    ~The Rescue of 3 horses roaming the streets in the cold. The Little one is Shaggy, then you have Patches and Angel (the leader of the group) she got her name because she has the markings of what looks like a Halo under her forelock. These horses have a strong will to live!!!! The 3 horses were tied up around their necks (TIGHTLY) with phone wiring and underground heavy duty coated electrical wire (romex). You will be able to see in the video and pictures where it was busted off from them escaping the abuse they had been subjected to along with the neglect of not being fed. They had been wandering the streets through the recent snow storms we have had. Luckily we received a tip that they were still alive. Illinois Horse Rescue set out driving up and down the streets where they were last seen. We found them!!!! Suffering from injuries, searching for food, thirsting for water at a time when everything is frozen. We found them (thank God), rescued them and brought them to safety.
    Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County needs your help. If you support our heartfelt passion for getting these horses and other animals to safety, you can show your support by making a donation, set up a monthly contribution, share this information on twitter, Facebook, etc. Concerned citizens (which are many) have informed us that animals are being shot such as cattle, horses and dogs. They are being starved and left for dead! There are NUMEROUS cases that we are responding to not to mention our normal case load. This is yet another crisis added to our plate and we are functioning with limited funds and resources, but we assure you ILLINOIS HORSE RESCUE OF WILL COUNTY WILL CONTINUE to respond and rescue these animals. We need to spread awareness to as many people as possible who have no idea this is going on. We are a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization. We do not receive any state or government funding AT ALL. Our organization is run SOLELY on the kind and generous donations from people who care about the animals we save.
    ~UPDATE!~
    Angel was 150 pounds underweight and after a further exam we found a nail imbedded in her hoof. She took the longest to recover and got adopted in June 2013.
    Patches was around 75 pounds underweight. He was the first to get adopted the end of March 2013.
    Shaggy was 50 pounds underweight and had bad cuts on his nose and legs. He recovered quickly once he was being taken care of and got adopted with his 2 goat friends in April 2013.
    Thank you everyone for your concerns for them. We have rescued over 800 animals since we opened in 2011 and we are still going strong! Please think about donating today to help us continue saving many more! www.illinoishorserescue.org

    The 3 rescued horses are doing much better. We removed a 3inch nail out of one of their hooves and the little one (Shaggy) does not have tendon damage to his hind leg and will recover just fine. You can always find out more about us on our facebook page or website.

    I have no idea how this incredible rescue video could have even
    1 thumbs down, much less 160! God help a world that is devoid
    of compassion for innocent animals. His Light of love shines so
    brightly in and through all of those that give of their resources and
    time to help all of the precious animals in desperate need of loving
    care and attention. If the world was full of people like these, this
    would be a perfect world. Blessings to the critters and all of those
    that partner with you in your much needed ministry of love...

    The way these horses loaded so quickly, and were so easy to catch speaks to good training in their backgrounds. How they ended up in their present predicament with whatever ignorant jerks had them is beyond me. Possibly the previous owner died and the horses were sold, or their original owners thought they were going to a loving home. Instead, they went to hell. It's so sad to see. I've rescued and assisted with rescues in the past myself. It never ceases to amaze me how horrible human beings can be. I'm so glad these horses were found by knowledeable, decent horse lovers.

    Congratulations for helping these horses. One could feel that these horses turned to people for assistance but were nor sure that the people would accept them, they showed a little hesitation but the expertise of the people involved helped them bridge the gap of insecurity. I liked how the little one waited so patiently, he knew his turn will come, and when it did, he followed like a sheep for he felt security in that trailer and what followed.
    Well done.

