Check out the first part of that duck plane thing, my comment is the top one and in the comments of that comment josh bixler says that the SR-71 was officially added to the list.
Extremely rare in the wild, the albino Corsair lacks the naval camouflage of its brethren. This is a distinct disadvantage and makes it survival to it current size extraordinary. I feel very fortunate to have seen this.
I think a video on the tech channel about this spar style and how to make the removable wing, and also how to cut out similar spars without power tools or laser cutters. It'd be helpful for the community monster projects.
My dad was WWII SW Pacific theater veteran, and he would have loved seeing this Corsair fly. Back in 1967 he help me make a 1/48 scale Corsair model, and I still have it. This, and your Zero videos are two of my favorites. I had an uncle who was a pilot in the Imperial Japanese Navy. In fact he and my dad fought on opposite sides in the Philippines at the very same battle Lingayen Gulf. I'm looking forward to seeing the Zero, and the Corsair in a dogfight. Wish my dad and uncle could see it too. Keep up the great work.
Just been catching up with the FT videos and that Corsair looks stunning. Can't wait to see it painted up. Hearing Noah talk about the presence it had in the air made me wonder, has anyone ever done an AVRO Vulcan yet, especially in a monster size? Whether it be with EDFs or props, I bet that would very definitely have some presence!
I love to see flying toasters, etc. as much as the next guy, but "real" airplanes are what get me most excited. I'm fired up for the new mini Corsair, and this giant one is just wonderful!
Built and flew several. Have one now. My all time best flying airplane. Fast, slow, always smooth, very forgiving, I really don't understand how some people complain about it's stability. If you get the spar right, they're pretty indestructable.
I'm sorry, but one of my favorite videos is the Cozy Coup. I don't consider that a failure.... My other is the flying chair. Stefan, you nailed it brother!
You already made Cabby from Disney's Planes Fire and Rescue. Now you have made Skipper from Disney's Planes. Now he just needs his paint job, number 7, and Jolly Wrenches squadron insignia.
My Grandfather was secounded to the USAF from the RNZAF as an armourer to help with the fitting and debugging of the guns on the Corsair. Cheers from NZ
I'm never tyred to see this video.. This is what I'm waiting to see as the corsair lover.. Hope you guys can build bigger than Jurgen Schonle build... Love this build so much 😍😍😍😍😍
Yes, that plane was my dream RC model! I started building one. Only having to change my ideas. Started college and had to set that stuff aside. And didn't get back into it since then.
I remember when I went to airventure was the first time I saw a corsair in person. When I first saw it, chuck yeager was flying and and doing aerobatics, then he came in and landed and I was blown away at just how big it is!
Great video! Loved the pictures of the history and background of the Corsair and the flights with the fall colors were really fun to watch. Great content, great work. Keep 'em coming.
Thank you for reproducing the greatest propeller-driven aircraft in world history. Ya, I love the F4U Corsair. I am 57 and I have dreamed of flying one or in one my entire life. Take the time to read her life history and you too will love her. I told my wife, years ago, that if I ever get the funds I want to build a replica full scale working F4U and learn to fly it. She said ok but she wants a Jaguar. Anyway, thank you. I loved the video.
@@DPWingo I have 2 crappy cell phone videos of it flying ony youtube channel, I'm trying to get a free day soon and have my brother chase it with his HD 4" drone. Those 2 older videos I just had my cell phone propped up on a bench and tried my best to fly past it. Horrible, I know, but it shows the speed somewhat
I saw a Corsair do a mock battle with a Zero at the WWII Exposition in Reading Airport (Reading PA). Of course, that was almost twenty years ago. It's still my all time favorite plane.
Yeah, that would be pretty cool to drop the used batteries by parachutes. Might have to make a special no friction connecter for the battery though so it can slip out easily. This is exactly the kind of cool problem that I'd love to see FliteTest solve.
Still would love to see you make a P-63 King Cobra with the motor in the middle and shaft driven prop. Also I think a giant H-1 Hercules flying boat would be awesome for next spring/summer when it warms back up. I'm sure you guys could build and get one in the water/air now but I assume you have other projects lined up till the end of this year.
@@chriscrawford1958 mine was built off the old master series corsair, so I ended up building a plywood inner fuselage. Looked like my plane swallowed a simple stick.
The Corsair wasn't bent winged because of the prop size, or the Hellcat would have had the same issue since it had nearly the same engine and propeller setup. The gullwing was done to shorten the landing gear.
Yeah, the corsair had a HUGE 3 or 4 blade prop, so let's use this dinky little two-blader... just picking on you guys, what an amazing model, you guys are the best!
That’s great! I’d love to see you guys mark out a true to scale aircraft carrier deck and do a full launch, fly and recover “on deck” with arrester gear 👌
Awesome to get that much force on the wing spar. Would be wild to see that much force while flying inverted. Part of me wants to see how it holds in the upright orientation, though. Could also look into modular, medium infill 3D printed versions, with a standard center section, and wing behavior-specific wing nubs that attach.
Hey guys great job! Id also really like to know what that lite tunnel thing ia hanging up on your wall in the hallway? Its awesome! And Josh your very blessed to work with your son everyday and enjoy it! 👍😎
The beam is calculated by second moment of area. This relates to the depth of the beam not the thickness of wood to make it from. This means you can be quite thin but have the bending strength. The only other loading would be the backward bending force when in a dive.
When y'all were showing the actual plane flying at airshows, it reminded me that the Corsair used to be my favorite prop engined plane, that is until I saw the Grumman Bearcat at an airshow. Holy Schneikies! That thing was the epitome of poison engined performance! Unfortunately, it came too late to the party and jets were coming into their own.
You should build a giant SR 71 blackbird ,
I am very persistent
someone in the flite test fans facebook group already did
Check out the first part of that duck plane thing, my comment is the top one and in the comments of that comment josh bixler says that the SR-71 was officially added to the list.
they should race them
or a xb 70 Valkyrie
blackbird

Special Antarctic camouflage.
Snowbird configuration
Need to put a sound system in it with the real radial engine sounds. That would be cool.
Put a real radial engine in
The reason why I love that plane is because my grandpa flew a Corsair in the Korean war

'Great build, but some are still waiting for a Monster build scale B-17 with FPV turrets
YESSS! Actually, that would be pretty dang awesome.
That NEEDS to happen!!
