Driven by his love for horses, Kameron Kelsey makes a living at the 9 Quarter Circle Ranch spending time with these magnificent animals. What are your thoughts on Kameron's way of life?
I feel privileged to have met Kameron Kelsey when he came to our ranch and purchased one of our colts for their ranch. He is truly a testament to the old style ranch life.
I'd cherish everyday to have this lifestyle, I've always dreamt about owning my own horse ranch one day but it's hard to get into one if you weren't born into it.
And when you born into it, you'll hate that life.. trust me, all my friends who come from villages always like that, they have a big house, have horses but they chose go to the city, live in an small apartment and buy a car. Dreams are not born into it but you must be reached it.
Although I like this video very much the title of this video is misleading. These are not wild horses they are Appaloosas that are bred, raised, trained and used for the dudes at the 9 Quarter Circle dude ranch. That is what makes this ranch so intriguing to me is the reliance on the Appaloosa horse and I applaud the ranch for this as the Appaloosa breed has been neglected for quite some time. It is great to see so many of these particular horses in one place. Thank you for the video but consider a name change.
...i had an Appaloosa growing up, & so did my next door neighbor. Two fine horses. Smart. Rode mine up the backside of El Capitan, in Yosemite, four feet from the edge we stood.
If more people from the big cities and surrounding suburbs understood how tough life on the ranch/farm is... I'd like to think they would show more respect.
🤔🤔🤔...is it not a choice to live this lifestyle? All the people doing these "live off the land" vlogs...are recording in 4k...with drones...creating productions. That cost money...money that "living" off the land isn't going to provide.
@@mlfonvi get real! So he may have submitted some of his own vlogs but National Geograohic did the majority of the filming, edited in the vlogs ,and worked with the rancher on the narration. "Living off the land" is a 24/7/365 job.

I like this guy a lot, he does not think of himself as a very special person. He is contrary to what many youth's today are or at least think they are... as special snowflake. However he still is proud over what he does and strives to live a great life. Wish more people including me would be more like him.
Elias Öhman I think it would be pretty tough to think of oneself as being anything but rather insignificant when surrounded by all the forces of nature and geology, yk? Perhaps Mr. Ohman, there are more commonalities than you yet recognize between you and Kameron despite the overt differences in the circumstances of your respective lives. Best wishes.
So wonderful that simple, pure life. I owned horses many years and lived in the country. Nothing better than riding the horse in the mountains when the dew is on the grass and it's just almost sunrise...
Lovely story but the title is misleading, these are not "wild" horses, they are a dude string of broke horses that are used every season on guest ranch.
We should all abandon the technological progress and a way of life connected with it and go back to our roots, to live a simple life in a symbiosis with a mother nature!
There are still opportunities to do this if you wish. I’m sure you’re aware living a “simple life in symbiosis with (a) Mother Nature” isn’t quite so simple to actually execute. @@leanneadams2549 but if I only had someone like him to teach me. Everyone here is about the money or doesn't want to start from ground zero. Sad really. But thanks it would be awesome.
Been through Idaho, Wyoming, and part of Montana. Beautiful country, you can not see it without knowing something bigger than human life created such magnificence. Love the American West! Wild horses also exist on the East Coast in North Carolina beaches and Virginia Chincotegue island, a hold over of a past time, and they are beautiful to see wandering the beaches.
It's my dream to one day be a part of the ranch life. It's just so amazing being in the middle of nowhere and having to survive on what you have. One day I'll.get there... one day. For now it's just a small farm 2 miles outside of town.
It's a nice life style. I have a similar life style. I'm lucky. I also have and love horses. I keep them in as close to a natural wild state as possible. Watching them run and play and graze in a natural state is awesome. Seeing how they actually behave in nature is amazing. I keep the stallion and mares and foals together. After about 3 months of being full time mom's those mares get tired, That's where the stallion comes in. He teaches his babies and plays with them and takes them out for the day, giving the mares a break.
Horses need to be free. They've more than earned that right. Love them from afar. Respect and cherish them for Real by doing so. By letting them live their lives their way, in the wild, with their families. ACTUSLLY Live by the symbols you seem to cherish.

Such an "old school" way of thinking, people do not need to put their horses down immediately when they break a leg anymore. Veterinary science has come a long way
Our technology still isnt so far along as to allow us to make a horse thrive on three legs. Besides, was he supposed to just leave an injured horse in the middle of the woods and run back for lord knows how long in order to get a vet that would just tell him to euthanize anyway?
