Dawn & Kimmy, since you missed it Wednesday and Enid's dorm mother, Marilyn Thornhill was played by Christina Ricci who played Wednesday in the 1991 / 1993 films "The Addams Family" and "Adams Family Values".

@Storm Akima,you surprise to believe that Pirahnas didn't tear through the plain plastic bags than use hard metal buckets,ha?.
Not saying that it's okay however With the piranhas if you rematch the scene they all seemed to be focused on Dalton as they just swam by other team members. Funny if Wednesday had trained attack piranhas that could survive in chlorine water for just such an occasion.

This we the best adaptation of Wednesday in my opinion i did grow up with the 90,s films but this one just feels more fun and closer to the original ideas of the Addams family

I love this series and have not liked the IP up to this point. In my day the Addams Family and Scooby Doo teamed up and earlier Lurch appeared on Batman.
The problem of the show, which I liked anyway, is that they totally missed what the Addams Family satire is on about.
Before watching the show, I binged all the stuff, from the comics to the movies and cartoons, passing through the original serie, of course, and what they all have in common is the fatct the Addams are not aware to be awkward, but they think to be normal as anyone else, being surprise in return when people get surprised by their spookiness. And the existence of Nevermore itself nerfs this concept.
For example: when Wednesday tells Enid about her scorpion's death, she says "they didn't understand what kind of weirdo could keep a scorpion as a pet", while an original Addams family member would asked why they acted in such a weird way against a normal pet.
THANK YOU. I also enjoyed the show, but this was the one thing holding me back from loving it. Just another example of Tim Burton loving something but not “getting” something and forcing his own personal hangups on the thing he’s adapting (Dark Shadows being the most egregious example). As you say, the cardinal, defining trait of the Addams Family is their utter and absolute acceptance of everyone and everything and their unceasing support and unconditional love for everyone in their family. Being worried Wednesday “wasn’t fitting in” immediately raised red flags for me.
Sounds like that may be a reason they got a license for the IP. They have to be 25% different from previous properties.
For example Wednesday having a fringe.

Fun fact. As u might know Christina ricci is in the show her name appears with the cast. She's the original Wednesday from the movies in the 90s I think and she plays the professor with the flowers and plants ms.Thornhill
