As I mention at the end of the video, it's a bad idea to depend upon hitting bone for something like this to work. Regardless, the product never worked as intended and wouldn't even break a windshield with a direct hit: ruclips.net/video/OISy9exvCyI/видео.html
TWANGnBANG this will get all our bow hunting outlawed
SmiloGaming oh shut up🙄
@@georgezink6338 there are already laws that specifically state the broadheads that may be used.
I'm pretty sure you would need to be standing back a little farther for a compound bow
It was still a pretty cool vid.
The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly ruclips.net/user/postUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.
He’s finally combines the twang and the bang. You’ve reached your final form.

jason arce I am no hunter but archer and I know how much a .38 round can do, you have my total agreement and high five
jason arce i am a hunter and i totally agree. wouldn't bother at all with this, inefficient and i wouldn't feel comfortable using it on an animal.

Sounds more like Italy and France if you ask me.
Just dont forget to bring it to school.
To be fair, there are historical instances of swords, katars, and even war hammers with wheel-lock mechanisms installed in them, so... Not even just america. :P
I really don't see how that would be good for hunting. Seems like it would cause waaaay to much damage to the meat and you'd end up throwing away a big portion of your kill.
Exactly what I was thinking. Add some lead, burnt gunpowder, and random debris from arrowhead and bullet casing to your freshly harvested meat. Seems like a good way to taint your food; in other words: a waste of money, time, and game.
Don't you think that the lungs is the best kill zone. Hardly any meat on the sides of deer. It's illegal anyway.
I think it’s just a novelty arrowhead

Looking forward to seeing it. If you haven't done your voiceover yet, you might mention that bowhunters do everything they can to avoid hitting meat and that this head is designed for hitting the vitals in a deer or hog, which are much softer. That why I was especially frustrated that it was so hard to get it to go off in gel.
Are u checking the primer? Try shooting a tree? Once they do work you’ll also find that without a barrel there is no power behind the bullet itself on powder. Try making a barrel design so the bullet can gain momentum and power and see what happens 2⭐️

Great video! I really thought putting the hide in front would have done the trick using just the bow. I haven't seen any videos from users that would make me run out and buy these things.
Thanks! I think they had a good idea modeling an arrowhead after spearfishing powerheads, but the performance just isn't there.
I have personally never used this product but from the reviews, it turns out to be more of a flub than anything else. For starters, the lack of a barrel means that the gunpowder would not have much space or time to properly burn at all. I have always said, that the key to successfully hunting big game with a bow, is having an excellent quality broadhead. Two bladed or three bladed, with adequate sharpness and penetrating point. An arrow functions the same way as a knife or sword that is thrown at high velocity, and you want the cutting edge to be extremely sharp.
8:12 that's what she said
I can fit my whole fist inside of that

Maybe try freezing the watermelon and allow the outside defrost a little bit so the center is still frozen so you get some penetration before it hits the hopefully harder core.
Bill Flint That is a fantastic idea! I'll do that anytime I try something like this again.
***** the point is to make it hard enough for testing.. a deer is already hard enough, dont need to freeze it dumbass.
***** The point of shooting the watermelon was simply to see it blow up for fun as I mention in the video.
Whoever sold you that crossbow had a wonderful sense of humor.
“No, this didn’t go off... “ with fingers right on explosive cartridge... KABOOM!!!
If the primer isn't set off by the initial impact it's unlikely that it will go off afterwards. That said, I'd give it a couple minutes before touching it myself.
Thought crossed my mind too.
@@williamsmidt5391 a mistake in the making, god stupid.
Walter Jacques
Had me cringing in fear when he pushed the round clear. Quickly realizing the video wouldn’t be available otherwise.....stopped cringing......and started crying in pity for poor folks who’ll be tempted likewise. Bad example there, Bud.
I think the strongest message is that ballistic gel is NOT an analog of an animal body - it provides a proxy that can be compared for penetration measurements, but it isn't a usable experimental medium for tests such as these.
I also think a .357 blank, facing backwards, with a firing pin ahead of it that impacts the primer when the nose of the projectile deforms might provide a viable explosive head that would incapacitate a large animal, but I'm not sure that wouldn't fall under explosive device or some such under NFA rules. And I think it's an open question whether or not an arrow's velocity is adequate to provide the deformation needed.
Interesting test!
Isn't that kinda redundant? I mean, a fixed broadhead arrow and a well placed shot will kill it and you also don't have to deal with shrapnel in the meat. I've bit down on shotgun pellets in meat before, not fun.
Who said it's for game? I'm sure it works just as well on humans.
Still redundant when you could just get a pistol that uses the same caliber.

