Thank you for actually showing your failed attempt. Too many videos make things look like the easiest thing in the world but then it doesn't go like they showed at all. So thank you for being real with it!

Really great idea, just need a better jack and use 2 clamps on that post would help them not slide as bad.

Just pushing the bricks into the ground, not lifting the post. Put a piece of 2x8 under those bricks.

That'll work in the absence of a better way, like a lifted jeep/truck with a winch on the front, a loader tractor or skid loader with either bucket or forks, a wrecker boom, etc. But for using what the average person has in the garage your way gets it done for those 6" creted holes!

That's amazing! I just want to double-check: your fence post was set in concrete, and you pulled up the post in the concrete?

    • @Jdogg569893

      You are correct!

Follow up: My fence guy had 2 bent posts to straighten (for an old 4’ chain link fence). He could not lift one out with his helper and a farm jack. So they pushed on it and voila, it straightened! They pushed on the other post and it snapped off and broke, so they ended up placing a new post next to that one. (They were bent by the tree guy who didn’t bother to un-hitch his stump grinder from his truck). Anyways this project was, as I suspected, out of my purview.

Honestly, I have no idea. I suppose few good whacks with a sledge hammer would remove the old concrete and good as new.

      Yes, use a concrete breaker.

Sorry for the slow response. They were cemented in. As long as you get the ground moist, it should come up!
