Great job, just one question, the area lights you put towards the rock to fake the highlights, how did you do so the area lights didn’t get affected by the volume shader? Otherwise you can see a ball of light from the area lights instead of just having the lights affect the rock like in your case
Sorry about that, it seems like I forgot to mention it in the video. Basically, with the light selected, you go to Object Properties -> Visibility -> Ray Visibility and check Volume Scatter off.
Hi, i'm new here. May i ask? So when you put the emitter node and put the texture painting as a fac it was just for the emitter right? Where did you put the rest of stone texture? Since you didn't show the full node. I need to know how to combine 2 texture with a abstract emitter on it. If it not so abstract we can just select the poly and assign the texture but you combine it in one texture material right?
I broke down how I went about making the rock texture from 8:10. I got the textures from texturehaven and connected them to their respective slots in the principled shader. If you have the node wrangler enabled, you can simply press Ctrl Shift T with the principled shader selected and then select all of your textures to automatically place them in. I'm not exactly understanding what you mean on the second part, but based on what I understood- You can combine two textures with the MixRGB node, and two shaders with the MixShader node. For materials where you need emission, you can mix your principled shader with an emission shader using the MixShader node and have a black and white texture to control the factor. The white areas will use the second slot and the black areas will use the first slot. About your last sentence- Yes, you can have an extra material slot where you only have an emission shader, and select the faces you want to assign to it. This works well when your topology is relatively predictable. But when it is as detailed as mine, it's better to just use vertex groups or paint a texture to control the factor inside the same material.
@@RenderRides oh, so that was automatic. and it only connected with the principal bsdf? so If we want to make something detail with some part light up, but it has too many poly/tris, we just have to paint the emitter spot with white painting and be done with it? I thought you skip those parts where you connecting all the dots on the node. well, I certainly learn something new. I did join the discord server but I think I'll ask here. anyway thanks!
Didn't it lagged, are you using laptop, what are the specs of it's just so cool and if it didn't lag please suggest me for not lagging even my pc is new with gtx 1050 ti making a simple scene has been taught for me any suggestion please
It lagged quite a bit. I sped up the recording and cut the parts where it lagged or crashed. However, with your GPU, it should work much better than mine (I have a 940MX).
@@RenderRides yeah mine's little bit better but I was asking that if we could reduce lag by doing some settings, and got to know about baking can we do such to reduce please refer me if we could do something to reduce any lag, like anything you know about to reduce lag please
I just used one of the default brushes (like clay brush) to subdivide my mesh, and then used the brush pack to actually deform the mesh and add the details.
Very cool artwork Agniv. I'm stunned after looking at the quality of videos you're producing and hope you progress more. Well, I was also wondering about what are your Computer Specs(Is it a 1or 2 Lacs Laptop?🤔) cause the rendering speed in your videos is very fast even in Cycles !!
Thank you so much! I hope I can continue exceeding your expectations haha! My laptop is quite low end considering the amount of work I do on it. It's a laptop worth 40k rupees. The rendering seems fast because I sped up the footage by 20 to 50 times.
Thanks! You can pass the image through a colorramp to get a black and white image, and then try to isolate the fire by sliding the handles on the colorramp. You can then connect the output from the colorramp to the alpha input of the principled shader. The white parts will be opaque and the black parts will be transparent.
Thank you! I used a renderfarm for this, so it rendered in a flash. My config is i5 7200U and GTX 940MX. It's quite an outdated midrange setup, but hopefully, I'll be upgrading to a much better one soon.

I don't think that value indicates the amount of RAM used though. It denotes the amount of storage it's using on the harddrive to store all the data. Not too sure, might be wrong.
