As I mention at the end of the video, it's a bad idea to depend upon hitting bone for something like this to work. Regardless, the product never worked as intended and wouldn't even break a windshield with a direct hit: ruclips.net/video/OISy9exvCyI/видео.html

The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly ruclips.net/user/postUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.

Looking forward to seeing it. If you haven't done your voiceover yet, you might mention that bowhunters do everything they can to avoid hitting meat and that this head is designed for hitting the vitals in a deer or hog, which are much softer. That why I was especially frustrated that it was so hard to get it to go off in gel.

Are u checking the primer? Try shooting a tree? Once they do work you’ll also find that without a barrel there is no power behind the bullet itself on powder. Try making a barrel design so the bullet can gain momentum and power and see what happens 2⭐️

  • @BlueSkyCountry
    @BlueSkyCountry 6 лет назад +6

I have personally never used this product but from the reviews, it turns out to be more of a flub than anything else. For starters, the lack of a barrel means that the gunpowder would not have much space or time to properly burn at all. I have always said, that the key to successfully hunting big game with a bow, is having an excellent quality broadhead. Two bladed or three bladed, with adequate sharpness and penetrating point. An arrow functions the same way as a knife or sword that is thrown at high velocity, and you want the cutting edge to be extremely sharp.

I think the strongest message is that ballistic gel is NOT an analog of an animal body - it provides a proxy that can be compared for penetration measurements, but it isn't a usable experimental medium for tests such as these.
I also think a .357 blank, facing backwards, with a firing pin ahead of it that impacts the primer when the nose of the projectile deforms might provide a viable explosive head that would incapacitate a large animal, but I'm not sure that wouldn't fall under explosive device or some such under NFA rules. And I think it's an open question whether or not an arrow's velocity is adequate to provide the deformation needed.
    Interesting test!

  • @Baka_Mop

Isn't that kinda redundant? I mean, a fixed broadhead arrow and a well placed shot will kill it and you also don't have to deal with shrapnel in the meat. I've bit down on shotgun pellets in meat before, not fun.

Stick this into a bears hip bone, knee or ankle and you've got yourself a big animal that can't charge any more. I doubt it would make it past the skull though. Bear skulls are stupidly thick. And as for a cape buffalo? Forget about the head. I don't think they even have brains, just a huge ball of bone and sinu. They run off of a windows 95 comp they keep hidden in their fur.

Back in the 80s I did some experiments with my fiberglass recurved. I used every caliber of shotgun shell 10 gauge, 12 gauge, but it turned out. The best was the 410. Slipping an aluminum casing over the shotgun shell and putting an improvised head on the arrow to detonate the primer. You could accurately hit your target and blast it to pieces within 100 yards. The ones with the 10 gauge shells worked perfectly, but were more akin to a mortar because of the weight.

I forget the name of the pistol but there were so many problems that it was a
joke. You can still find them from time to time at gun shows but the ammo
is nonexistent any more except in museums or private collections as oddities.
Back in the late 50's or early 60's I was able to see one of the Rocket Pistols
tested. Range was not good, Accuracy was a joke and it was not very well
though our or designed at the time. Hammer hit the front of the round
driving it back to the firing pin. the hammer fell forward to release the round
when it ignited. it it would have had an electrical firing system it might have
worked better but I doubt it. Another folly that failed.

I'll address all of your questions:
Killing animals with a bow is stupid.
More stupid or less stupid than spending 9:51 watching a video on a subject you disagree with? This is, of course, assuming you watched the entirety of the video (which is the defining factor in whether your not you've earned the right to even have an opinion).
      Is it for fun?
      Rather.
where is the fun for the animal; that feels the pain?
I was shot once by a stray bullet while traveling in Texas. Albeit a bullet and I lived, it was not fun. I doubt getting killed with an arrow is any more or less fun.
Are you a good shot? I hope so for the animal.
As indicated by the 9:51 you spent watching this video: yes. It seems he is an adequate shot.
Most of those "hunters" are not.
You'll excuse me if I have a hard time buying into your theory that "most hunters are not good shots" coming from someone clearly anti-hunting. It's like me telling you most gun-ban advocates are excellent marksmen.

I have nothing against hunting, but this is ridiculous.
All ethical concerns aside it's also an arrow you can't reuse, will scare away any other game in the area, the explosion will ruin a good portion of the meat and the contaminants from the blast will ruin even more of it.
