There's a couple of other cards missing from the complete Brave "deck": Breath of Resurrection, Thunder Discharge, Zaralaam the Dark Palace, Starlit Papillon, "Dunnel, the Noble Arms of Light" & Sacred Spirit Vessel Thesa
Two small mistakes: 1) Rite stops effects of all non-special summoned monsters. Meaning a normal set then flip summoned monster doesn't get its effects either. 2) Dracoback can use its bounce if equipped to any non-effect monster, not just the token meaning extra utility in decks that play them. Other than those two, great video.
The craziest thing about the adventure engine is that, it was never hit in any way in the tcg. It probably should have, but Power of the Elements was coming out so It power crept it fast.

I feel like another big reason is that 'free bodies' isn't as much of an upside in current decks - there's just a lack of decks that really benefit from generic link climbing above and beyond a small tight engine and the like. Mostly they want to be able to climb within their locks / levels and the like, and/or have a really tight deck that needs to fit a lot of non-engine for the format.
Ever since they were first revealed, I had always wanted to play a pure Adventure deck, because I loved the theme, and found on simulators that the pure deck was actually really fun. But when they were released, the most important cards were prohibitively expensive from out of the gate. I pray that when those new tins come out that I'll finally be able to afford those cards.
@@SloopYGO you are indeed correct and it annoys me to no end. I was only ever able to play a pure deck at full power using the unofficial simulators, but it was fun when I did.
P.U.N.K. also played into the lack of Adventure representation. It's just as versatile as the Adventure engine without turning off your normal summon's effect. It just needs the right kind of deck to work and it hasn't really had one since Prank Kids.
I think the only thing stopping the adventurer engine of being played more is the price of the cards. Because it's an engine that feels tailor-made for older and/or weaker decks to have more fuel for negates. I'm pretty sure if Konami reprints the cards in greater numbers we'll see something like Invoked once was, a lot of people slapping it in rogue decks and doing some great stuff with it.
The Brave Engine never felt “good” to use imo. It made sense in Pranks for the reasons mentioned at 11:00. Even though it resulted in more powerful boards for many other decks, you were playing more bricks. I hated that 2022 Q1-Q2 meta. It was 5-6 different decks turboing into some variation of the Scythe lock.
Its best use right now is in Rank 7 Turbo stuff, which is basically just Kashtira and Dark Magician. DM is basically just Dragoon Turbo at this point, and Kashtira's best use of it is propping their board up with a negate, which is fine but takes a lot of Main Deck space they're waiting for banlist hits to be able to fill.
adventure and meow mu aren't restricted in master duel and nobody uses them. Its a totally dumb TCG mentality that adventure prank kids didn't get powercrept like literally a few months after it became a thing and was promptly banned.
Runick has kinda taken over what Adventure did for the most part some decks are in no rush for a battle phase also free bodies runick can throw out is good for ED plays
Swordsoul didn't use Scythe because they would protoss lock you, branded would either summon scythe or Ra's disciple with Expulsion and Floundareezes with wind barrier statue
Want to talk about a deck that was meta definingly powerful and disappeared in a year. Drytron. Decks own restriction blocking the special summon of any monster that could be normal summoned or set destroyed most hybrid engines outright which meant that power creep is a big problem. Then it had 3 archetypes come out that basically hard counter it. First was the ishizu fairies, then the bystials, and finally kashtira. So we had a powerful archtype that went largly untouched asside from ed staples and the engines that is now deeply into rogue territory.
i love the adventure engine i have it in like half my main decks in master duel a omni negate that can comeback every turn, fateful adventures discard can actually be helpful like with tears and ishizu and draco back has saved my butt in silly ways like equipping it to a nib token to bounce nib. illegal knight can also be good if you have space but usually i cant fit in though.
Adventure has seen a lot of experimentation with the new Ringowurm level 2 dragon tuner because it can special summon itself from the hand if you control a non-effect monster and recurs itself for synchro climbing.
Well it's just dragoon problem anyway, in the place where maxx C not exist adventure are just decent engine, but if there a maxx c wel this engine is the best thing you can have.
I really do wonder if this archetype gets more support but in exchange encourages on the use and playing around the token instead of being made splashable.
I mean, you can make a 45 card deck with just brave engine cards (15 different cards), it's certainly capable of "being it's own deck", just not a very good one. Not going to lie at all, adventure kashtira is op as wandering gryphon rider negates nibiru/eclispe to help kashtira and kastira sp summon themselves anyways so aramesir doesnt hinder them