@@TWANGnBANG I do not think it means what you think it means.
that is an awesome idea. good thing to have if you were ever in a situation where you needed to draw attention away from where you are.
no animals were harmed AFTER the make of this video
actually ... that might have happened
I'm sure some animals went deaf. ;)
I could see this being good for hunting bear or cape buffalo, or something else that can hunt you back. Stick this into a bears hip bone, knee or ankle and you've got yourself a big animal that can't charge any more. I doubt it would make it past the skull though. Bear skulls are stupidly thick. And as for a cape buffalo? Forget about the head. I don't think they even have brains, just a huge ball of bone and sinu. They run off of a windows 95 comp they keep hidden in their fur.
+Radar Really I commend your comment good sir.
+Radar Really Only go for kill shot (vitals) on a bear... they will charge you with three feet, or two, or one... if you don't kill them.
+5winder
Never heard of a bear charging with a paw / limb blown off before...
That's awesome. The forward force of the explosion stopped the arrow from penetrating as deep as the previous two, even though you increased the force of the arrow.
try filling an aluminum arrow up with black powder and tape an blasting cap to the tip
Rodney Armstrong you sir are a genius !
You mentioned that most of the damage being caused by gas expansion, what then is your opinion on using a blank cartridge. I have a lovely scar on my shin from a misguided safety demonstration from army cadets when I was 14 I know blanks have power close to an object.
richard hollick The best round would be a blank loaded to max capacity.
I made a exploding dart/bullet before , it won't explode if you shoot ground or something soft , if it did explode ! The dart sometimes shoot back to me . Mean your arrow will flew back to you . So be careful ...
Back in the 80s I did some experiments with my fiberglass recurved. I used every caliber of shotgun shell 10 gauge, 12 gauge, but it turned out. The best was the 410. Slipping an aluminum casing over the shotgun shell and putting an improvised head on the arrow to detonate the primer. You could accurately hit your target and blast it to pieces within 100 yards. The ones with the 10 gauge shells worked perfectly, but were more akin to a mortar because of the weight.
Did that tip have the word ACME written on it? I think I've seen Wile E. Coyote use that against the roadrunner once. Didn't work for him either.

Twang and Bang. Literally.
“Wow, I can fit my fist in that!” Seems like I’ve said that a couple times before 🤣
That looks to be almost completely useless for hunting. However, it has redlined my inner Rambo/bow/gun geek meter. I am not a big fan of crossbows but I think that one is pretty damn cool.
Keep up the great videos!
Yeah. This product is a gimmick. Having a round explode inside of an animal would foul the meat you're trying to collect.
Yep. I was hoping for performance more like real bang sticks, which are regularly used to kill sharks and alligators, but alas, this just didn't deliver.
I'm not a fan of elitists or snobs. ;p
time to revisit the windshield test or a car door. I bet a low velocity shot would still set off the round. My question with that application would be could you get a hit on the target behind the glass or door, with the bullet.
I thought of that, as well. I'm not sure I want to buy another pack, though. :)
TWANGnBANG Haha, I'm with ya there.
Bullets have no impact force . A bullet gets is power from gas expansion in a confined space, the barrel.
Protip: if gun bow doesn't work, use barrel on the arrow. Damn, that was funnier in my brain
And Ridge Runner has set us free!!!!, i was going to invest in this company until i read your comment, lets try it out of a revolver and see if it blows the watermelon up!*

With a small dimple on the primer is it safe to actually touch that round don’t have a lot of experience with firearms but I’d be very very careful of that particular round
Not really wait a few seconds if it dosent go off it won't sometimes with old rounds or guns who's firing pin isn't right it may take a few times

Nope. Just not for hunting animals you intend to eat. Imagine hog hunting nuisance javelina in Texas with it. It’s for when you want to blow shit up with your bow, not hunt for food.

