- The matchup of the Boston Celtics vs the Miami Heat has already been one of the most entertaining playoff matchups we’ve seen in quite some time. But with what the Celtics have been pulling as of recently, it’s only made the entire series, and an inevitable 2023 NBA Finals appearance for one of them, that much more interesting.
Ever since falling down 3-0, Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown have seemed to take on a new initiative within the Celtics offense under HC Joe Mazzulla. Over their last two victories, especially in Game 5, they’ve gone out of their way to incorporate all of their role players in Malcolm Brogdon, Marcus Smart, Al Horford, Derrick White, Grant Williams, and even Robert Williams. And unlike the beginning of this series, their new adjustment has resulted in the best offense we’ve seen from them in the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
Then in terms of the Celtics defense, the same can be said in terms of their adjustments paying dividends. But of course with game 6, and possibly game 7 still to come, Tatum, Brown, and the Celtics role players & bench will have to continue what they’ve been showing us in order to pull off NBA history.

Tatums assist and reb this whole playoffs are the biggest thing that stand out to me.. Means he's still growing into that point forward roll.. He gets a lot of shit for a guy who just turned 25 and has improved his game in mutiple ways each season.. When you got other guys who refuse to even work on stuff "cough cough" ben simmons.
Casual fans and experts seem to forget how difficult it is for a young player to step into the #1 role on a Championship contender. The defensive schemes from the best NBA teams can be suffocating.

U can add a lot of names to that not work on their game. A.d. doesn't do shit in summer and then wonders why he always hurt or play is inconsistent. He's lucky he had Bron in 2020. Tatum is still young . People hate hard and on the wrong people most the time.

I notice some Boston players like to stand and pose when they shoot 3's while Miami breaks down court. This has also happened on steals. Hustle back on D every time.

Tatum is a fake superstar. These Celtics clowns have no clue the embarrassment and beating that awaits them tomorrow. Sitting there celebrating like they accomplished something, being in a position they should've never been in. Heat +8 and money line +300. Smash it like you do your mother and daughter. If vincent is back, miami is winning this guaranteed. They are already short handed with herro out, so he is a big difference maker. Butler heard the criticism and will be attacking non stop, and boston will not shoot lights out like that again...so I'm not sure how they can win, unless tatum and brown both go crazy

Came here after game 6, they shot terribly AND had more turnovers than the last 2 games.....and still won. Miami might be doomed if they can't close out against the Celtics when they play like that....especially in their own home.
@@wesleyprince3465 Yeah, that's sports. There is no formula to winning. If white's tip in was literally 0.1 second later, their season would've been over. I for one expected boston to shoot poorly after going crazy from three the last couple of games. So no surprise here. But now game 7, anyone's game. I still think miami will win, because history is on their side, and because boston has been shaky at home, and can't seem to hold a lead. Their willingness to live and die by the three is not good. Especially when miami doesn't even have great rim protection. Why do they keep chucking and letting miami come back?
Tatum and Brown could use some work on their handles against a set defense[Paul Pierce syndrome]. I still can't understand why they are bringing the ball upcourt in crunch time when there are two point guards on the court.
Williams III would benefit from a foul line hook/jumper[a decent corner three is probably too much to ask for].
The Alcindor rule should be reinstated from grade school through college so they don't become reliant on the dunk.
And run a play. Don't just dribble the clock down and launch a fhree, at the end of a quarter.

I was watching the beginning of Game 5 at a Buffalo Wild Wings and I just thought "How did the Celtics get down 3-0?" That first quarter was amazing...

Mazzulla was lost. He was using bizarre rotations and "strategy." I guess after now seeing everything that Miami was going to do, he now knows how to respond.
Celtics been regularly playing down to competition all year tbh. Pretty sure they had a losing record against both the Cavs and Magic during the regular season and also got dogged by San Antonio one time if I remember right.

I'm sure certain games are rigged to a certain extent sure but if the league was as rigged as fans of poop teams claimed, the only teams wed ever see playing for championships would be LA and NY teams or maybe occasionally Boston or Golden State or Miami. Damn sure wouldn't be Denver. Milwaukee never would've won it a few seasons ago either.
