As a 2.8k MMR and mostly mid player, this is very helpful to me to advance my MMR and say “EZ Mid” at the end of the game (regardless if win or lose). Keep posting situational lane match up. Will subscribe to you. More power mr. yellow
if staying 2.8k I suggest trying another role, it may fit you better. Mid is the easiest lane to play and if you cant climb from there, perhaps youre better on another position.
Nice, great vid. Would like to know more like what a mid player should do in early, mid and late. Aside from that, please tell us what's the best thing a mid laner should do if he lose mid. Thanks!
Hey, thanks for the feedback. My schedule right now does not allow me the time to release videos on a frequent basis but there are many videos which I have in mind that are bound to come sometime in the future. Look out for those, thanks!
as well bellow MMR where this matters in my games, it's good to know the theory and put these into play. I do the aggro a lot, but I hadn't thought about the body blocking as much. Also I'm glad I'm justified in micro punishing opponent. I had thought from other videos that is better to Neve miss a single cs than it is to punish opponent and chase them off.
Hi bro, what the other videos were probably trying to say is if there was a last hit vs a harass, 9/10 of the time you would probably want to take the last hit before harassing the opponent. This is however, very case-by-case basis because if taking that creep meant giving up a ton of damage through harass, then the harass would probably be more worth it. But if giving up a creep only meant little harass on the enemy, then the creep would be more worth it. The best scenario is always to secure creeps and hit the enemy hero with an AOE spell at the same time to maximize spell casting and CS efficiency at the same time. The other Midlane video I created recently will probably show this way better, so do watch that video to understand further.
another excellent thing to do as a midlaner: when opposing mid dies, u pull his creeps sideways to avoid contact with ur creeps. ur creeps will go to enemy tower & the whole batch dies with the enemy hero not getting any gold nor exp from that batch. if u watch pro games, u see this is one common tricks of theirs another is, no matter how good u r or ur tricks are, these are useless if u got counterpicked hard. if u won a badly counterpicked match-up, its either the enemy were bad mechanically or ur support is great. it doesnt mean becoz ur so great. some bad match-up at mid is salvaged through support's heavy creep camp stacking like when Storm got owned at mid im a hyperaggressive midlaner. i made my opponents most of the time as poor with networth comparing to pos5. they only managed to avoid such disaster becoz of other interfering factor like supports
Just saw this video, really appreciate the insight! Just a question, what about during melee vs melee matchups or ranged vs range? Is the objective still the same?
Hi, laning objective is always the same. Get more resources than enemy, harass them by setting up favorable scenarios to punish using creep aggro, identify who's stronger and weaker and how to act accordingly.
Hi, I will be making a 1v1 series some time down the road where I will be looking for volunteers to teach them 1v1 and post these on the channel. Keep a lookout for that! :)
This explanation was great! In the case of playing tiny mid do you still want to creep aground to range and harass the enemy mid? Or just deny all creeps with the huge amount of damage?
Also to note,, you are using ironwood branch then tango so you get a faster regen speed. Most players at lower ranks wouldn't do this. Especially I never see it in Herald, aside from me doing it.
one comment tho, you need to be at similar exp/level, you can't ignore they level 2 first. in such extreme case like huskar / viper / necro they will out trade you if you are behind them in level, even level 2.
Hi nice video!! Suppose Level 1 enemy is stronger than me then after i deny the range creep as u mentioned...should i drag the wave to my twr and last hit or try to keep it on my side by moving in "U shape" to maintain creep equillibruim.
Hey, the ideal scenario would always to play as close to your side of the lane as possible. If your enemy is chasing you down then you are forced to drag the wave past the tower to hold it between your two towers instead. If he isn't running you down then you should be making the 'U shape' to hold the lane for your wave to meet.
I play this heros, And I really want to be good at them, (Batrider, Pangulier, Dp, invoker, Storm, Ember, Puck, Primal Beast, Earth spirit), I watch a lot and try to learn everything, but because of school I can't play yet but after a month I can play again :)
I dont understand how pulling the creep agro onto the range creep benefits me. Because that always just means that my creeps then end up attacking the enemy range creep so the enemy gets the exact same 'benefit' that I get. It's mirrored. We just both end up with all our melee creeps attacking the enemy ranged creep
you do it if you are melee to punish them. You might lose the enemy ranged creep sure, but you could make an even trade and set the tone for the next few minutes of gameplay.
hey i hit a fleeing hero with a spell and tried to right click follow and attack and my hero started attacking neutrals next to me instead. can you explain what i did wrong?
Hey bro, love your videos. Most of the time when I try to pull creep aggro to ranged creep two of the melee creeps give up and aggro back on the melee creeps again. How do I pull all the melee creeps onto my ranged creep every time like you do? 👊
Hi, that's because creep aggro duration only lasts for 2.3 seconds. After that, it will stop chasing you. You need to attack the creep for it to chase after you still as the creep is about to turn back after aggro for it to stay on you, or you need to reaggro again after the cooldown ends.
One thing Ive learn from Sumail & topson perspective is they always hitting enemy if he’s range vs Melee unless the cs is low enough to secure ,sometimes they will even just keep clicking enemy rather then securing the creep ,and I found this way is very effective to push enemy out of their lane,do you think this is the right approach or just play for cs game in the lane and wait for own timing ?
The idea is about who's stronger than the opposition. As long as you will win a trade, you will almost always give up the other priorities like denying, aggroing and last hitting to trade the enemy unless you can use spells to secure last hits and trade at the same time which is the most efficient way to trade. This concept is called playing for 'contested creeps' to bait out the enemy so you create an earlier advantage to trade.