@Dan Wang so would a gun
@Dan Wang nope I think zombie tissue is real soft it be through em and hitting brick wall before it would discharge, gimmick schtik.
Pretty much. Either use a gun or bow and arrow.
Game changer: Use a bow that shoots guns. Or a gun that shoots swords
Federal primers are softer than usual.
Maybe you should try them.
werre2 I was going to say that maybe those cartridges have hard primers.
What's that piece called? That body extension that makes it look like a Rifle have a compound bow but I'd love to be able to put a scope on it.
Now let's put a silencer on the exit of that .357 on the tip of the arrow. Perfect for stealth!
Meant to hit bone to detonate not just soft material
The army was testing a pistol with mechanical similarities to the bow mag at one point, except they were using bullet sized rockets. It sucked in testing, so they never approved it.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyrojet
thatotherguy27 The Gyrojet was a neat idea.
TWANGnBANG those actually went into production. Good question, where is the gyrojet? Maybe the Geneva Convention deemed them to be too cruel for war.
More likely that the ammunition was too expensive to manufacture. I think there were civilian models, too, but they just didn't sell.
thatotherguy27 thanks for the Wiki post, it was a good read. My old edition of the shooters bible didn't have nearly as much detail back in 1976 when I read about the Gyrojet. It looks like people invested and lost millions due to flaws in the mechanical design and disregard for produceability. I suppose that history repeats itself .. repeatedly.
thatotherguy27
I forget the name of the pistol but there were so many problems that it was a
joke. You can still find them from time to time at gun shows but the ammo
is nonexistent any more except in museums or private collections as oddities.
Back in the late 50's or early 60's I was able to see one of the Rocket Pistols
tested. Range was not good, Accuracy was a joke and it was not very well
though our or designed at the time. Hammer hit the front of the round
driving it back to the firing pin. the hammer fell forward to release the round
when it ignited. it it would have had an electrical firing system it might have
worked better but I doubt it. Another folly that failed.
We used to take a spent 38/357 casing, a strip of caps, and a cheap wooden arrow( point cut off) and make a bang stick. But we'd fire beyond a thicket we knew deer to be to spook them towards us.
I guess this is useful for home defense but if you hunt with it you would just ruin the meat. Also, I you have access to bullets, why not just use a gun?
kurasa otaku Both the meat issue and the "why not use a gun" question have been addressed. Scroll through the comments if you want to see my answers. Thanks for watching!
TWANGnBANG Okay thanks, I'll check it out tomorrow. :) I'm going to bed now, it's 11:30 PM where I live.
No offense, but I'm not unzipping the bow in the event of a break-in. Maybe if I had ramparts and was repelling Mongol hordes...
In the meantime, I'll stick to many many rds of 5.56 and an angry swarm of .40 S&W to follow up with.
Johnny I. I get your point but Dutch self defense laws are fucked up, if I shoot someone with a legal gun I will go to jail for some fucked up left-wing reason. If I shoot them with a bow then I would most likely get away with it as long as I don't aim for any vital organs. I know, it's retarded, but that's just the way it is until the right wingers are in power again.
Unbelievable. Things are just weird all over. I get it. The world is a softer, gentler place these days. But in my line of work and in my personal life we have a saying: Rather be judged by twelve of my peers than carried by six..
Ribcage.... That is what it most likely requires to discharge the round.

