- The War of Art Summary and Review --- In this video, I give you my summary and review of The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. This is one of the best books for artists and it completely changed the way I look at my own writing and other creative pursuits.
Though I have come to disagree with some of the points Pressfield makes in "Turning Pro," I still feel like this book will change how you look at yourself as an artist and help you to defeat all of your fears and Resistances such as procrastination, laziness, self-doubt and imposter syndrome.

Great review thank you
Such great books! My other recommendations for anyone here is Art & Fear, and The View from the Studio Door are amazing books. They have jump started me into setting my life path and habits to build into my ideal creative life.
Also Essentialism by Greg McKeown

One of my favorites!
insane bro , you are an inspiration to all of us to pursue our passion
Thanks for sharing this review. My cousin talked me about it but I hadn't checked it out. Now I realize that resistance had been a constant enemy in my life.
Highly recommend you do!
2 books to review. Trust by Iyanla Vanzant. The Artist Way by Julia Cameron
Interesting! thank you for the review, I wasnt aware there were 3 books! I remember reading the first one and it felt a bit negative for me. I had had re recommendations to read it though.
Interestingly this one isnt an Art/creative book per se but it was a book that made me accept it is ok to be at home and draw and not spend time with people (society makes us feel like an outcast if not sociable. That book was "Quiet" - by Susan Cain. Really opened my eyes on accepting that I am more introverted and liked painting in my spare time
Most amazon review says it's trash
It seems to be a heavily pushed book, for some reason, which makes me question what it's REALLY all about (some kind of covert programming, perhaps?) Steven Pressfield also wrote "Gates of Fire" (among some other interesting titles...) seemingly required reading in US military schools and in the military, in general. Art of War seems a bit woo-woo and new-agey to me.
Nobody likes being called an amateur. I think you're kind of missing the point.
maybe not but it's kinda undeniable
