How you managed to sound like Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Gojira, and Mastodon all at once, and like none of them, all at the same time, is mindbending. Well done, good sir, well done.
My goodness. The savagery from this amp!! Then it it hits you with a very nice clean....AND...really nice crunch. Very versatile amp. Great studio solution. And those riffs!!!!
The Amp sounds incredibly good. The Viewers who recommended that you demo this Amp sure knew what they were talking about. 👍 As always, great demo/video, and I enjoyed the tour of what the knobs can do at the end. 😎
Absolutely insane! Thank you so much for bringing the best amp overviews on RUclips. I’ve gone so back and forth on this amp and love what im hearing because there hasn’t been a quality mixed review out there that hits the SDS standard I’m so close between JCM 800, Dual Rec, VH2, and EVH stealth and now I have to add this one! Great job as always
I'm only a few mins in and the tone of this thing has my jaw on the floor. I can definitely hear the similarities with a Rectifier alright, just way tighter. I just wish they made this in a 3 or 4 channel version.
Great demo, this amp is beyond amazing 🤩 Would you consider doing a capture for the ToneX? 😌🤞 Big fan of your channel, in fact... I have you to thank for my small tribe of LTD phoenix's (3) including the Black metal used in this video. Keep up the amazing content 🤜🤛
John! I've just noticed that your pinky on your left hand has 'swan neck deformity'. I have this with my ring finger, but only when I fully straighten it out, it doesn't normally happen while playing. This amp is seriously sick, I want one a lot. As always, sick tones, thorough reviews and fantastic writing too. Keeps me coming back for more!
I have an idea for a video - run multi effects' amp sims through the fx return of an amp and mic up a real cabinet. I run an AMT pedal through the fx return on amps at our live shows and have always wondered how things like the Helix and cheaper Chinese brands would sound using the same method.
Massive. That is the word that comes to mind when I hear this amp. I am really intrigued about the 6L6 + KT88 set up, seems to add a certain something that isnt offered from 6L6 alone. It feels like it has that usual 6L6 powertube sound, but with just a touch of something extra and it sounds real nice. I have always thought that 6L6 in high gain setups sounds somewhat sterile (maby that isnt the right word), perhaps dry sounds to my ears, and this amps seems to fix that for me. Modern metal sound, with a hint of sweetening.
I want one of these. I got approved for the pedal version for credit on Reverb but I do not want to pull the trigger on that I would like to save for the amp and cab setup.
I have this in plug in format in the STL tones Lasse Lammert....I was never a fan but after seeing this video I need to go back and take another look, try to find something because this sounded great and nasty.
Does the power section distribute the use of the tubes based on channel selection or are you able to bias the tubes, or how does that work? I was just talking to a friend the other day before I bought my Fireball, and I came to the conclusion that as much as I loved my old Uberschall with a KT88 mod, it was just too much for certain tones which lacked versatility. I'm not an EL34 guy, and I know they have a pure 6L6 version, but if you're getting an Uber (which is comparable to this amp in many ways) then you need KT88s to get that STOOOPID HIGH OUTPUT tight low-end chunky rhythm tone. But having a 6L6/KT88 combination is comparable to having one super hot latina wife and another super hot Thai wife who get along with each other, leave me alone unless I speak to them lol.
It is. I have the 100watt version and a 45 watt version, and its essentially the exact same amo, minus the wattage, but 35 from it is huge. If your interested, I have them for sale, let me know and I'll show u specs n pics n links. Good luck
@Sonic Drive Studio , don't I know it. This past year, I have bought an MT15, a 50 watt Stealth and a Super Crush 100. I need to stop looking at amp videos.
@Sonic Drive Studio , there's just so many really good high gain amps out there to try. That's why channels like yours are such a great tool to guitarists like me that don't have access to many of them. I've been playing for 35 years. I've never even seen a Driftwood in person. It's crazy.
Can I have your opinions on built-in effects on guitar amps, like on this amp and the invective? It looks convenient in a way, but in the other I would prefer to use my favorite booster/OD to have better control rather than using any effects built into the amp, but then I never owned any amp like that, so I would like to get your opinion on that;
Gibsons are iconic too, far better guitars out there, Iconic means nothing, every model rectifier sounds different, and they need help to sound any good....
What do you guys think?? Pretty insane and unique amp right?
Wow!
meh ... not impressed tbh better option out there
@@YsAbTonesits pretty unique perfect sounding amp for me
Sounded killer! 🔥🔥🔥🔥Nice job! Handled those low tunings like a complete champ.
You should make a NAM profile and video of some of these amps.
How you managed to sound like Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Gojira, and Mastodon all at once, and like none of them, all at the same time, is mindbending. Well done, good sir, well done.
Thanks so much!
Hahaha agreed!! great job man. Your riffs are inspiring af

