I’ve been there for 9 years now, and I wouldn’t do anything else. I knew from the very beginning this was something I wanted to stick with and make work for me. In addition to being a job I enjoy coming to everyday, my overall lifestyle has gone way up. I enjoy great health benefits, a comfortable living, accrue a substantial retirement nest egg, own a home, and get to travel on my time off. Prior to coming to TriMet, I never stayed at a job more than 2 or 3 years.
Hi kid😂
Bro I’m in the same boat, so to hear you’re story sounds like I’m going to enjoy this
Annuity Pensions for all Career Transit Bus Operator's. They are Essential Front Line Workers who deserve the same respect as Police, Fire and Emergency Personnel.
Driving a city bus is like driving a large shipping container around town. It's a lot at first.
I remember my first time. I was so ready to drive the city bus. Now I'm upgrading to CLASS A CDL. Just got my CDL CLASS A PERMIT
Congrats
What made you wanna go class A? I have a class A and am considering a city bus. Government job and benefits
@@charkswitlazersme too as well
Reminds me of the time I drove a bus from Sacramento to Los Angeles, it was my regular run. As we were leaving one morning a guy got on and said he need to go to Hollywood. I told him you're on the right bus we're going to Los Angeles, and took off, he started screaming NO I'm going to Hollywood, before I could explain to him, that Hollywood was just an area in Los Angeles. He jumped off the bus when I was doing 10 miles an hour, rolled around on the concrete. I stopped to see if he was all right and he just gave me the finger. I didn't think any more about it, until the next day. I was on my regular run from Sacramento to LA again, when I see this guy with a bandage head hitchhiking, holding up a sign that says Hollywood or bust. I'll say this he must have busted his head when he fell. And I always wondered if he got a ride with anybody did they tell him they are going to Los Angeles. If so he might have jumped out. This happened in April 1976 but I remember it like yesterday
Interesting,

Probably couldn’t even turn it on. ;-)
And if I wanted to I could make it so it’d take you quite a bit of time to figure out how to make it move.
I have training soon, any tips? Anyone
Don’t panic
I am bus driver saudi arabia🎉
Are these buses automatic transmission?
they haven't made a transit bus in North America in almost 40 years with a manual transmission.
Yeah, thats why a lot of women are bus drivers in USA. However, if you look at semi truck drivers who should know how to drive a vehicle with an 18 speed manual transmission, very few of them are women.
@@thegoat5587😮😒 O.P❗️😂
Not every CDL-A licensed driver has to drive an 18 speed. That is nonsense.
Maybe women have interest in giving people rides and not so much in long hauling freight.
Sir give me aa chance sir pls
Florida governor need to a law for over 50 years old to retake the driving license every three months.
I don’t need the money at all.
Learn to put your words together will you
Ddot bus Detroit got the worst training they just have you drive and yell they don't teach nothing those are the worst trainer in the world wondering why they drivers have the most accident and always hitting someone or killing people ddot is why it would be better if you had 1 trainer but you got 4 fighting each other teaching different things
You even went back and edited that atrocity of a comment?! You need to get off line and study for your GED with that punctuation my friend.
@@XoX1971 Never mind punctuation. Do people really articulate like that? Shameful!
