Double Doe Archery Kill - Oct 14, 2014

  • When it rains, it pours... an accidental discovery of a hot food source resulted in an afternoon covered up in deer - two of which took the Thunderhead treatment. I was headed into a section of woods where I hoped to locate a good trail and find a tree to climb. However, I came across some white oaks on the way in, covered with fresh deer sign, and decided to climb the best tree I could find. Hope you enjoy the hunt...

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Seems there's a lotta whiny bambi lovers in here. But let me tell you something. Those deer tasted a lot better than your Kale and Tofu.

Wow! This is a fantastic video! Two deer on an archery hunt, eh, on what appears to be public land, I'm guessing? My hat goes off to ya, my fellow bowhunter! I'll be keepin' my eyes peeled, for more vids from your channel, as I see you love to catfish, as well. Catfishin' is another one of my passions!

Thank you, glad you liked it. Was one of my best hunts for sure. It was some random spot on public land that I had walked through last year on the last day of season. I don't have too much catfishing video, but I did get some footage of a trip to Normandy Lake in TN a month or so ago... might upload that one at some point, I managed to catch a good eating sized flathead and a couple other fish.

I'll definitely be watchin' more of your videos! You may be interested in mine, as well. I, too, love to catfish, & have quite a few catfishin' videos available for viewing. When the channel cats are biting, at my home lake, it's not hard for me to boat fish in the 5 to 8 pound range. This afternoon, I'll be headin' off on my third bow hunt of our Missouri season!

Hey man, I like your video style. I often watch other channels to get ideas and to see how they do things. Everyone has a similar style but every once in a while, I find a channel that does things a little differently. Your videos are informative and entertaining. Lots of cut aways, great editing and successful hunts. You got a great channel. You seem to have some great hunting spots. I'm limited here in Pennsylvania on my spots, and manage to take a few. My on camera kill shots need some work too. Anyway, I'm a new sub and enjoy your videos. You got a new fan!

Nice 2 see u make the correlation that the fawns would go away & come back. That's always a good sign. Have u ever thought about going cut on contact with a short broadhead of great quality. Ethics archery has a great variety of inserts which r machined with excellent tolerances. U r getting them close which is more than half the battle. It would be nice 2 see your quarry stay in camera view after the shot. It is possible with a little more weight with a broadhead u will never shy away from putting a little tighter on the shoulder cuz it performs better than most. Keep up the short distant kills. It inspires people 2 do things right.👌

Wow Carman, a little tougher crowd than usual. I don't know about you but I don't get mad at folks like your critics. A lot of these people aren't outdoorsmen or women. They like deer and it bothers them to see them hunted and killed. We, as Hunters know that there is no law against harvesting a doe (in season with the appropriate license and tags). If you're going to try to do something about decreasing the deer's population those should be the first to go. You go about this in a very ethical manner, from your shot placement to making every effort to recover all your game. I will continue to be fan through this and any up coming seasons.

No one hunts that area besides you??? I tell you what though, you got me pumped up for early bow season. Time for some target practice. Hee-yaah! I shot my first deer which was a buck, in a tree stand for the first time, in my first hunting season, with a muzzle loader. After that I got hooked. The harvested meat will sustain you for a while. That is the best part of it. Deer venison every night. Tasty.
I now have a bear bow and itching for some slightly warmer weather to shoot me some targets.
Wish you all the best. Thanks for the video!

This whole discussion about killing those animals... Most of these people that are watching are city people. Hunting is in the world for such a long time, for a food source. Yeah you are a bad person if you kill a animal just for fun, you aren't one if you hunt for a reason, what most likely will be food or being in danger. You eat what you kill (except all those mices and rats around here that I trap..), thats my opnion.
