I like how when they all sing together you can distinguish the lines a bit better than in the movie, I feel like when you hear it in the movie you hear more of one voice than the others and its a bit harder to understand as a whole

Love the colab. Anapantsu and leeannlee were very good, big fan. Also mot sure that it was but having the guys and gals sing the opposite roles of the male and female chars made it all the more interesting. The hardest part of the song was the one at the end when all the chars sing their verses really hard to make it good but they did it. Kudos to the colab team

I went through cackling-in-surprise, realisation and grinning like a loon.
And all I was saying was "Jonathan's Abuela".
Like, the casting? Perfect, Beautiful, 10/10. I cooed at Thomas being Isabela, and had to pause to go "yh, I can see that" with CG5 as Dolores, and seeing Leeandlie come in a Camillo? It's Darling! It's Joyous!
But Somehow, Jonathan being Abuela? I am feeling pure glee, especially after seeing Jon's Creepy takes on Encanto songs! X'D
That makes both of us.
There's a part in the song where Delores sings "I can hear him now" which gets kind of jumbled and lost with everyone else singing over her more quiet voice but is a nice subtle reference again indicating that she could hear Bruno in the walls through out the entire movie. It also sounds like she could be speaking metaphorically rather than literally so even if you catch it you might not realize on a first viewing that she meant that literally.
Okay, this just made me think of something. She could hear him in the walls the whole time. Did she know it was him? Or did she think she was hearing things and that would be why she never mentioned hearing him?
@@GtheCatLady What do you mean she never mentioned hearing him? She clearly mentioned hearing him multiple times in the movie it just wasn't made very clear on first viewing... till you see that ending where she says "I knew he was there the whole time" and then re-watch the movie with that in mind. There are multiple instanced where when you know the ending it's clear she's talking about Bruno without explicitly saying his name.
She definitely could hear Bruno, but I'm pretty sure that's not what the "I can hear him now" is referring to. It comes immediately after "he told me that the man of my dreams would be just out of reach, betrothed to another." We later find out that Mariano is that man, and he was on his way to the house at the time. The longing sound there definitely indicates she's talking about "the man of her dreams" from the previous line.
@@brenine3104 It's possible it could have a double meaning both referring to the man of her dreams she referenced in the previous line and Bruno who the song is actually about. Also... I thought it was pretty obvious immediately who the man of her dreams betrothed to another was since it had already been set up that a man was engaged to Isabelle earlier in the movie. I just seriously doubt they would drop that line and not have it be him.
Anyway she says the "I can hear him now" line twice which could very easily fit in with my double meaning theory where the first time she says "I can hear him now" immediately after singing about her love life she's talking about Isabelle's fiance' as you suggested but when she repeats the phrase again she's talking about Bruno who the entire song is about. Two different instances of "I can hear him now" each talking about two different "hims".

I love the fact that the male singers are singing the female lyrics and its switched for anna, gives it a nice twist
I like how Encanto has a majority female cast. Usually it’s woman/girls who are forced to cosplay as male characters, but with Encanto it’s the other way around

@@orbunn5595 It's jarring when a song that is easily memorable has the lines sung by opposing genders.
@@orbunn5595 I wrote a comment above that says the same. Some of them are struggling to hit the notes as intended, and pitching notes lower or higher than intended has the effect of it "sounding off" for lack of musical lexicon. Throws off the ending in particular sadly.
It's tricky because the song is a collab musical but quite a bit of planning went into the original to have it blend one part into another and all.
Having said that, if you enjoy it, is cool. I'm not going to dictate what's enjoyable, I'm of the opinion that it's not a great cover. That's all.
That art for Amalee in Camillo's outfit is WAAAY too good.