    Abuse of any animal in any way is unforgivable. I pray they were not given back to the owner and he/she was charged jail time and a huge fine. I can not believe how they were kept tied, with electrical wire and phone wire. When it comes to animal abuse these monsters are not punished enough to make them think twice. Thank you for saving them.💖

    • @winifredthompson2488

      Spirithart People,abandon horses for many reasons. NO 1. is they end up having no money to keep the horse, loose their job, their business, recession sets in, no one to buy the horses or ponies, so they are dropped off in some mountainous area to cope on their own. I have seen this in Ireland during the worse time of the recession, horses ended up,in other people's fields miles away from where they originally came from. The rescue groups inudated with horses and are full up. Then even the abitors are not taking them, it is a horrible situation. YOU are not allowed legally to put a horse down and burry it on your land, This is outlawed by the E.U. These horses when dead have to be taken away by the authorities and that costs up to 200 Euros. Now if you have no money what are you going to do. The next option is to take the horse away and release it somewhere where no one knows it. The police don't want to know it, no body wants to know, and turns a blind eye, This is a awful situation. but many people have found themselves in this situation. It takes around 80 to 100 euros a week to keep a horse. so please don't buy a horse or pony for the children unless you can really afford it. Please heed this advice. GREETINGS FROM NORTHERN IRELAND.

    • @winifredthompson2488
      @winifredthompson2488 6 лет назад +1

      The Gooch The majority of people that buy horses for themselves love those animals, it is when times become desperate, no money, either buy food for the children or feed the horses. THIS is the problem. I know cruelty exists, but it is usually rare, just as child abuse is rare, unfortunately many of these abuses are comming to the fore now, abuse of animals, children and the elderly , it makes no difference it is still abuse. When I was young and that was 70 years ago, people saved hard for the things they wanted, borrowing money, and H.P. was an non non. This was how I was brought it. Today the whole culture is borrow borrow borrow, then people find themselves out of their debt, they can't pay back, fustration and cruelty set in, we get animals abandoned, wives abandoned with children, daddy in debt to his eyebrows. This and recession is the biggest cause of the abandonment of horses, in mountainous areas left to fend for themselves. Greetings from Northern Ireland.

      Winifred Thompson you are kidding right? They were tied out with Electrical Cable! We aren’t talking lightweight wire here, Romex is made in the town where I grew up, just a 20 miles or so from where I now live. Depending upon what gauge wire, how many wires, and whether there are two or three layers of insulation some Romex is thicker than your thumb. Let’s put the wire aside for a moment and focus on the fact that TWO of those horses had halters that had recently literally grown into their poor faces. That poor pony’s face will never be normal again! Lastly two out of the three are so lame they are basically three legged. I have owned horses most of my life, and I can assure that there have been some very tight times, however, before I could EVER lead any pet of mine into the wilderness and abandon them, believing that they could just fend for themselves... If I could not re-home them, If Law forbade me from burying my animal on my own property (which is ridiculous by the way) then I would at least haul them somewhere and have the human decency to use my rifle to put them down so they would not have to suffer by slowly starving to death or dying of thirst.

    • @margosepulveda5408
      @margosepulveda5408 5 лет назад +3

      +Winifred Thompson .......I wish I could believe that abuse of every sort were rare. But.....it is RAMPANT.....with animals, kids, people, etc. I alone could write a book.....on the abuse, assaults, crimes, etc against just myself. With that aside.....the abuse of kids is bad / horrific. But, even they grow up & fend for themselves. Animals, dogs, cats on the other hand will mostly depend on us when they are hurt, starving, freezing, etc. I have seen so many horrific abuse of animals....I have NO words for the many unspeakable crimes against these defenseless beauties! One of the worst being a shephards who's tail cut off, throat slit, broken nose.....worst of all!!?? She was not only assaulted by a man ......yes sexually.....he used a knife on her privates!!! There are many horrific sick crimes against animals that people are not being charged with or caught!! People should be terrified that these people are walking the streets.....I know I am!! Sorry for being so blunt.....but I think people need to know. Thanks & Peace!

    Thank you so, so much! Deliberate cruelty should and must be held accountable for these horrific neglect cases.

    Thank God there still are people who take action instead of hoping someone else will take care of these poor horses.
    Who would tie phone wire around their necks.
    Please keep us updated to how things go. The leader horse's front leg is completely blown up

    These lucky ponies knew they were in caring hands, they have unspeakable intuition..I know from personal experience, when I used to stop in a leyby every day, for a 10min break and always saw a horse in the field next to me. He always looked up at me, but never approached me until one day, I was feeling really low and upset and he walked over to me and rested his head on my shoulder ..it blew me away. So happy these ponies are being respected now. Well done guys.
