#DanSeals #RockN2Country
One of the greatest country songs of all time.
Bob McDill... songwriter, poet, genius.
Not just songs, singers, Dan seals made it in rock AND country, he died way too soon and young, my favorite country singer aside from strait
Dan Seals is a very underrated artist. He had a few other hits but none as big as this. His brother was one half of the 70’s soft rock duo Seals & Croft.
Dan Seals was known as England Dan in the mid and late 70s. Him and John Ford Coley had a number 1 hit in 1977 "I'd really love to see you tonight". And when that song went to the top 40 and top 10 it was the first time that 2 brothers in different groups were both in the top 10.
Love this song always but can’t help but notice Waylon was strumming along and singing too.
Dan Seals has always been on if my favorite artists, Meet Me In Montana is great and “Big Wheels In The Moonlight” is one of those great trucking songs
Those are two of his best.
Don't forget Addicted. That's one of my favorites
Concordo
👍
I freaking love his voice. RIP TO THE LEGEND DAN SEALS
My goodness, what a talent. Rest in peace, Mr. Seals.
I've been listening to this song for 30 years and I still cry every time. The country music royalty on this stage is unfathomable. I know I saw a tear in Wayland's eye. 😢
Dan had a very nice pop/rock career (England Dan & John Ford Coley), and followed it up with just as nice of a country career. And he was there with some MAJOR country artist!
Dan was the brother of Jim Seals of the pop/rock duo, Seal & Crofts. Dan passed away in '09 from cancer.
Dan Seals is worth a deep dive . My old yellow car, is a great song .
Some songs are just made for certain artists. This one was made for Dan Seals. I personally feel heartbreak for the dad and his daughter. Only elite songs can do that.
Since I just found your channel last night I was going through some of the songs and found this one by Dan Seals. He passed away too young. I loved your reaction. It wad so heartfelt about struggles and it really touched me. I almost cried when he sang "you never even called". And the other thing that got me because I'm a huge animal lover is when he sang the horse stumbled. 💔 I just almost burst into tears because I know what that's like. Thanks again. it's really hard to find people on the reaction channels who do older Country and that's really all I'm basically interested in and 60s and 70s rock. I guess I'm what you call an old fogey. Keep up the good work
Thanks for finally getting around to this oneo olde red is his horse not his dog. He couldn’t bare to let go of his faithful horse.
You can hear the pain and passion Dan put in to that song it is such gold i love it.
RIP Dan. Your music will live forever.
His song - addicted- is something.
Absolutely love that one!
That's one of my favorites too.
dan seals has always been a fave love this song, bop, meet me in montana, so many more don't blame you for stopping heard it a million times and it still holds up to the test of time. We are one is my absolute favorite lyrics but especially the video. I grew up in a racist family with the exception of my mom it's changing for the better but ever so slowly.
Dan Seals was a fantastic artist and a humble person. With an outstanding voice.
When everyone in the room knows the words, you know that song was huge!
One of the first songs I remember hearing as a little girl
One of my all time favorite songs, just so beautifully sad.
One of the greatest songs of all time. This is country music. Unfortunately, it's dying a slow painful death.
Iam feelinlove with Dan songs, crying for the songs tunes, musicals tunes, and his vocal,my favorite songs ever,i remember my young daysits gone, crying for the past ,but never come back again,gogo..bye,Rip Danseal, meet you in heaven is the most hope.
Wow looking at all those on stage with him. Legends so many no longer with us
You are so right that Dan lifted everyone up with him, as you can see looking at the participants here !❤️
This song is what Heaven must sound like.... I love this song, and Dan Seals has always been one of my favorites.
I was lucky enough to see Dan in concert twice. he was awesome!
I love those shows where they are playing before their peers and legend of Country music. It is a case of who is who. Love it.
Dan Seals may be the most underrated performer, ever. He's quiet. I didnt really discover his music until after he died, but he's so mellow. "I'd really Love To See You Tonight" is one of my favorites. Along the same theme, "Please Come to Boston" by · Dave Loggins is another "somebody's missing out" heart tugger.
One of my favorite songs. You should find a performance when he is young it's so much better
Its fun to see Waylon sing along.
