I love this guy. He really makes to seem as simple as making a cake! He did it in no time. Hell, I have months constructing a stinker Pitts and is not even the fuselage done. Everything is so simple! bell-cranks, folding surfaces instead of a ribs and spars for the wings. Something that really catches my attention is sizes and angles, all coming together without gaps or faulty splices.
Ever see him build his own plane and actually fly in it? Kid is amazing!!
Today I maidened the corsair. I'm always a little nervous when I launch a new plane for the first time. The CG 1.5 Inch is good with a little added nose weight (30gr). The model flew right out of my hand very well, almost now trimming was necessary. I made 8 flights of aprox 4 min. And with the 3S it was very fast, I mean crazy fast and very powerful, stable and sturdy. I crashed twice and almost no damage, the motor was pushed in... I ripped off the Firewall when I landed for the last time. Indeed. Now I repaired and made some reinforcements for the powered. Actually a petty I can't post any pics here. Hopefully video will soon follow.
What is that white stuf called
@@petar8459 foamboard
@@petar8459 Someone didn't attend sex ed!!!😂🤣
Sorry, but you ran into that one!
They seem to be fairly easy to construct with this tutorial. Amazing how simple you make it look to create and build.
bgndeath it’s really annoying actually be it was simple
You guys are aeronautics engineers, and artists too!. Awesome!
Hi guys! I'm a HUGE fan! I know this sounds insane, but, remember the flying sleds? What if you made something like that, ... Something big enough for one of you to RIDE in? That would be awesome, but I can understand if you just dismiss this. Keep up the awesomeness!!!!!!
Made my own thanks to this video! Used to watch it as a kid now im going to print the stencils onto foam so me and my kid can build larger models! Im planning on putting 6 bb guns so we can build and dog fight!
Ive spent 30 days making this rc plane and im already done and it flies great
just 30 wow
What material
Where can I get the 2D planes files
@@gabcasmo it's in the description
when you bought it did it come with the material
The fact that people can make this type of cool things out of cheap things is mind blowing
I can not believe i watched this for a full hour
Awesome instructions, explaining the best way to assemble this plane. It's evident you have a lot of experience working with foam board. Thanks for keeping it real!
A piece of posterpaper over the wing servo will make it look cleaner :). Ty FT.
Mmmm,Great idea man didn't even think about that.
This Corsair was a first rc airplane that I build, I started 6 months ago and now it's ready to fly.
would love to see mighty mini spitfire!!! to join my mighty mini mustang and corsair :), loving the planes thanks guys!
This is by far the best looking of the minis. It has the best scale appearance.
YES.... Finally this is the only one i've been waiting for. Good things come to those that wait
That was absolutely insane when you maneuvered the airplane around the pole… you are a great pilot!!!
that's a masterpiece bro...1 hour on this & no regrets, keep up the good work 👍
Now make them bigger!
AscottSauce, Kinkos can make these plans as big as you want.
+David Rhoads too bad that won't help you. mass, surface area, and power do not scale at the same rate so you will quickly lose performance with size until it can't do shit.
I had Kinkos blow up a 54" Ultimate Biplane to 74" (just a bit over 1/3 scale, and with a 3W110 I have no complaints. Well, I had no complaints, till I crashed it coming out inverted from a knife edge spin, or I should say trying to come out inverted.
I. Am Gonna make That
I said that to my girlfriend.
He didnt show us the measurements
You are awesome engineer ماشاءاللہ and very generous to share your knowledge, I always enjoy your videos a lot.
I made this plane and its so sick!! My dad told me to put some wheels on it so he helped me with that and yeah :)
what other battery works?
Did you cut the win so the wheels can fold in?
This is one I always wished there was a "full size" version of...
With all the extra Poster Board curves and the Cowling - this would be a nice in between from Swappable to Master Series Kit! 👍👍
Great job! thank you for the great work you and the FT team do on this and the many other videos you all have made. O cant wait to sink my eager teeth into this great looking plane!
+Watt Waster You got me WW. I guess I do like the taste of the paper and foam.... ; ^ ) Good luck to your endeavors! Keep Flying!
The hellcat was cooler, I wanna find a way to attach BB's to the wings.
I have built two of these, the first as a glider, since I had no small servos. I used half a roll of pennies in the nose, iit flew well. Well I ordered up some 5 gram servos and built another it did not disappoint.... one of my favorite little flying things.
Great video! Why does everyone say, “hold it until the glue dries”? Hot glue doesn’t dry, it cools.
Haha, I think most people can't help it when they associate glue with drying, even if they know better.
This speed build kit is awesome!!!! You've done a really great job, Peter. Thanks.