I made one years ago. The and of the arrow was glues to the back of .38 or 12 gage. Shell. The primer is set off by a finishing nail I side the arrow shaft. The nail slams into primer when the arrow hits target. Works every time.
Yeah I'll just stick to my toxic or rage broad heads
Yeah.this seems stupid.
Killing animals with a bow is stupid. Is it for fun? where is the fun for the animal; that feels the pain? Are you a good shot? I hope so for the animal. Most of those "hunters" are not. :(
Rocktron is Back How do you kill the animals you eat, or do you pay someone else to do it for you?
This idea of having to rely on something to explode to kill the animal, that doesn't even work that well if you don't have enough resistance to make the round go off, that's not very "humane" is it...
I killed a buck in its tracks with my bow hit the heart and both lungs bows kill very quickly.
Young Sandwich Yeah, I think that's why he said "as long as your animal has a piece of particle board inside it..." I doubt he's any more impressed with this gimmick than we are.
I'll address all of your questions:
Killing animals with a bow is stupid.
More stupid or less stupid than spending 9:51 watching a video on a subject you disagree with? This is, of course, assuming you watched the entirety of the video (which is the defining factor in whether your not you've earned the right to even have an opinion).
Is it for fun?
Rather.
where is the fun for the animal; that feels the pain?
I was shot once by a stray bullet while traveling in Texas. Albeit a bullet and I lived, it was not fun. I doubt getting killed with an arrow is any more or less fun.
Are you a good shot? I hope so for the animal.
As indicated by the 9:51 you spent watching this video: yes. It seems he is an adequate shot.
Most of those "hunters" are not.
You'll excuse me if I have a hard time buying into your theory that "most hunters are not good shots" coming from someone clearly anti-hunting. It's like me telling you most gun-ban advocates are excellent marksmen.
So this arrow tip is pretty "pointless" ... pun intended. Just use a gun or real arrowhead instead for a more "humane" kill.
yeah exactly. its cool but not needed, also ineffective
Have you people even hunted before? I have for over 30yrs. Had broadheads zip completely through the kill zone. Sometimes the hide will close up and no blood. And other times it kinda explodes. And fall within 10ft. Things are not always humane.
Heard of putting a shotgun primer in an arrow, and gluing a BB to it. Filling the entire arrow with black powder and compressing it.
Supposedly makes a long cavity if it explodes, but mostly cool to shoot hard targets with. Watch for aluminum or fiberglass shards though.
He sounds like Randy from the Trailer Park Boys
So the conclusion seems to be it doesn't work and ruins your arrows.
More marketing of crap fir the sheeple.
This guy's too edgy to appreciate your triumph. Keep it up. You'll perfect it sooner or later.
Awesome review on these terrible arrow tips. I want to like these things and use them, but they just seem so terrible. I would never use hunting though because my G5 heads are much more effective and humane.
Cordjunkie Yep, any popular broadhead will be more effective than this at humanely killing game animals. Thanks for watching!
YexaC You should see how a pack of coyotes do it. They start eating before the deer is dead.
If you are ok with eating deer but not willing to take responsibility for bringing it to your plate then I am at a loss for the hypocrisy of your comments.
TWANGnBANG
That's the way I think about it too. If you can be more human than the average predator, you're doing a good job.
Calling something basic logic and replying in a condescending way does not do anything to strengthen your ideas or prove your point.
My suggestion to him is hone the firing pin to a finer points as the resistance that flesh does not provide will not set off the round consistently, a finer points will offset the need for heavier drag.
I don't think it's a good idea to do so. According to laws of momentum: the bullet will slow down and push the arrow in backward direction. That's why it does not penetrate much in ballistic gel
but it fires a projectile out of the bullet
@@magiccat3772 Yes, but for bullet will push the arrow backward. And it will not penetrate much.
but it fires a round point blank, so even if the arrow did not pen because of the back pressure there is still shoot shrapnel off the tip that continues into the vitals.
the arrow has enough mass and momentum for it to not get blown back so it will still fire the shrapnel/projectile off the tip into the target causing more damage than an a hunting tip
no one hunts jelly that's why it doesn't go off
animals are more rigid
I do! :(
What a wonderful way to magnify the suffering of the animal...
It would probably kill the animal a lot quicker
Vegan spotted
Beta male
Ok... your insults make you look children.
Simple fact is this would more often than not let the animal live for just long enough to run away for a bit while in excruciating pain as a large chunk of it's side has been blown open and burned away, really bleeding slowly to death is a more peaceful death than this.
I have nothing against hunting, but this is ridiculous.
All ethical concerns aside it's also an arrow you can't reuse, will scare away any other game in the area, the explosion will ruin a good portion of the meat and the contaminants from the blast will ruin even more of it. This arrow has all the downsides of hunting with an unsuppressed gun and all the downsides of hunting with a bow, and none of the benefits of either.
@@robadc it looks like a waste of resources, and I looks like It would pollute the meat.

TWANGnBANG plus that'd be treeson

That’s a federal offense to shoot at trees when it’s not tree season
Hey brother, sharpen the firing pin. A smaller point means more pounds per square inch on the primer. And less pressure on impact will set it off.
A sharpened pin may pierce the primer. Giving two possibilities: the pin misses the primer anvil and the cartrige does not ignite. Or the pierced primer does ignite but the hole in the back of the cartrige leaks gasses out the back.
