Into The Mind Gavin Dunne 2014
Amid the cracks in mirrors
The glow is growing dimmer
Ascend from putrid rivers
Stumbling blind...
And when the walls are closing
And when you’re crawling, choking
Tumbling deeper down into the mind
When intuition fails you
I will spit, exhale you
Tumbling deeper down into the mind
The keepers of creation
Discharge my automation
Deprived of all sensation
Stumbling blind...
And when the walls are closing
And when you’re crawling, choking
Tumbling deeper down into the mind
When intuition fails you
I will spit, exhale you
Tumbling deeper down into the mind
I’m over here...
Amid the cracks in mirrors...
And when the walls are closing
And when you’re crawling, choking
Tumbling deeper down into the mind
When intuition fails you
I will spit, exhale you
Tumbling deeper down into the mind
Deeper into the mind
Sleep in the deprivation
Deeper into the mind
Spit and exhale
Amid the cracks in mirrors... - Видеоклипы
This game is criminally underrated.
especially compared to the sequel
Arseniy Yavorśkyi the sequel was so slept on, it’s crazy. It’s disappointing that people aren’t into this series that much, one of the best series I’ve ever played
@Crimson purgatory oh, it blew me away too… with how badly-written it was. it's a fine game if you don't care about the story, and don't mind the dismissive treatment of the original, but otherwise it's a train-wreck.
I loved this game, its the 1st game the really terrified me. The 2nd is Resident Evil 7.
As is Gavin
One particular thing I love about this song is how your voice becomes more "distressed", in a sense, the longer the song goes, as if you were really delving into insanity and having to go through tons of shit.
In my opinion, this song fits perfectly with the game aesthetic: Its not a bone-chiller, it is a "madenner", and what best to throw you "Into the Mind" than Dark Rock?
ROCK ON, GAV!!! Level 5 is looking more suculent by the minute :)
I love this Fame AIM Gott the evil Whitin 1 And 2
wow it's like a solid alternative to "Long way Down" as the song which represent the special vibe we feel with the game Evil Within.
I don't play horror games, I'm here for the magnificent song and divine vocals of Gav...
I don't play most of the games there are songs about on here. I just really like Gav's music.
I just beat this game yesterday, and I'm like "That was a great game."
I then see this and I listen to it. And I'm like "That was a great song."
haha same thing happened to me lol
me:
I just beat this game yesterday, and i told myself: "a great fu**ery in its ending, but a excellent game nonetheless with the beautiful "Long Way down" song in its credits"
Then i see and listen this. and i am like: "wow this would make a nice alternative to "Long way down", he got the talent"
Kinda sad that Gav hated the second game and never made a song of it(
Please do a song for The Evil Within 2
Good idea
CrashGaming it would be awesome
It would be amazing
Silent Hill
2 years later this is still one of my personal favorites.
This is the best song Gav has done in years, love the chord progression and solo
I think you have the best subscriber to replies ration I've seen.
Another great piece, loved the directional audio with the "I'm over here'
Nice that people are noticing that part. It was a fun little thing to put it :)
miracleofsound Gotta have to give you recognition, this song made me subscribe and buy the song, amazing job, and the directional audio really gave it the proper creepy(ish) effect. Once again, amazing job and thanks.
Yeah first time I heard it was on my really nice headphones, and it made me look around thinking someone was talking to me.
WELL DONE MY FRIEND I FACED HELL IM THAT GAME IT'S HARD
MIRA WELL DONE NOW I HAVE TO DO A PLAYTHROW NOW
This is truly excellent, well done MoS, another masterpiece.
Thank you :)
miracleofsound I second that this is excellent! Not only the lyrics but the music is a perfect blend. I always love your guitar :) thank you for sharing another great piece.
miracleofsound Great song man.
How in the world does this not have more likes? This song is phenomenal.
Quite possibly one of the best songs for an insane fictional villain I've ever heard.
I feel like villains are better when they are insanely psychopathic or emotionlessly deranged.
This is easily one of my favourite songs from way back. Still love listening to it.
the solid alternative to "Long way Down" as the song which represent the special feel of Evil Within
they should have used this song for the actual trailer
But they they wouldn't have been able to pretend they're a psychological horror game when they're actually just an action game wearing the skin of one - like dead space!
true haha
Morec0 both dead space and this game had some pretty scary moments. I'd argue Dead Space had a lot more and overall did combat horror better but still
Dead space gave me trust issues
@@mrbootystealer5712 I had trust issues before dead space. Afterwards it gave me a new sense of trust issues. Made me feel like how my profile picture looks.
