    this is what I've been trying to say lol. i am a bit disappointed that they took the "fast and furious" route with the story but the gameplay was amazing. really fun. decent map, too. i just started 2015 a few weeks ago and it was okay, but Payback is definitely my favorite in the XB1 line of NFS games.

    When I was college student in 2017, everybody hyped with this game because the gameplay, atmosphere, mechanics, and customization shown in the trailer before the day of release were really promising but everything turned into disappointment when the game was finally released, microtransactions everywhere, the absence of police chase in free roam, and the worst thing is the performance improvement system which is like we are playing a casino. Luckily, the quality of the graphics, customization, and art direction don't disappoint.
    If the important elements that existed in 2015 could be brought to Payback maybe Payback could be a title that is strong enough on NFS.

    Dunno. For me, the aesthetic of NFS2015 and the live action cutscenes are unmatched to this day and i'd love to play a new entry in the same vein. With dialogue and writing that makes any sense and it having a good story, of course. It'd be nice if we could change clothes (to show off in the cutscenes if not live action style) and have the ability of romance team mates (if live action styles). I'd buy and play the heck out of it.

    Get rid of that card system and make the engine swap tuning and customization like Unbound and I'll play Payback again in a heartbeat. Off-road races was nice in this game, and I don't know why there's no drag racing again in the two recent games like this one despite having the drag tire in Heat. Also drifting feels much nicer than the new one.

    • @FrankenSama
      @FrankenSama  Год назад

      Exactly. When they made that blogpost about rebalancing the game, I was hoping they would remove the card system, but alas...

      @@FrankenSama there's no way they put so much effort to get rid that system, especially when it probably still making them money somewhat. As the story, I think it's okay they're doing that fast and furious type of story, kinda fits better in action packed gameplay with that car combat system, is just the character dialogue felt so cheesy and bland like a dead fish, it's like 2 years old writes that, but hey story was never their strong suit anyway, when looking back at their old title such as mostwanted it's actually way more cheesier but I think it's bearable at that time or probably no one care because the gameplay is fun.

    • @FrankenSama
      @FrankenSama  Год назад

      Yeah that's the thing, it makes them money. Even if it isn't as egregious right now when it was at launch, they were never gonna replace it because the way they had it set up would've messed with other stuff like shipments and tuning too

    Need for speed Payback has always been my favourite title from the need for speed franchise ive played it maybe 5 times and each time it was a different experience from the last time i played.
    the gameplay has always been my favorite and i just havent found the same experience when playing Need for speed heat.
    the story was whacky and cheesy but again i had a fun time replaying it because of how different the gameplay was to me everytime i played and it was like i was chasing after my own personal best and whith each replay i was getting better which made it more fun.
    i still play nfsP to this day even tho i have the newer titles because of how nice the open world is and how open it is and even tho there are a bunch of restrictions like in the mountain areas i still find it fun to cruise around.
    but one thing that was a deal breaker to me was how they set up the dealerships and tuning in this game.
    i understand they tried to make the game simple by making diff catogories for the cars like for example the Race,drag,drift and runner dealerships you coudnt cross your cars like for example lets say i had a mustang on the race version but wanted to use it in the drift section of the game i coudnt even tho ive noticed that with that mustang i was acc getting more drift points on the little drift activties around the map which sucked because then i had to get amother car and upgrade it either w a catch up back which blew half my money or keep upgrading and waiting for the tuning shop cycle so i can get level 18 parts so then i can finally spin the wheel and hope i get the good perks and not somthing stupid like brakes or air on a drift car.
    and that really ruined the game for me which threw me in a loophole where i was looking for ways to get part tokens and money quick just so i can spin some RNG wheel and hope that i get the part i want.
    now with nfs heat i really loved the fact that if you wanted to make ur race car a offroad car for example all you had to do was chnage your suspenion and wheels and differential not to mention the fact that you can just outright by the parts you need to upgrade ur car from a preformance side like the turbo or exhaust and ofc you had to progress in the "story" if you can even call it that because i dont even remember anything about it. but anyways back to the parts you earned the higher parts by racing at night and getting heat level 5 which was exciting running from the cops and knowing that any mistake could cost you the whole night and any grind you had done.
    i just wished they implemented that in payback instead of what they have now because i really enjoy the setting of payback more then i do in Miami (heat) .
    and i was hoping that the new nfs game would be a mix of what we all wanted but instead we got a cartoonish anime-style game which im not a fan off call me traditional but i prefer the old look of the game.
    my dream nfs game would def be a open world map like vegas or maybe something like it now idk anything abt America but i would love to see that return with need for speed 2015 graphics and cool rain effects and just that nostaglic feel but with a little bit of need for speed heat look to it, with the tuning we got in the newer games and if they ever decide to do it maybe a first person view camera option.
    but other that what i had to say i love the need for speed titles and ill always njoy playing them bcs they are still amazing games dont get me wrong i just would have liked it in a diff way and thats my personal opinion.
    (sorry for the bad english)
    but yeah thats my opion on need for speed in general.
    thank you for reading.

