This amp could use more treble, IMO. It always sounds a little dark/muffled. Their 50w Mini Nightmare is a little brighter sounding.
The amp sounds good with a OD pewdal
I have the pre amp pedal and its sounds great in standard tuning up to c# with the in built boost for me, nice and thick with a good sizzle on top. Ive’ had real trouble dialing it in for b tuning though, i have a mudkiller but it still feels weird and not a sound i like, I’m definitely going to try engaging the on board boost and sticking another in front like you did. If you have the odd box by warm audio, try pairing that with the built-in boost.
That pedal should be on everybody's pedal board
I ended up finding that the Boss SD1 v10 t5 G0 in front with the inbuilt ts boost also on V5 T5 G0 is awesome and just what i needed for lower tunings. Thanks again for the tip of stacking boosts!
I wonder what kind of rectifier it is using?
I like the Mud Killer's tone a lot, but I wish it was capable of more output.. Like twice as much... Because when you start cutting low end, the perceived output diminishes quite a lot... And I have to cut more low end for my purposes anyway..
Same here, I really like that pedal but it doesn't work on every amp. Ever since I've discovered the odd box by warm audio, I can't play through anything else
@@TONEWARSgearshow it's jaut a bummer that the ODD Box is a clone of the OCD, and that guy was run out of business and all of his employees lost their jobs. It isn't like WARM is cloning something long out of production... It's something recent. It's a form of hubris unless they're paying someone royalties. I'm not in the know though.
I wonder which version they cloned... Probably the 1.7 I'd imagine.. Or 2.... (or 2.01 or whatever.. The numbers are weird.

Thank you. Now that you mention it, the Driftwood does have a similar feel and gain structure to the Carvin. The Driftwood definitely has a more modern voicing and more gain.
Isn't the Legacy based on Marshall but the Nightmare based on Mesa? 🤔
@@XChristianNoirX correct. But there's definitely some similar things between the Driftwood and the Legacy regarding feel and gain structure
So for super tight tones on mine I actually use built in T/S I almost think of it as an added preamp control like rumble and sharp. but I then also use my highwind direwolf blended in aswell and GODDAMN the tones are sooooooo good I don’t ever see anyone else stacking the OD like this in test videos but it crushes the volume on the built in word real well as a boost aswell as a negative boost if makes sense? Lol but I keep built in at about 3oclock volume gain at about 9-9:30 and tone at 1:30 the direwolf more classic full volume gain at zero and tone 1ish but blend at 11-11:30 and then of course all the bright/bass switches on direwolf to taste but usually do bass switch at tightest and the bright in middle