Well went from looking at models to this, pretty sure I'm gonna give this a try
Flitetest, you guys are awesome! i got this mini Corsair & the mini Mustang. I finished the Corsair & put a lot of detail on it. It looks badass. I added a 6 axis gyro & i'm puting a micro FPV camera in it. I can't wait to maiden this thing. I'm going to get the Master Series Corsair next.
ooooooo snap I've been waiting for this since they last one blew up with rockets
V
"Be careful of your fingers at all times" as he swings the knife around :D
thats typically peter :P
I would love to see a larger version of the Corsair
Then make one
Just ordered a corsair with the F power kit, got a 650mah 3s lipo and new flysky receiver/transmitter coming also, my first rc plane, cant wait!
i think a german fw 190 would be pretty cool
NoahCraft99 I'm a bubble
NoahCraft99 i have a 45 inch wingspan fw190 and on its maiden the expo was completely wrong so i flew it straight into a tree cause i couldnt correct it
rip
Josh Hulboy lol cool but rip
how about a bf 109?
Great build super easy, i wrapped the cowling in carbon fiber with a little resin to help the CG come foward, and strengthen for crashes, im in the process of reproducing the poster board skin pieces in preshaped, cured carbon fiber also, then just bond with hot glue👍
Peter needs his own shirt “hot glue is HOT”
I love Peter's videos
Could you guys make a mini SR-71 black bird?
Thiele
Yeah with $10 ramjet engines lol
4 years and Waiting
Lel
You make a nice video of a real cool model kit and aircraft. Your abilities as a model builder are excellent as are your abilities as an instructor. You really know what you're doing, I'm impressed to say the least. Good job!
Teacher: Ok class what did you learn today?
Students: hot glue is indeed hot
*And glue is indeed gluey*
The tape on the tail assembly is very Parkzone like XD. Well done Peter!
You guys should build a Dornier Do-335
What a strange aircraft. 👍
Yep, or a ju52. I've always wanted one , as it stands right now im going to end up building a .60 or bigger, i would be happy with a micro.
Yes war thunder plane
@@thoubythenameofwool Not quite a "War Thunder Plane", it did exist in real life as well.
Have to say thank you guys ! Awesome Channel, awesome flying machines, and tons of free stuff :) Thank you !
Great video. I don't build kits, but this has got me to thinking I should have a crack at them.
+Gary Lowe Scratch build man, $3 airframes are the bomb.
It would be great to have you in the community!
christian luciani $3 where?!?!
+heriberto morales dollartree foamboard.
F4U Corsair my favorite airplane of all time. Very nice representation of it, Thank you Flite Test!!!
"The hot-glue is indeed hot" count: I dont even¨know anymore
I'm building this one now. Bummed to hear that Peter isn't a part of FliteTest anymore. This is a beautiful design.
+FliteTest u made me get in the hobby like crazy u made me buy about 50 dollar tree foamboards, a drone(syma x 5 + fpv modifs)and a parkzone pole cat.pls do a review on the polecat
I like how the plane is made out of cheap foam but then you have to have a crazy robot controller thing to fly it
whats ur hobby
me: watch someone build a plane for an hour
Brilliant job FT. The plane was just great and I hope to see more great planes like this. I hope to see a passenger jet such as a 787 or an a380. Then I would probably buy it the day it gets released. Keep up the good work FT.
MINI MESSERSCHMITT BF109!!!!!!!!
Jeremy T yes!!! I would like that!
Jeremy T yes or Mitsubishi zero and check out channel please my same name for account and channel
ME 262😁
Yeessssss
YES!!!!!! or a b29!?
this is real man's asmr!
A nose-heavy plane doesn't fly well. A tail-heavy plane only flies once.
Wise words.
Thomas Lieb kjjn
Yes right
Bo Peradotto yes yes yes it is right;-)
to do so, to make it more weight on the tail works best on several odcinkah tail
Also a great til from me a former plastic modellers use rubber bands or moddeling clamps to keep things tenporarily down great content I'm building this as my first rc aircraft
You should make schematics for a 3d printer so you can print parts out and have a more durable plane!
3d printed plastic is less wearing than what he is using.
This guy makes it look so easy, I'm building it without a kit and the foam isn't looking that straight
Please please please. An Airbus a380 or a Boeing 787 or any passenger jet. The big ones.
Or 767-300
Boeing 747-SP, built for Pan Am, but only for the Miami to Rio Di Janero runs, in the Summer of 1978, the Morning!!! 😱😊😂😂😂😅😅
Great idea - unfortunately I think they’d need to be rather large in order to get enough lift from some substantial wings - it’s gonna have a big body. Also the windows are helpful for making it look scale & detailed. That’s 220 windows on an Airbus A380, or 202 windows on a Boeing 747-400.
PS I vote Boeing 747 because i) the bump up front makes it instantly distinguishable as a 747 and ii) because America 🇺🇸🗽 🥰
I only found out about this site today. I am making foamboard air planes too. You are so cool. I'm a beginner, but I'm going to try my best . thank you the good information
Slightly anticlimactic not seeing them all painted up for their first flights.
Those were my two favotite planes from that era.
heads up every body ft is stepping up their game big time. i usaually found the quality to be kinda lacking with the sbk but this time i got the perfect lazer cuts and this was my favorite build yet . keep up the good work
"Mind your fingers because hot glue is really, really hot" no crap Sherlock
yeah i burned myself once
He’s saying that to let dum dums know whether it is hot or not
AWWW YISSS!! ive been waiting for a ft corsair since the spitfire came out....THIS GUNNA BE GUD
Is it hot Peter? Is it indeed hot?