      Your English is good dw but yeah, even though all NFS games are flawed in some way, there's still some fun to be had in them. As much as I don't like Payback's story for example, the gameplay alone carried me from beginning to end

    Payback was always my guilty pleasure NFS. All the complaints and flaws are 100% valid but I some how got really invested in the cheesy dumb plot, despite really not liking new fast and furious movies lol.
    I really had fun making cars to suit each character and spent ages on the liveries and specs to something Id never make for myself or my own character.
    Even had a little initial D tribute where each time id beat one of the teams id get their sticker on my wing or rear, turn it upside down and put a slash through it.
    Can't really explain why I had so much fun doing that but I just did and need to re play

      @rainbrothers7202 Год назад

      YES! payback is one of my favorites NEW need for speed games.
      i made my cars fit the characters aswell. and although i suck at making liveries i tried to make some for race and offroad spec cars.
      i gotta say that at the end of the day the gameplay carried the game.
      i just wish it had same memorable places like 2015 did, or maybe a more aesthetically better looking map. although the night time near the cassino was amazing i gotta say

    0:58 now that's the thing. Playback didn't have that playground kinda map, it rather gave me the vibe of the Salt desert in the crew because this shit is empty. There's a very large Spot arround the Center where there's absolutely nothing except for 2-3 roads. And sure, Hot pursuit also doesn't have much on the map but this game worked different. There it was ok, here it isn't. (also sidenote, how is the only visually good/not broken af game ghost made 2015? It's like they did something good once to immediately create buggy, ugly messes afterwards.)

    • @FrankenSama
      @FrankenSama  Год назад +1

      imo I genuinely think with 2015, after Rivals and now having to focus on next gen only, they prioritized visual fidelity, and the gameplay suffered for it, just like The Order 1886.
      But when they got the feedback they did a complete 180 and prioritized experimenting more with the game design on the next entries (hence more bugs), while visuals took a backseat which is really weird.
      But at the end of the day we really don't know if the budget wasn't there or if the team wasn't competent enough to take risks, which is why I have tons of respects for Unbound for taking a risk with the animated elements.

    • @koda433
      @koda433 Год назад

      Unbound is currently actually one of my favourite "modern" entries. (every thing from 2007 onwards). It just feels way higher quality, since the only Bug I've ever experienced here is a problem with the game not correctly working together with my GPU, which is probably more of a problem caused by me not having Updated my drivers yet. With titles by ghost I had a suprising amount of clipping through the floor, which happened mostly in rivals where the road just didn't load or in heat by hitting a building at over 200 kph.

    esthetically wise, the game doesn't look any better than 2015. could've been improved with ambient and weathers. customization wise it was a huge step from 2015 to payback, more availability of parts and freedom to build either a good looking build, or a riced out car. also the map was huge, i think it's the biggest comparing it to Heat's map (some hidden areas demonstrate that it could've been even bigger)

    2:29 those games are such a massive difference qualityvise. Rivals handling reminds me way too much of nfs most wanted DS as Well as the Bugs do. If Rivals also looked awful they would've really Been on one Level. On the opposite Hand hot pursuit is Probably the most polished nfs out there including the fantastic handling. Imo the game is okay, like the game was basically the basis of nfs heat wich btw isnt something bad .
    Sure its better than nfs 2015 handling and it improved from there on . But the game is still broken when it comes to the tuning system or should i say tuning card system because with that the handling model kinda breaks .
    I don't know if it was Ea's Idea to implement the card system in nfs payback . The handling kind of reminded me of rivals with its more simplistic handling and the map was great too . But luckily we got Nfs heat wich did improved on everything 😁 but still i wouldn't necessarily say its good but it isnt bad neither

      @@FrankenSama Mate in comparison heat I'd say is by far one of the best NFS in Decade . in so many ways better than unbound I don't get it why criterion had to develop this game.
      every time when they make an NFS it become burnout handling (incld crash cams).
      Like if they just improved on the basis of heat like handling and keep features like live tuning (upgrading parts) or even the fact that you don't spwan while launching the game in a gas station would be so nice .
      It's just small things like this why I hate NFS unbound. On top of that the handling feels more torture rather than actual fun . Sense of Speed isn't good and the rear bumper light traces doesn't help.
      The progression feels so forced instead of using the same system as in heat with the day and night cycle system. As well as the lackluster CA Wich i don't care sure it's better than fh5 idling ca and voice over . Like yes we got actual cutscenes but it's not good