I've always wondered, Gavin: Do you play every single game that you sing about or it's just a sniff here and there from RUclips that you see and then your mind creates the magic?
I dont think he plays them all, or at least before writing the song since he sometimes create songs about games thar arent released yet (like My Revolution or Destiny)
Belouga Power Yeah, I think you're right. :D
I play all of them. Sometimes it's not until after the song comes out, as with Assassin's Creed (It's easy to write songs about those before they come out due to strong continuity in the lore and Ubi being very helpful with giving me details) but yeah I play them all :)
miracleofsound Песня, что припевом, что своей атмосферой, стоит наравне с великой "Fires Far" с её последним "Breath life into this hollowed", которую я орал месяца два. Великолепно.
---------
The chorus and atmosphere of this song costs on an equal basis with the great "Fires Far" with words in that song "Breathe life into this hoolowed" which i shouted over two month.
Gavin, I Love You! All Russian community loves you. You amazing.
Gopgopka7 Whatever you've said, I agree.
its songs like these that make me wish you would stick with one genre. They're so unique that when go to listen to the band that may have inspired it(like with 'a dogs life')...its just not the same and leaves me to listening to the same song over and over. But at the same time, I do appreciate you challenging yourself and doing all genres, because if you weren't this way, a lot of these masterpieces wouldnt have been created. THANK YOU!!!
God I love this game. The Evil Within is probably one of my absolute favorite games and seeing more music based on it gives me so much serotonin. I'm absolutely not disappointed one bit.
It's flawed and I may be biased but I still love this game diology so flocking much
Wow, the "I'm over here" use of the stereo in my headphones is amazing. Love it when left and right channels are noticeably different in a way that fits the song that well.
This was my first miracle of sound song!
Oh my god how did I miss this one! I never even saw that you made a song for Evil Within and now I'm sad I've been missing this track for two years!
Dude this song...
Honestly one of the best songs I've ever heard. How do you do this lol
Skillz
Thanks!! I do it by investing a lot of time & effort into it ;)
miracleofsound Well whatever you're doing keep it up! :)
Coming back to this song because I couldn't get it out of my head for the past SEVERAL WEEKS, and also finally played the game. I see this remark of yours is old, but I just want to say that your songs are consistently so unfathomably good that "a lot of time & effort" just doesn't seem like enough. If you won't give yourself credit for a surplus of talent, we your fans will.
same level of talent than with the singer and composer of "Long way down"
Badass track.
***** lol, no problem :)
I love how this song compliments 'Long Way Down". Amazing work!
I created this world. You cannot keep me here(c) Ruben Victoriano.
You know, one day you should think about doing a Silent Hill based song. You nailed this one and I bet you could do SH justice too. I haven't listened to this one since you put it out here on YT but I've been playing Silent Hill 2 all day and when I heard this it hit me.
silent hill 2 is a masterpiece so full yes about a song about it
+Annko R Yes excellent game, but I prefer the 3rd title.
What do you think he'd call them? For some reason I keep thinking for SH 2 calling it asphyxiated memories.
Good as always. A song I will be listening to when I need to focus or just for the need to hear something engaging
Holy shit a new game that I've actually played! I was sort of hoping you would do this one, annnd now it's here, and as usual it's....I'm sick of saying awesome, so I'll just do this.
Even without the music video (which helps) I can still see the visuals of this game through the lyrics. That's a common thing you've managed to be able to pull off, but the guitar here really helped to set the mood. It keeps the music's theme feeling edgy, and you've managed to capture the feeling of apprehension all through this song. The tension I felt when the lyrics "over here" came into play is nearly indescribable. I can't imagine how long this must have taken you to pull together, since I don't make my own music I can't begin to imagine the work you must go through, but it pays off. In case it was missed you've got my full support. I bought a chug a mug of mead mug from you already (and I use it every day...it is so stained with coffee now XD), but I'm about ready to start buying all of your music as soon as I get a computer that will hold it. My chrome book has no disc drive, but once that changes, I'm buying like, every track you have. Cheers, good wishes, never stop making music, and all other fan-phrases I can think of. XD ~Red
Thank you very much. It takes quite a lot of work to put the songs together, usually anything from 50-100 hours. But I love it! [clinks mead mug] Cheers!!!
miracleofsound Possibly Nord mead? XD
Dude, THAT WAS AWSOME! perfect especially for the time of year. Nice job as always.
