Way to stay with it! I know that was a long grind to get that done- especially with all of the extra gun upgrades you went back to get during the breaks. Thanks for showing us a great game- at least for 1988.
after 20 plus years i randomly got this song opening song stuck in my head HARD. i had to look it up. exactly as i remembered it. and it was in the same key playing in my head.
Loved when you took the time to go get the maxed out gun on the overhead levels. Its hard to keep but its the best way to go through those parts. Holding down the grenade button allows you to strafe keeping your gun pointed in the same direction regardless of walking direction. With maxed out gun- that's the way to go. Especially on bosses.
Freaking awesome! I'm glad you played this, its one of my favorites as a child. I was never able to find area 4 when I was young though, so this was the first time I actually saw those levels. And yes, those things do look like Dots. One of my favorite candies.
i bought the novel for this game at my elementary school book fair back in like '88-'90. cool story for only a few hundred pages. i don't think it has as much adventure as the game but helps to explain a few things going on. thanks for the play through.
O yeah, DOTS. They still sell those. Yeah, they aren't sweet, they aren't sour, they're just kind of... meh. They're like the Disappointment Chips (from Five Nights) of candies.
Now as much as i like this game, the thing I disagree on is getting out of the tank to fight giant insectoid and amphibious enemies...why not stay in the tank?
the game didnt cheat you just didnt know what to do to kill the boss properly with the right weapon for the extendo boss part but ay im not gunna lie if you aint gunna do it properly and is just gunna use the starting weapon then fuck it save states it is 😈 thats like expert mode lol
Small thing, but you say you have turbo off but are clearly using turbo. Also it's weird to say this is a "favorite game" when you don't know it and also clearly don't even know how to play it, you don't even use strafe. WTF.
Don't fault me for what I did in my twenties! I did it right in the last year; learned it good, uncovered the secrets - ruclips.net/video/ramXLL44m3g/видео.html
Dude, I watch to see you play the game, not pick and choose what portions of the game to show. So what if you have to backtrack..its mandatory, therefore part of the game. I really enjoyed hearing your commentary, on top of one of my favorite games. But whatever, I stopped watching when you started skipping around. Peace
All good; yeah if it's just backtracking through a place I've already been and it's a bit of a long haul then sometimes I pause it but criticism noted.
the final boss must have been related to you or a clone or something because he had the same detrimental reliance on his right hand. Permanent handedness? Zoolander disease?
Its suppose to be your frog. The book called it the Master Boss. But it never looked much like a frog to me. There is a story about your frog taking over this radioactive world & that's the whole reason for going after him down the hole. But none of that is really in the game. Apparently there is a Japanese version with some of that in it- plus a sequel - it never came to America but looked cool.
Dude your commentating is very entertaining and well delivered. Im being serious. Great job!
I remember coming across your playthrough a few years ago and specifically looked for your video again. Live the content
Yep, old school here, thank you!
Never beat this game when I was little but loved it. 30 years later I decided to beat it today. Thanks for the let's play it really helped out!

Yep gotta have all the upgrades in the top down, that gun is too ridiculous to go without it. Thanks for watching, Rockstago, much appreciated.

Haha it's crazy how well specific aspects of this game take root in our heads like that, I have the same thing with so many of these games.
@@LetsPlayWithBrigands for sure the 8 bit melodies lol. the original metroid. or megaman 3 were really memorable for me.
I had this game as a kid. It was so challenging!
Definitely, knowing where to go was hard enough sometimes but that was kind of cool that it wasn't super linear.
I know that I just found this video one year after but I send my condolences.
Thanks Colleen, very appreciated.

I remember playing this game for hours
It's one of the best on the NES for sure, actually I put it at #8 on my top 10 best NES games.

+Reid So good (dots and Blaster Master). Yeah I used to peter out around area 4 or 5 as a kid, as well.

That good because the game explains pretty much nothing, not that we complained as kids.
@@LetsPlayWithBrigands Here's a tank, have an adventure, the end.
"i had a pet frog and it can only take so many grenades" BRO I FUCKING LOVE YOU
Must've been a wild ride, our damn hair turned blue!!
"remember where we parked" DUDE I WAS FUCKING SCREAMING tysm

Heh well said, not sweet, not sour, just kind of meh.
Good stuff man......RIP Kat.

oh yeah I subbed. Great vid mate.

+Test Channel, Please Ignore Like a Shakespearian tragic hero, it was his downfall, as well.
