Tungsten Carbide has a long history of use in sub-caliber kinetic penetrators. The carbon fiber round seems to be based off of the old HVAP/APCR design of anti-tank round, but with a more simplistic design. Depending on how fast the round is going, you may be just as well off with a steel penetrator with some other base to increase mass and energy behind it.

The carbon-fiber piercing round was awesome. I'd love to have those for home defence. You just never know when an intruder might be wearing body armor.
I had an idea on making thermite shotgun shells by letting iron pellets rust and electroplating them with aluminum, adding some magnesium phosphate for a better burn. Would probably be notably more unpleasant than dragon's breath shells, since a thermite reaction burns at 4,000 degrees and cannot be stopped.
3:40 The only complexities with supersonic aerodynamics as opposed to conventional aerodynamics are friction heating, which is a material issue, not a shape issue, and the sonic boom caused turbulence, which is a non-issue since it happens inside the barrel.
Do a white phosphorus hollow slug designed to break apart in the airor on impact, filled with a mix of thermite and gasoline, capped off with strike anywhere red phosphorus.
I bet that is hard to remove in the ER. I found an old 78rpm record player in the attic years ago and loaded a 12 gauge with used phonograph needles...amazing because of the unique shape. Could make a sieve out of anything! :)

This is so fricken satisfying. Keep em coming boys!
3:40 The only complexities with supersonic aerodynamics as opposed to conventional aerodynamics are friction heating, which is a material issue, not a shape issue, and the sonic boom caused turbulence, which is a non-issue since it happens inside the barrel.
Do a white phosphorus hollow slug designed to break apart in the airor on impact, filled with a mix of thermite and gasoline, capped off with strike anywhere red phosphorus.
that's one way to blow yourself up if misconstructed.
Don't misconstruct ;)
Thermite wouldn’t need gasoline. If it ignited.
Ever tried a stack of dimes ? Saw it in a movie once years ago.
I bet that is hard to remove in the ER. I found an old 78rpm record player in the attic years ago and loaded a 12 gauge with used phonograph needles...amazing because of the unique shape. Could make a sieve out of anything! :)
You should do another one of these vids! its been another 6 years!
Crazy how far you have come