Great song again, really liked the idea of the I'm Over Here in stereophonic. Regarding that part, here's a tip from a guy who works in a radio station : you should never go full 100% on each side, keep between 10 and 30% on the other side in case someone listens to it with one speaker who only plays 1 side.
I'm aware of how the stereo spread works, lol. You can't produce music without that very basic knowledge. The 'I'm over here' was a once off - I panned those parts extreme L & R especially for people on headphones, to creep them out. It's a technique often used by bands like NIN who know they have a lot of listeners who don't listen on crappy mono/left side only devices. This song isn't really made for radio, it's made for my audience who mainly listen on headphones/speakers ;)
I know, it kinda was stupid of me to think you didn't knew.
miracleofsound
And guess what? It worked! I WAS creeped out. :s
I'm gonna be honest, this song was so good, it literally creeped into my veins my head, stayed there for many, many hours and I couldn't sleep until 5am. Good job Gav. :D
Love how you craft the details, the "I'm over here" was especially nice this time.
I love how much variation there is between all your songs, keep up the good work man
Absolutely love the feeling to this song. You have a fantastic talent with your music. Truly you weave emotion and words in a truly eerie perfection. Hiting band camp right now. Keep up the phenomenal releases. You are honestly one of the best artist releasing work right now
Oh my goddd you're great at making dark/horrifying music
This song is a banger. I love the Evil within 1 & 2. I hope they make a third
Gav, I truly love your songs! This one is so awesome and really speaks to me since I have dealt with bipolar depression for many years, but it has taken a more poignant turn since recently my spouse and I have separated due to his severe psychotic schizophrenia symptoms. The lyrics really feel appropriate for what I imagine he might be going through. But that's just a guess, since his delusions and paranoia have made him hostile and threatening toward me. It's a very heart-wrenching condition to see a loved one suffer. Also, your 'Calamity' song has been an anchor for me during this trying period. Thank you.
It's really getting deeper and deeper into my mind. Well done.
3:38 to the end is the best part
This is the best song I have ever heard in my life. Please don't stop making more songs like this☺
This is probably my favorite song Gavin has ever done. This is A BANGER
Thank you, Gavin, for another amazing song to an already amazing MoS playlist! Cheers, mate!
You never cease to amaze me sir! Great job as always!
Talk about a song to listen to while you play the game in a boss fight... Man... You want some decent quality goosebumps... -Shiver.- You did an outstanding job on this one Gavin. I am so glad that this song was made! Keep up the outstanding job!
Excellent music Gav! Your songs are getting better every single time! Fantastic Job m8!
This is a great piece of work. The moment the refrain starts with "and the walls are closing" it gave me chills.
Despite being absolutely ridiculous in the third act, your song captures and enhances exactly the parts the game has done right.
Darn it all...now I'm even more impatient to get a new rig so I can play this game....
Anyway, another badass addition to my Miracle Of Sound playlist. Thanks Gav for your hard work and dedication! :D
Gavin, you're great at doing what you do and thanks for all the music you've created.
Sincerely,
someone who's got all your albums in his playlist daily at work.
by far your best one yet! this was amazing
Another one of these.... FECKIN' AWESOME SONGS! Great stuff Gav, great stuff!
I might be the only one who thought BOTH the game and song were amazing, the off-kilter melody really gave the song a haunting theme to it, very cool and the "I'm over here" part was just eerie...awesome work as always
This is absolutly one of my Favorite songs now. ive lisened to this over 100 time its EPIC
The instumental in this is spot on! Great work as always :D
I've listened to this song around Halloween every year since it was posted. It gets me really excited for spooky season.
I come back here every time I need an idea to do my artwork. This song always gives me a lot of weird ideas. Many thanks for posting.
This song fits this game so well, IMO. One of my favourite things about the game is how you're constantly travelling down, going deeper and deeper. I don't know what it is, but I just think it's cool. Every level in The Evil Within ends with you going down a ladder or a hole, or falling from some high place. It gives you this overwhelming sensation that you're travelling to the bottom of the earth.
Silent Hill 2 and Dark Souls 1 + 3 also have you journeying deeper and deeper at certain points, and I love it in those games, too. It's especially mentally draining in Silent Hill 2.