Every time I do this without a spell hero to take the range, they always take mine out first. Should I tank the 3 melees to try to get the range or just sac it? Seems bad if I do that.
Hello, the melee creeps will only hit you if you put yourself within aggro range of the creeps, specifically in front of them and issue an attack command on the enemy. Whether or not you are able to secure the creep depends on many more factors such as heroes, positioning to creeps, health etc
Hey i have a question hope u can reply on that: when i need to go for bottlr first item or actually some state item first? was struggling like im playing qop vs vois spirit while if i go 4 iron branches i feel like he is more pain than im that i not able to fight him even with range due to creep is hitting me as well. In that scenario izit buying state item first will be a better idea or still need to go for bottle and spam skill on void?
hi, i don't understand why as you said if windranger gets lvl 3-4 ember can't win the lane anymore. I thought ember always wins this matchup because he gets levels on his w and spams it (i am a wr player)
Hey, WR's powershot would one shot ember's flame guard easily in the early lvl 1-3. The only way ember would win this is if wr doesn't hit him at all and just keeps hitting creeps, not using spells on the guy and allowing ember to run into her face and somehow just stands there. Perhaps what you might be describing here is underplaying yourself as wr or you just got outplayed by a good ember player.
If melee vs melee, usually we will trade whenever spell is up from either side. Of course, this is still going to be dependent on power spikes of the match up. If enemy hero is in your face, then you will mostly right click them and throw spell to trade. If range vs range, this is more about making the enemy ranged hero walk in to take a creep, then you will need to try and trade the enemy without drawing aggro by running out of creep aggro range. It is however, still viable to draw aggro and hit the enemy hero as long as you are doing more damage to the enemy than he is doing to you.
One thing I noticed about this guide is that when you played windranger you went blight stone meaning you will not be able to get bottle before water runes which could mean that all the trading gets nullified since bottle in current patch is basically full heal at 2 mins. You also went salve on ember spirit instead of spending less gold and rushing bottle. I generally only spend about 300ish gold when I play mid do you think this aggressive trading is worth it against a hero that can full heal at 2 mins with bottle? When I play mid lane I focus more on making sure I secure all the CS to crow my bottle straight away unless I'm in a clearly dominant matchup or the enemy has had a mistake that is too easy to punish. Edit: (I've found playing like this to work at around 5k mmr but I do think that this is correct way to play mid on the older patches pre water rune.)
hes actually teaching you how to handle early creep wave by giving opponent pressure also. With your playstyle you prob gonna only have 50 50 lane most of the time, or even giving the opponent hero opportunity to hit their level spike easily.
@@ryoshi04 Well I'm pretty sure i already kind of do this subconciously but only slightly less aggressive. I just found the item builds to be unrealistic on current patch.
Hi, to explain further on this, Windranger with a blight stone into a melee hero makes it so that she can keep poking without ever getting poked back which can add in a lot of initial harass into the lane. Similar to how Mirana and Hoodwink can do the same thing because of how they can abuse melee heroes without getting hit to further push every trade's advantage. mThe thing about bottle is if you save for bottle, the chances of you dominating the lane is going to fall significantly if by the time you hit that bottle, you had done minimal or suboptimal harass to the opponent. Like mentioned in the video, the lane is easily decided by level 1-2 in the first four waves. IF you are able to pull the enemy in and push them out all the time with favorable trades, simply sending out a salve and some mangoes with full health full mana when the enemy is stuck with below half health will significantly win you the lane almost immediately regardless of whether or not you have that early bottle which could in fact even delay the trading advantage you would have in lane if you wait too late.
I am not advocating for forcing trades, I am simply teaching you to identify favorable trades, to recover immediately after instead of waiting for the bottle which will make you recover too slow and lose advantage. Perhaps what you are referring to is more of playing for CS, trading off VERY obvious spell casts and mispositions without much punishment and waiting for the bottle to come slowly at prior minute 2. However, I can guarantee you that if you play against a very good mid laner, you will not have that time to buy the bottle because of how much recovery is necessary to simply just sit in lane and take creeps. I hope that helps. :)
These heroes that are lane dominators often have their power spikes. So, you need to abuse them before they get stronger in lane. For example, Shadow Fiend and Viper at lvl 1-2 is not that dangerous unless SF has 2 razes stacked on you, and 3+ stacks from Viper. Once they hit lvl 3 onwards, that is when the lane gets hard. So, your goal is to try and get as much out of the lane as possible without having sf raze you 3 times (reset raze if already got 2 stacks from SF or 3 stacks from Viper).
@@BalloonDota bro another thing i noticed, that makes my trade very inefficient, is that when im ranged and i hit enemy melee from hg i pull all creeps to me, and to not try to pull them under tower i tank them, and even if i move i take a lot of damage with heroes like invoker, and i lose the harrass even tho the enemy didnt evne hit me once. Creeps keeps attacking me while i spam right click
@@federicocapriotti2180 hey, you need to harass only when you are able to win the trade. That means you should be taking lesser damage, either from the creeps, the enemy hero or both so you need to know how to hit without getting hit, or hit and get hit but still do more damage. I will make a video soon about how to win most trades in mid, heads up for that

I will make a video soon about how to win most trades in mid, heads up for that
@@BalloonDota bro, ur awesome thank you, i'll wait for the video :)