Thank you for this reaction, Dan is overlooked by many people and he had a great voice. I love these videos of all the great country artists just sitting around, telling stories, singing songs, and they like and respect each other, and they don't mind singing backup when someone else is singing, because they respect them and enjoy the song, and that when they get their turn to sing they will have the BEST backup singers in the world, it's like a huge family. I wonder if you'd get the same thing if you got a bunch of pop singers together, or rap, or heavy metal, maybe you would, I don't know. Thanks again.
That's one hell of a circle of friends. You know your song is more than just a money maker when the people you consider friends in the same line of work start singing your song,, guess I never really paid attention that he had passed away already in the early 2000s. I believe I've got this album. I love the songs on this album especially Bop. But again this collection of people right here a lot of money not with us anymore. That's a lot of friends that's someone's missing.
I love all these get togethers on this channel.😀
You don’t usually get to see Waylon & Willie & Glen & Bobby together !😀
Also imagine the fact that a lot of people in that room are heroes of Dan's. Then imagine that the applause you get are from those you 've idolized. Great reaction and commentary on it. Peace.
Tha amount of talent on that stage is insane.
It’s amazing the whole thing didn’t collapse from the weight of it. We just don’t have folks like that these days. At least, not in the mainstream, they’re out there, you just have to dig for them.
I absolutely love Dan Seals. All of his songs. But my favorite is Addicted.
Wonderful song and rating. This reminded me of a song Merle Haggard did called, "Holding Things Together." He is raising his daughter, her mother forgets the child's birthday, and Merle sends a present to her signed love, mamma. More tears.
Yes that's a hard core song right there.
I have watched him doing this, since that song came out. It gets me every time. I wish there were a clear version of his original video on RUclips.
Every time I hear this song- and he sings that line.. I stop- just like you did.. and say “damn”. What a true, great lyric. Fantastic reaction as always.
Addicted is another really good song from Dan Seals
💞 Beautiful!!! I've always loved that song; sad, but such a serious message in there.
Man.....I love these all-star get togethers! Haven't seen Mickey Gilley in forever 💞 and dang, they all looked so young here.
Dan Seals wrote this with Bob McDil in 86. That aside how many of us know someone who left everything behind to pursue fame? Dan is able to reach inside of us and make us reflect. I think we all know someone who has done this or perhaps we see it in ourselves. In any event this song makes you stop what you are doing and immerse yourself in the lyrics and the story. Thanks for this Don!
Great reaction! Love watching you.
Just so you know, Red is a horse not a dog.
Wow just wow. Such a great performance he had them in the palm of his hand. It was touching to see the mutual respect that the other artists had for him. It was touching at the end when he was visibly moved with they're clapping for him. Another interesting fact the 70s pop group English Dan and John Ford Coley. He was England Dan
You could do well to hear him sing this when he was younger he can hit some notes in it.
Dan Seals back in the day was one of the bigger talents. the thing you're reacting to was the biggest names in country at the time got together and sang their songs for each other. Every person in that room was the main big players in country at the time.
For some reason Dan Seals and some others got forgotten after that but there was a lot of talent in that room that somehow just got forgotten but people would still love!!!
RIP to this great singer
Such a timeless message wrapped in the sweet sorrow of his smooth voice.
Lots of talent there. SO good!
Thanks for requesting, the bunch of you! This is one of my favorite songs by him. I was in a fiction writing class in college and every other story the kids wrote was about finding fame in California. As I have lived in California all I could do was silently chuckle, not as easy as they thought. Thanks for posting, Captain. Love and hugs for all~stay safe~stay kind~stay humble!
check out" Meet Me In Montana " with Dan Seals and Marie Osmond !!!!!!!!
@TXplowgirl thank you i missed it. ill go check it out.
Linda música é uma voz do verdadeiro country.
*atravessou fronteiras*
👍❗👍❗👍❗
You Know Dan was part of the Duo England Dan & John Ford Coley " I'D REALLY LOVE TO SEE YOU TONIGHT"
Great song and performance. You can tell this was an older video as it had some of the great stars we have lost in it. I noticed Ferlin Husky, Waylon, and Glen Campbell. In case you didn't know Glen's daughter Ashley Campbell is a very good Tradition country artist.
Wow, so many great country singers in this video! You do a great job, Don, you just keep doing you!
I'm glad you like it! The radio version hooked me. Another "9+" for me is Sammy Kershaw - Matches. Please don't react to the video version because it'll ruin it for you!
Need to listen to Jeff Carson the car. Great song you'll like it.