I would have to say this is my fav one so far. I JUST LOVE LOVE IT!!
Great song for a great game. The game was pretty frightening and eerie, but when you hear that mirror tune you know you are about to be safe.
except it still feels wrong, I loved that.
Can't wait for The Evil Within 2 only 6 more weeks now, loved the first one (even made it through Akumu hehe ;) and this song/video is amazing, thank you Miracle of Sound!
This was top notch! Well done! I love the directional audio! Great song! Can't wait for the next!
ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!
Steam should pay miracleofsound, most of the videogames I see here I end playing them because the song is too good
This is really well done bravo
This is pretty cool. As a fan of more industrial rock I like hearing your occasional forays into the genre.
This game was one hell of a ride. I enjoyed every turn, hidden secret, and trap set to ensnare you.
I'm glad this game had boss fights.
I just had a thought. I wonder how much worse Resident Evil 7 would have been if Ruvick existed in that universe and had a hand in Umbrella Corp's experiments with the fungus. The results would've likely been even more lethal.
This matches the mood of the game pretty well. I found your channel because Bethesda liked your Fallout 4 video.
This is seriously awesome! I had to go buy a copy right away. Great work, bravo :)
The rhymes is shocking me !
Its amazing !
This is so perfect! Excellent song💜
I never thought that my favorite game would ever get a fan made song for it. I absolutely love this💙
Another great one. Would love to see one for the brilliant Alien Isolation :)
Isolation definitely beats this game, because they actually build up the tension. And it doesn't have a ridiculous amount of blood and gore in it. The Evil Within is....laughable
TheGreyWolf
Ya..so much better than hide and seek with an enemy you can shoo away with a little flamethrower shot. I'd call Isolation laughable for making so many areas completely safe and ruining any tension.
look at the 2 comments below, that is basically the explaination of horror. Either you're scared when your defenseless or scared of being overwelmed with impossible odds of death.
Thats why fear is subjective.
KenKen KillT iT True m9. True.
Its why this game is met with mixed feelings just like Alien, just like any horror game. I love this game, i like Alien Isolation is meh. Then there are those who feel the exact opposite. 2 different sides of horror.
I don't think I can thank you enough for this. Wonderful, simply wonderful!
Amazing. You always make songs for my favourite games.
Can't wait to see what you come up with for the sequel, Gav!
that is amazing how you added the evil within game! that is Badass.
4 years old and still awesome
Love this game, and this song. Excellent work.
Love this song. One of my all time favorite songs actually. Never even played the game =) But considering doing it sometime in the future thanks to this song. You're amazing.
The entire song is terrific, but the chorus really stands out. Immediately bought it!
I love how dark this song is. You couldn't have picked a better time of year to produce this song.
Evil within is one of my favourite games ever the story and characters in it are amazing
Such an amazing song in tribute to Evil within 😊 the lyrics are very creative and fit in with evil within game
Bloody brilliant! I need to play this game!
Miracle of sound does it again, good work!
This is so good! it gives me the good kind of chills! Amazing!
You got that right
Great work, encapsulates the game rather well I must say!
this is an awesome song! thanks for all that excelent music!
Wow, I thought this was official at first. Very neat song! Got it stuck in my head for 3 days now...
This song and this madness caused in me ecstasy! Excellent work!!!
Holy sh*t, you sir truly are an miracle of sound. Subscribed. (Okay,i did sub a few weeks ago.) Great song!
Awesome. As always
My God...what is this masterpiece?
This is still my favourite! ♡
That fucking chorus. Dude. Dude. Dude seriously you nailed the fuck outta that chorus. It's not boring or repetitive, it's just really fun. God this was a great song.
This is friggin awesome
Brillant as always. Hopefully my game dev dreams come true, and if they do I would almost pin my success upon whether or not I saw a MoS song written or not. Because your music is always just as amazing, if not more so, as the games it is about.
I was sticking to songs about games i'd played for awhile since I figured I wouldn't get references, but my god that was a mistake. This is epic
Best song from Miracle of sound.
Wow great song, i love the game and this fits perfectly to The Evil Within
Fantastic song. The lyrics work really well, as always.
I haven't even played or heard much about the game, but song was still awesome.
Wow, fantastic song! I loved it sooo much, great job! :)
Thank you for this song :)
