Exactly! The universe doesn't owe you a thing. Why should anything be any less difficult than it is, and why should one not have to fail repeatedly before getting something right?
Another thing: most tutorials on YT are made by people who have already mastered something (say DUXs) and 'learners' tend to unwittingly form the impression that the skill should seem as easy when they try to learn it. Videos such as these are better -- you see someone failing again and again -- and ultimately being able to just about perform the skill clumsily. And one is made aware of how normal it is to be clumsy before one gets smooth.
This is such a great encouragement for learning my regular du's thank you😀 videos help, mine showed my left wrist was not as mobile as my right....... apart from all the other issues😀
I've finally gotten to where I can DU reasonably reliably and can do blocks of 10 without too much drama. Personally I think people make it harder on themselves using wire ropes. Either go with PVC or beaded ropes. The additional weight provides so much more feedback. It also makes other jump rope moves (or tricks) accessable. For DU crossovers - take a look at Jump 15, he has an excellent tutorial. Perhaps you guys could do a colab.
Hi Ben, we want to see your double under cross progression and get some more pointers. After watching your video I can only do 1 rep. but cannot keep the rope spinning fast enough to link more reps. together.
1 more thing - you might start just doing cross-overs without the DU. Just get you to the rhythm of jumping while crossing and uncrossing your arms. Perhaps be able to do that 10 times before adding other stuff like foot work or DUs. Going from doing DUs to DU crosses is like going from doing Chest to Bar pull ups to ring muscle ups.
I would like to add, the philosophy of "expose yourself to repeated failure" can apply to almost anything that you try to learn

Nice video, definitely master both the single crossover and double unders, then put them together in ladder like you did

So Ben...is a double under crossover...1 single plus one single cross over in the space of one jump? or two x cross overs in the space of one jump?
