuild Kit it is exactly the opposite (90 degrees), not as you said here in the description video. The paper doesn't bend well in the cut direction. ....
You should build a big spitfire with 80" wing and make free plans
I live 1 mile from the original Supermarine factory in Woolston, Southampton UK...I just gotta build this, shame I can't fit a tiny RR Merlin..Electric all the way!
Hey FT guys....we of little experience need to know where to get a great Hot Melt Glue Gun like the one you use....please help. Thanks.
Muito bom, legal. Parabéns!
what type of receiver did you guys use? and would it work with a dx4?
Do you guys print your plans in LETTER or in dina 4 or sthing Else, because the cm on a a4 sheet are 1.1 cm
On your store do you take different types of currincy or just U.S dollars
can i use an emax cf2822 1200kv with an 3s 1300mah lipo and 30 amp esc ? someone please reply..
Do you have the plans for laser-cutting the foam board? I've got a laser cutter I can use to make my own.
Do you guys recommend (for scratch building) when printing it out to do fit to page or not fit to page. Can you respond as fast as you can because I really want to make this plane soon.
Only way to improve this.... make a camera looking out of the cockpit so you can fly it in first person :D
men i got a tip that will change your life ....to make hot glue dry faster use a pc air duster can,, the cold air sets the glue instantly
you guys have a full kit tho build this plane everything what you need include? I want to build it but and fly it plz help
All three signal losses were they run from Spektrum transmitters?
Könnted ihr mal eine Focke Wulf 190 in euer sortiment aufnehmen
what size battery ? 1300 0r 2200 ? I used a 2200 and its a bit heavy
Comment 800
Was a bit tail heavy for me, but I think my foam board was too dense. I might order a kit so it it cut right this time.
guys from flite test why don't you make a helicopter out of faom template I would love to see a you tube video on that.
I also would really like to see you do a Hercules look-a-like. I know it's a lot of motors but it really would be a perfect model for explaining adding flaps and using mixing on rudder and motor.
Is it safe to put the battery right under the motor? It sure does make things easier to replace the battery or charge it, but what if there is a crash?
woot woot!!! i thought it would never come :'( i almost cried
Make two small holes at the ends of those slots on the frontward poster-board piece and it won't bubble.
I am wondering how thick your material actually is. I can make a sandwich construction from the materials I can get here. It's gonna be a little bit heavier but a bigger motor and prop should do. With the materials I have I can come to roundabout 135 grams/m³ at 39 mm thickness. Because I have to laminate cardboard to both sides of the foam to get a material like the one you use there is a 1% to 2% difference in weight each plate I make.
I know you want ideas and i thougt i would share one of mine. My dad flew the fokker 50 for a swedish airline called skyways that went bancruppt. i havent seen any rc models of it so a swappable one would be really uniqe. It's a really cool plane as it uses two turboprop pratt&whitney. I know some pepole whil dissagre but i think i looks relly nice sitting on the ground whit it's high landing gear.
Bonjour pouvez vous me contactez je voudrai achetez un model réduit de Spitfire en dépron merci de m'indiquer la marche à suivre et de me répondre. Salutations amical de FRANCE.
Hello can you contact me I am buying a small model of Spitfire depron, thank you to tell me what to do and respond. Friendly greetings from FRANCE
"If You don't like 'um don't even tell them about it" That's RUclips Gold!
what about uncle and nephew builds ? anyways why not mod bb to fire from the wings ;p
How about a "Delta" or "Blended Lifting Body". The foam board that you use would be an interesting plane. With all controls internal.
I started with the "Mr. Bones" 24 x 18. Blew that up to 48 x 36, powered by a OS Dbl BB 25, 9x6 prop. 1/4 in. square stock main building material. Full 4 channel. ail.& elv. mixed. nose gear, and throttle. Fixed 3 landing gear. 5 lbs w/ fuel.
The plane is very smooth aerodynamically, very clean. High speed will make your eyes water, and will put most .40 sized planes to shame .At medium speeds, 50% power, it will do standing and lazy "8's" with ease almost within its own length.
I have a .56 engine, so I have been thinking that a 96 x 48 would be huge.
no its not, pick a higgh wing trainer everyone wants to fly a spitfire first, and then they crash the spitfire. FT have a couple of suitable trainers for beginners, but alas they dont look like a spitfire, cause a spitfire was a fighter, not a trainer.
Good luck.