Indeed 😳😆
If anyone is feeling lazy there is also the F4U Funfighter from HK but change the ESC and the motor quality can be a lottery as are most items from HK. It flies well and is fast with a 4S, 850mAh Lipo.
hmmm....make a p-38 lightning!
+Jad Collado (Battlemach1ne) yes plz someone make a p38
+Jad Collado (Battlemach1ne) Check out the DTF P-38 I'm working on: www.nerdnic.com/nnp-38.html
Wow, thanks man!
+Nic Lechner , You get an A++ on that P38 . Nice man
Nice! Next time add a couple of mirrors for a split screen effect.
Good job building nice flying you did a great job for a miniature foam airplane
try to make a messersmicht 262
one practical tip is that insted of having the knife fully extended you could have the knife just one or two sections out for more knife control
14:57 PowerPodMotorMountPodThingy™
Me and a couple of friends built this plane for a school project and jesus it was hard. We should've chosen something similar
I want to b a flight test guy
+4thGloryMonday Who don't want that?!
+4thGloryMonday So whats stopping you?All you have to do is think of a good design then build it.
+LogansPortPilot RP im so poor i cant buy the materials
get a job
Theweldmasster just wait im still 15 bro
i dont normally comment on any videos, but this video was exceptional, amazing work, and great video, thanks for sharing it.
"Hot glue is indeed hot."
Built one, as a glider, for the grandkids ... half a roll of pennies in the nose and it glided so well, I built another this time with power ...little worried about CG , but I have a box of foam ...
JATO JATO JATO JATO JATO JATO JATO JATO
Some pros and cons my opinion only, This is a real nice kit too all around here at least its one wing,LOL.Make sure you have a good gluegun and not cheap junk.I bought a DR-1 Tri-plane and electronics recently & there were issues but they were resolved by Flitetest there great. It was fun to build the Dr-1 even with the issues. You need alot, and I say alot of patience for first timers Im a second timer.I bought the plans for a DR-1 with a 36inch wingspan online and built it with dollartree foamboard it was easier for me at least to build that one. These guys in the videos are seasoned and make it look very simple which is good market strategy I guess.Pre-bent landing wire and screw throttle stops on servos would of helped me alot in my DR-1 kit build. Its ridiculous to bend zbends in cramped situations takes some practice. The landingwire and servo push wires gauge and hardness is overkill and very hard to bend not necessary for a kit this size even on landing gear, but I guess its cheaper and keeps the cost for the kit down. Also in this Corsair kit why not put the servos for the aielrons on the underside of the wing just curious?????Not too aesthetic in my opinion Glenn in N.Y.Rest of the plane looks fantastic for what it is....
Love it I would like to see ww2 bombers that can drop a pay load just like a real one like a Michael or a Flying Fortress
drop lawn darts on your enemy
Just ordered mine!! Can’t wait. Keep up the awesome job guys!!
Disclaimer: Hot glue is hot
peter: hot glue is indeed hot
me: isn't that why it's called hot glue
each like is how much he said "hot glue is indeed hot"
Great build, and you're doing a great job on the videos Peter!
That was a Miracle in Foam Core!!! 🏆👏👏👏👏🍻🍻🍻
I'm more OCD..... So I would clean up some Body lines with longer Poster Board, and move the Wing Servos UNDER the Wing, with a thin cover over them - even Tape. And figure out a way to make a CLEAR Canopy, with at least a basic (Lightweight) Pilot and Cockpit.
Other than those things, that is the BEST Foam Core Design I've ever seen!!!
~ Carmine 💥 ⛽
Use clear lightweight plastic
For the cockpit
You make this look rly easy
They fly fantastic guys!
This guy is every where
The resolution of a servo doesn't change when you pick a hole on the servo horn. The speed, throw and torque change.
The further away from the rotation point, the more speed, more throw and less torque you get.
You still have the same amount of 'steps' between full throws.
More "steps" for the same amount of distance the push rod travels. More res.
+ShareCraft only if you can increase the amount of steps
Why is cutting the foam so satisfying?
Almost finished building mine! It will be my first rc airplane ( been practicing on a simulator)
Instead of using hot glue on the control surface creases, clear packaging tape works like magic
In stead off a Razer knife I used a old gas card and put a edge on one side and it works real well not cutting through the paper
Ops its instead of a Razer knife
Hey brosss .I'm a crazy fan of you.i supposed to say this you guys are awsome..... i'm such an Crazy rc lover From india.....
you guys should definitely make a scaled up version!
I love car but the planes...I love too!
This is such a cool build. Your knife is really long though. I’d pull back a little to keep from cutting myself but to each his own
Funny to see each of you build because you all build differently
Pls make a Douglas BTD Destroyer, its a beautiful looking plane and a bit square. Hope its not too much of a challenge
Brilliant Design Peter!
Muy buen trabajo. Excelente explicación para quienes estamos iniciando en el aeromodelismo.
It's weird seeing a no-nonsense Peter
