Roger craig smith is my fav chris actor but kevin dorman from vendetta and death island is okay too he just needs some good direction and more time as chris
@@captaincredfield4692 I keep hearing “Falling back!” After his assist and “Link established!” For his level 3. LOL. So iconic. Please Capcom, bring him back!
Its due to Capcom going non-union that made it so Alyson Court couldnt be the voice of Claire in RE2 remake. She actually said in a YT video that she had recorded some lines in the studio for the game but things fell through very early. Such a shame.
0:57 completely slapped me with a steel door, I love the AC games especially Ezio and I didn't even know that the dude that voices Chris voiced Ezio. Chris totally should have said "Resquiat in pace" when he beat wesker haha
He is one of my favourite voice actors. I would love for him to voice Chris again and he voiced the legendary Kyle Crane in Dying Light 1. Kyle Crane is supposedly returning in the Dying Light 2 Story Expansion and it’s up in the air and being speculated if Roger Craig Smith will return as Kyle Crane as well.
@@projectweskerre Yeah whenever you get the chance to play Dying Light 1 for the first time your definitely gonna say this sounds like Chris from RE5 and RE6. The voice of Roger is so iconic. It’s also one of the reasons I got connected to Kyle Crane so easily and noticed he was Chris as well.
If RCS can’t voice Chris again, Kevin Dorman should reprise his role as Chris for RE9 and a RE5make. And if the characters are older for RE9, they can try to work it out to bring Alyson Court, Paul Mercier back since they would be at old age.
Roger also voiced Chris in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite which released in 2017. I believe that's the last time he portrayed Chris. I definitely miss him; would have been awesome to have him in Village.
Yeah the union/non-union thing is an annoying move from capcom, that's what happened with Jolene Andersen who did not reprise her role as Ada because of it. I wish Capcom would stick with 1 actor for a character, I mean Chris literally got 3 different voice actors between RE6, 7 (in which they tried to replicate RGS' voice) and 8.
I say it should be it should code veronica Chris Redfield voice actor Michael Filiowich should play him his voice was awsome as Chris Redfield in that game
If someone can create a Roger Craig Smith AI voice mod for Chris in RE village then I will play it again for a second time. I had a really hard time taking in Carlos’ voice for Chris un Village. However there is currently an RE2 Ada voice mod/improved current Ada voice mod in development for RE4. Definitely looking forward to that.
I actually met him a couple years ago. He signed my copy of Resident Evil 5. I told him that was my entry into the series and I loved it so much I went back and played the original PlayStation 1 games. He smiled and told me it is a really cool universe. One of his favorites.
My personal favorite Chris voice actor is Joe Whyte, but RCS was also a great VA for Chris, and I do hope he comes back eventually. Do you think you would do a video about Jill's VAs as well? I'm biased, I really liked Heidi Anderson (I think) for the remake of 1, and Patricia Ja Lee (I think lol) for 5 and one thing that surprised me about the remake of 3 & Death Island was how young the new VA's voice sounded. In context, it makes sense, Jill was only 23/24 when the mansion incident happened, and I guess they wanted Jill to sound more age appropriate, but I liked the way Jill sounded in the remake of 1. There's just something about the fact that she didn't get overly emotional which I guess goes to show how professional she is. I don't think the new VA quite got it right in re3r, but in Death Island, she sounded better, it just seemed a little inconsistent since now she looked the same but sounded older. Re: the carlos/chris va thing. I actually never played 8, i didn't care for 7 so I already knew I wasn't going to play 8, however, I did play the remake of 3 and I thought Carlos was great. I had heard people saying that the voice actor for Carlos also did Chris, but I didn't realize why it was a big deal until I saw the clip you have at 5:30... I laughed so hard I almost passed out. You're right, the voice is EXTREMELY similar. I don't know what they were thinking--the voice doesn't match his face either. Regarding Nick and his young Leon voice/older Leon voice, I think he did such a great job, that I genuinely didn't even notice there was a subtle difference. Good video as always!
In alot of ways Smith felt like i was hearing Chris' soul within, like he really personified a man who survived something that he could've swore he wasn't supposed to survive but live to tell the tale and since then dedicated his life in ridding the world of what ever is left of Umbrella, which when it came to Wesker, Smith portrayed Chris like all these years has led to this moment and it shows his distaste for Wesker, given how he not only led to the death of the majority of the original stars members but that he was a member of an organization that disregarded human life and Chris is portrayed beautifully by Smith who to me is the voice of Chris
If he doesn't do the voice of Chris, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to just replace the original resident evil 5 and 6. Same case for Troy baker as jake muller. I'm always most grateful for the different gameplay styles in the remake series, especially in Resident Evil 4 since even the melee combat is amazing, and I hope they do the same in Resident Evil 0 and 1 since for me they're the most difficult games in the franchise, but changing the voices is a different story.
I have a theory on why Matt Mercer was hired on for RE Death Island instead of Nick Apostilades. And that theory is that both Death Island and RE4R were in development at around the same time at least for part of the development cycle as both projects were released in the same year. Also Leon in RE4 (either release) is only 6 years older than the 21 year old rookie cop we met in the games that take place in 1998.
There's major problems with this theory. For starters It doesn't take the same amount of time to shoot a video game compared to a CGI movie, video games take a lot longer to shoot and I've heard from voice actors that they usually finish most their lines in the first year of development and return to shoot and additional lines later if need be (which doesn't take that long) and second if they hypothetically were going to hire Nick, than why didn't they hire Jeff Schine for the role of Chris? Also I don't understand the context of your second statement regarding Leon being 6 years older than in RE2, what does that have to do with anything?
@@projectweskerre RE3R was in development at least in part of its development cycle in the works at the same time as RE2R. And Village was being worked on right after RE2R finished development, which would explain the relative rapid release between RE2R, RE3R, Village, and then RE4R going into development shortly after Village. We kinda know that RE2R had a bit of a developmental hell at the start of its development as it took a long time to even see a trailer for it outside of the “We do it!” announcement video. And games actually do take longer to develop than you’d think. Village was in development for about 3.5 years before it got announced in June of 2020. Edit: what I was trying to get at a person’s voice realistically wouldn’t change much in 6 years especially when they’re in their twenties. Heck I still sound like I did when I was in my twenties and I’m 36 now
@@KionKamonI see so what you were trying to say is that Leon’s voice in 6 years shouldn’t change. Though the problem with this statement in regards to Leon, is that it did change. As explained in the video Nick’s voice for Leon in RE2R was different from his voice in RE4R. His voice sounds older, even though as you stated it takes place 6 years after the events of RE2R. Though the issue I have with Nicks performances is that in RE Infinite Darkness Nick portrays Leon like he did in RE2R though the glaring issue with this, is the fact that RE infinite darkness takes place 2 years after RE4R so its inconsistent as mentioned in the video.
@@projectweskerre okay, then perhaps sometime in between RE4R and Infinite Darkness Leon found the time he needed to address the trauma from Raccoon City? At least it seems like he’s not quite as troubled by the events from that night in 1998 in that film as he was in RE4R