Such a lovely song which is just a classic and timeless song
So much talent in that room. 🙂
Dan Seals My Ol' Yellow car is on par with this IMO,check it out too sometime. Thanks for the reaction! It's been awhile since I heard Dan Seals
Dan Seals had some great songs and I always enjoyed this one. What a room of stars to perform in. New country take a look, this is how it's done. Great review.
Great review from you too
Amen, brother. Good video.
I'm good friends with Dan Seals younger sister. Notice he's playing a RH guitar, left handed and still strung RH......
Great to see you do this tune! Have always loved this song. Old Yellow Car is about her great Dan Seals song.
My favorite Dan seal song is Bop, and I bop to it often.
ol waylon actin like he knew all the words to this ,but you can tell by his lips that he didnt
This may be his most popular song. It really gets you in the feels. Dan has a dozen or so songs right in there with this one as far as I'm concerned.
P.s. I lol almost spit my coffee all over the political bullshit.....!!!.. I love you man!
Profound!!
Crying this morning! Thank you Don!! 😪😪
Love Dan Seals. Definitely a who's who of country in the video....many, are sadly gone. I'd luv to hear you react to Chris Cagle's "we grow our own"
One of the best songs. Reminds me of my relationship with my mama. She was the most beautiful woman i had ever seen was my mom. But she didn’t want me. She didn’t raise me. And I couldn’t make her want me. So she didn’t glitter after awhile :/
Dan Seals has another terrific song, modeled after teen reminiscences in his "Old Yellow Car." It's kinda off the norm, but in some ways no less poignant than "Everything That Glitters". Consider this for one of your episodes!
Meet me in Montana. Great song by Dan seals
He was sick near death while singing that song. very emotional
Not possible. This was recorded several years before Waylon Jennings, who is sitting in front of Dan, died in 2002. Dan Seals did not die until 2009.
This is the best live video of this song I love it
Another great song by Dan Seals if you get a chance is "YOU STILL MOVE ME"
Terrific one!
The song has aged very well in my opinion
Gold doesn't glitter. It's a dull bright yellow in the bottom of your pan, looking at you from out of the heavy black iron rich sand. Move the pan in circle and the black sand will swirl in the water but the Gold will sit right there not moving because it is so heavy!
I love this
You did a fantastic job on this one!
Great Song. That ones a classi . Hadnt seen ya around much Don...hope alls well!
Hi Don TY for reacting to this, Had the honor of meeting him, gone to soon, you wan't a song to rip your heart out check out Blaine Roy "PAPER AND PEN" the lighten things up with Jack Ingram "LOVE YOU" funny video, The Cadillac Three "THE SOUTH" video, & Dillon Carmichael "SAWIN' LOGS" funny Michael Ray "WHISKEY AND RAIN" TY As Always Honest reactions
He is very good in the country realm as well pop Loved England Dan and John Ford Coley missed out on lot of his country day listened to music less when my son was Young cause it was raising him and extra Listened at the time to what they concerned "oldies at the time " then it was mostly contemporary Christian concentrated on my Christian walk . Then became more balanced now I am catching up on all I missed . Listening to it all lol .
Great song. Great video. It was so wonderful to artists from the past. I saw Joe Stampley in the group. Would you please do a reaction to, “If You Touch Me.” Thanks .
I actually have this Ryman country Homecoming video with all the artists. A lot of them are gone R.I.P. Always a favorite song. You should do some of the other artists too. Janie Frickin, Bobby Bare, Wine Into Water by T. Graham Brown.
New to the channel love it. You need to check out cabolla Diablo by Charlie Daniels.
My boyfriend at the time named our son from this song and it was as if I was singing the song he is the one who vanished.
Do a reaction video of Justin Townes Earl slippin and sliding
One of my favorites
If you noticed, he plays a right hand strung guitar left handed. The strings and upside down for a left hand player. Kind of hard to follow the chords.
R.I.P. Dan Seals.
Great song.
I am getting addicted to this song, any medications?
@Awuni Francis Only one medication-turn the volume up!!
RIP Dan
That's a good rating 👍
Wait until you hear Addicted, his best.
Someone else you'd like Elvie Shane "MY BOY / GIRL
Rest in peace Dan
Jeff Carson the car. Do that one!!!!!!
If the damn song wasn't brutal enough but we have a horse that needs putting down too. Heck
Daddy’s gone crazy. George Straight
