You’re also forgetting the fact tcg is stupidly slow compared to ocg and MD so of course maxx c is ultra broken there whereas it’s kind of needed to allow a format to be fast without seeming uncounterable

I'm not sure exactly what the OCG's rules on scooping (to Victory Dragon) was, but I heard that either you're only allowed to scoop on your turn or your opponent must accept your forfeit for it to count?
No, that would cause too many issues. Instead it should be something like MBT's tournaments, where most crazy cards are free, but not the problematic ones, so the format is still somewhat stable.

Look into the OCG no banlist tournaments. It's all Tearlaments and Victory Dragonlink. The reason Victory Dragon is used in the OCG is because the surrender rules are different and require both players to approve. If you're going to win a match with only one game, you're not going to accept a surrender.

My no banlist decklist for funzies/solitare/proving why there needs to be a banlist: 1 of each exodia piece 2 Royal Magical Library 3 Pot of Greed 3 Graceful Charity 3 Upstart Goblin 3 Into the Void 3 One Day of Peace 3 Golden Bamboo Sword 2 Pot of Duality 3 Painful Choice 1 Broken Bamboo Sword 3 Cursed Bamboo Sword 3 Chicken Game 1 Pseudo Space 2 Terraforming 17 cards replace themselves, 18 go even or generate advantage, 5 bricks, 1 fun solitaire deck If you want truly broken/to prove errata necessity, do the same list but change out: - 5 exodia pieces - 1 Royal Magical Library + 3 Makyura the Destructor (pre errata) + 1 Exchange of the Spirit (pre errata) + 1 Reckless Greed + 1 Soul Release - to remove hand traps from opponents grave or as last ditch at going 2nd if they don't put too much in grave More consistent but you need to go first for it to work. Can go 2nd with exodia vs a couple negates. Lose hard to droll though lol

Why do you think he searched for Soul Charge in the first place rather than something else? If he really just wanted card draw, he could've searched for three Pot of Greed and two Graceful Charity, but he chose not to. Presumably he does have something that makes Soul Charge useful.

his arguement at 5:17 makes no sense. yes the pot can convert to soul charge plus something else, but considering 2 would be gone and assuming a 40 card deck, the chance of pot drawing it would be like 5%. if he didnt have a hand in which soul charge could do something, then why go for soul charge and not any of the other 30 cards?
i used to play a custom format i made with a buddy of mine that i called “Kaoss”. the goal was simply, Chaos. No deck limit, to counter people just making decks of massive proportions, we did graveyard reshuffle, where if you out drew your deck you piled your graveyard, reshuffled, and then played with your deck again. no cards were banned, including those from other formats. often times both people had archenemy decks and planes, which was fun. planeshifting is removed, instead players may pick one plane and play it. it effects both players. sideboard was a separate deck, that could be looked through at anytime. essentially a second hand, but you could not have more cards in your side deck than in half your main deck. each player must get 2 turns before somebody can start winning, to prevent one turn wins often there were limits on specific cards, like you could only have a max of 4 black lotus or blacker lotus in a deck. you had a commander, but also a character card (sliver queen was very fun) if you want more niche rules, reach out to me, but that basically explains it

I’d do ether a exodia deck cos so many draw spells legal equals super easy time to ftk, or I’d run a Laval quasar turbo deck. They are so close to being able to get 3 quasars and a blazer turn 0. But due to some consistency issues it doesn’t work. But with banned cards it makes the combo stupidly hard to beat and can negate nearly everything

It's both players have to agree to the forfeit so you pretty much can't scoop in the ocg

Traditional format is probably honestly not bad. It seems a lot more fair I think when you only get to play with one of all the busted cards

If you want truly broken/to prove errata necessity, do the same list but change out:
- 5 exodia pieces
- 1 Royal Magical Library
+ 3 Makyura the Destructor (pre errata)
+ 1 Exchange of the Spirit (pre errata)
+ 1 Reckless Greed
+ 1 Soul Release - to remove hand traps from opponents grave or as last ditch at going 2nd if they don't put too much in grave
More consistent but you need to go first for it to work. Can go 2nd with exodia vs a couple negates. Lose hard to droll though lol

Now that he's taken two Soul Charges out of his deck, the chance that Pot of Greed would draw him into the one remaining Soul Charge is pretty low (less than 7%) - significantly lower than the chance he will get a Soul Charge if you give him Soul Charge, which is 100%. And yes, he could potentially get more draw spells but at least he took all three Pots of Greed out of his deck, so the chance of drawing one of the remaining draw spells is somewhat lower.

Why do you think he searched for Soul Charge in the first place rather than something else? If he really just wanted card draw, he could've searched for three Pot of Greed and two Graceful Charity, but he chose not to. Presumably he does have something that makes Soul Charge useful.

his arguement at 5:17 makes no sense. yes the pot can convert to soul charge plus something else, but considering 2 would be gone and assuming a 40 card deck, the chance of pot drawing it would be like 5%. if he didnt have a hand in which soul charge could do something, then why go for soul charge and not any of the other 30 cards?

i used to play a custom format i made with a buddy of mine that i called “Kaoss”. the goal was simply, Chaos.
No deck limit, to counter people just making decks of massive proportions, we did graveyard reshuffle, where if you out drew your deck you piled your graveyard, reshuffled, and then played with your deck again.
no cards were banned, including those from other formats. often times both people had archenemy decks and planes, which was fun. planeshifting is removed, instead players may pick one plane and play it. it effects both players.
sideboard was a separate deck, that could be looked through at anytime. essentially a second hand, but you could not have more cards in your side deck than in half your main deck.
each player must get 2 turns before somebody can start winning, to prevent one turn wins
often there were limits on specific cards, like you could only have a max of 4 black lotus or blacker lotus in a deck.
you had a commander, but also a character card (sliver queen was very fun)

I’d do ether a exodia deck cos so many draw spells legal equals super easy time to ftk, or I’d run a Laval quasar turbo deck. They are so close to being able to get 3 quasars and a blazer turn 0. But due to some consistency issues it doesn’t work. But with banned cards it makes the combo stupidly hard to beat and can negate nearly everything