Thanks man! It's really an amazing amp for sure!
Absolute bucket list amp, such a clean and refined sound 🔥
I think this amp is probably one of the best High Gain amps on the market for Metal. Sounds absolutely killer. 🤘💀🤘
Hell yeah!
The Amp sounds incredibly good. The Viewers who recommended that you demo this Amp sure knew what they were talking about. 👍 As always, great demo/video, and I enjoyed the tour of what the knobs can do at the end. 😎
21:59 brings out my stank face. disgustingly awesome bro
It's got like a mix of the warmness of a randall thrasher and the high frequency grit of a dual rect. Awesome
Best demo of one of the best amps I've seen so far!
One of the top 3 amps that I’ver heard on your channel! 🤘🏽 Great job as always!

Dude that intro trem picking riff was insane! Had my death metal ass hyped! Killer vid man
Glad you like it!
I need this amp in my collection, 2 channels, sounds awesome, not complicated & all in one!
I'm only a few mins in and the tone of this thing has my jaw on the floor. I can definitely hear the similarities with a Rectifier alright, just way tighter. I just wish they made this in a 3 or 4 channel version.
Great video. Great demo. That’s my favorite clean tone riff you’ve done by far. ❤
I think this is your best sound what i have heard. At least in my opinion :)
Awesome, cheers!
I love this amp's voicing. No idea how it feels to play but it sounds killer. Sounds like it would sit really well next to a Fryette amp in a mix.
By far the best amp I ever tried. It does everything and all of it better.
Great demo, this amp is beyond amazing 🤩
Would you consider doing a capture for the ToneX? 😌🤞

Holy moly!!!! That's a very huge sound!!! That riff was pretty good to test it out. Thanks for your work, amazing youtube channel
Thanks!
The black machined knob option on their website looks so damn clean.
That Riff at @26:12 is fantastic.
Very well done as always. Love the tones here, it’s so nasty but clean at the same time…. but those riffs masterfully played just kill!
Thanks a lot!
Truly lives up to the “Nightmare” name 😍
Great demo

That clean jam is dope af man
Nice versatile amp great clean and I love the crunch!!!
Don't care about gear, here for the riffs! 🤘💪
Just got 44 seconds into this video and had to comment on how brutal this amp sounds…. Now on to the rest of the video
Thanks! Enjoy the rest :)
For the Mighty Alogorithm 🤘
Excellent demo :)
Much appreciated!
Yasss, new riffs!
What a beast! Sounds gnarly and delicious!
Yeah!
Your riffs is so good. Make a solo album ❤❤❤❤
Thanks! :)
Nice!! Sounds great dude 🤘🤘
Thanks!
Driftwood amps are the shit man!!!!!!!! Badass all the way. Got a Mini Nightmare and that thing slays!

the 9-string with the NEIN Oh NEIN pickup :D
love this amp!

5150s use 6L6s and are some of the least dry sounding high gain amps you can get.
SICK! Now to search for captures for my QC :)
IMO sounds much better than the Red Seven and offers way more.
Hey man! I love your channel!
Super tight tones. When are you demoing a Mark Vii? Have you had a chance to play one? Any thoughts? Thanks!
Don't have one and no plans... would be great but I don't see it happening anytime soon
Ooooooooooooooooof!
Sounds sick!

I haven't tried that plugin so I can't comment on that but the real amp sounds amazing!
@@SonicDriveStudio playing it now. I understand that T/s section now. Sounds great. Thanks.
Listen John, I'm going to need you to stop. You make this gear sound too damn good and now I need a 9 string and a damn amp for some reason 😂
Crikey that thing effing slaps 😳
It does!
Finally!!!
is fantastic! can you compare with victory kraken?
Any chance of a ToneX capture 😭? It sounds so good but I dont have $3000
I love it

Channel 2 sounds better with the gain dialed back; it's just a lot tighter that way.

I really like these features and I don't see why they couldn't be beneficial. However, of course you can always turn them off and use something else
Probs best metal amp on the planet for metal tbh
Sounds great man. You can send it to me when your done with it and I'll do a video then send it back to ya.
lol😆
Rectifiers sounds the way they do and they are more iconic than this boutique amp will ever be. That being said, it sounds pretty good.
Gibsons are iconic too, far better guitars out there, Iconic means nothing, every model rectifier sounds different, and they need help to sound any good....
Can you compare with RED SEVEN AMP LEVIATHAN ? There are big difference ?
I'll compare them eventually
Damn..🤟...it's almost too brutal..if that's possible
How does this amp compare with your Rockerverb?
Very different
Love this amp but don’t have the budget to get one
It sounds like a bad dream 💭
This all sounds realy dark. Killer guitar man and amp is for black stuff!!!
Ахуенный звук 👍
Don't know what that means but YEAH! :)
