    Why am I not surprised that JYP wrote Adult Ceremony... that man cannot be trusted and reeks of shifty things and I'm honestly scared because he works with so many young women in kpop. Not only does he work with them, we know he treats them differently from the male idols under his company (got7 on knowing bros) and also because we know he attempts to keep a 'closer' connection with his idols (at least in a public sphere) than most other ceos (that we know of). I'm honestly scared for his idols.

    the sexualization of minors and idols in general bothers me so much. i feel so sick about hyuna. for the longest time, she got labeled with this certain image due to her debut when she was a LITERAL CHILD (i teach middle school/9th grade and imagining those comments about my students j use makes me uncomfortable and sick to my stomach) and everyone had it set in their minds that she was going to be this sex icon. when you watch her and see her personality, she liked to show off different sides of herself and dresses so eclectically. while she was in cube, she didn’t really look like she enjoyed the concept of herself until much later. it’s only recently that she looks truly happy because PNation allows her to be free. the idea that you’re forced to be a certain way to be liked just bothers me. no individuality. you’re a product that is sold and purchased. that’s it. you’re profitable. you’re an object.

    At about 44:00 you say that a fan was filming up the skirts of Nine Muses during a performance, this is actually false as the man who filmed up their skirts wasn't a fan but was a cameraman that was hired for the event, if you look at the whole clip you can see that Hyuna notices that they are being filmed up their skirts as she turns towards the screen behidn them and sees the video on the screen, you also mentioned that she told staff behind stage, but what she actually did was tell the other members about the fact that they were being filmed up their skirts. This is also why she personally told the man to stop filming up their skirts. Had she not seen the screen where the footage was shown she wouldn't have even known about it.

    I’d also like to add that in the Radio Star interview in which Zico mentioned the “Golden phone”, JJY looked visibly uncomfortable when the phone was brought up and tried to steer the conversation away rather quickly.
    Zico is many things, but he isn’t stupid. Far from it. He’s actually really smart. Him being involved and mentioning JJY’s phone in such a context would be so out of character for him because that would’ve been just about the stupidest thing he could’ve possibly done. And I’ll put it this way- him mentioning that Contact Phone is probably what absolves him most (in my eyes at least). If he was involved, believe you me, we wouldn’t have heard about it. He would’ve taken special care to not mention that phone, or to draw any sort of attention to JJY’s phones at all. That’s what the people who were actually involved did- they literally just never spoke of JJY in such ways. Examples being the member of FT Island and the member of CNBLUE that were involved, as well as the other people in the chatroom.
    Zico was also never even mentioned by the police and though he was looked into due to this interview, was never brought in for questioning because the police never found any proof of contact between him and JJY in the Kakao chatrooms. AFAIK they actually stopped associating with each other a bit before Burning Sun broke, too. Zico’s someone who’s friends with everyone- Hyuna and Jessi being two that come to mind, as well as Hwasa, Penemoco, Dean, Crush, the list goes on. JJY was just one of those many, many friends. And considering unlike JJY and others involved, Zico’s never actually had any inappropriate conduct allegations brought against him, I personally have a hard time believing he was involved.
    So, thank you for properly representing the facts of the situation rather than just jumping on the Zico Hate Train. I really appreciate the attention to detail and research that you put into your videos.
    For those who want a super detailed timeline and description of everything that went on in Burning Sun, r/Kpop has a REALLY good breakdown of it and every person who was even tangentially related (via being in active contact with JJY at the time).

    OMG I'm Chilean and the Dreamies almost being detained will always be remembered by Chilean nctzens JSJJS. At that time, back on 2019, all was a BIG mess (There are numerous threads on twt, specially in spanish, where people talked about the situation), the company in charge of holding the SMTOWN in Santiago, NOIX ent. was not reliable (they had a VERY BIG debt) and many people "funaron" (idk a word in english for this thing) on twt for the bad management of concerts (because this was NOT the 1st time they had a bad management and treatment to the audience).
    At first, in 2019, the dreamies thing was fun, because the people of the airport took pictures of them being held but we had no idea why. Lo tomamos para la chacota la verdad. But when that one tweet went viral, that they almost were detained for not having the work permit, was shocking and all these was fault of the stupid bad management of NOIX ent.
    Anyways, the chilean fandom and I included took this very lightly and for memes because our country always happens this irrealistic things, somos enteros yetas, and this señor, csm the second hand embarastment for the things he said, he literally treat them like fucking CRIMINALS, "y que en Chile las cosas son de una manera y ellos no pueden llegar y romper nuestras leyes así como así, y aunque sean artistas ellos tienen que seguir las leyes" OMFG this was hilarous and even the Dreamies had know idea what was really going that they even waved to cameras with happy faces JSJSJ. The chapter itself was called "Illegal popstars" so we just laugh at this and took it as a memory that in our country always happens this kind of things JSSJSJ.
    BTW I'm not saying that this was right but it was never fault of NCT nor SM but NOIX ent. This was very long but I thought I was my time to shine because I know a lot of this things and even went to the SMTOWN in Santiago. PD: I really like your videos and I hope you are doing well, a lot of hugs !!

    for ANS, it just seems like that girl was having a hard time trying to balance school, the pandemic, and a failing group. not only was she trying to balance being an idol and a student, but she had to do it all in a pandemic which had HUGE health and economic repercussions. its already hard of enough for nobody companies to make money, but with covid going around, so many are not going to survive solely because they physically cannot promote because of covid limitations.
    so for that girl to go through all of this, it just seems like she was going through it and maybe feeling hopeless. she's young, so everything might've just overwhelmed her to the point she couldn't take it.

    I ALWAYS get hate when I talk about this on the internet but honestly... I don't know how people have such a hard time even suspecting Seungri. Even after everything that was talked about in this video, from SA, sponsors, the constant sexualisation and some fans will still go miles to defend their idols when ''scandals'' like this come out. It's not unusual for men to abuse their power in pop culture industry (or in any industry at all lbh). I just find it so hard to believe he was not involved at all. I've seen fans go as far as to say they met Seungri once and he was so nice!! So how could he have done this???
    I've been a K-pop stan for many many years and it's always hard to swallow when our faves do something horrible. But they do and we must hold them accountable for it.

    • @orangeoak5319
      @orangeoak5319 3 года назад

      So from what I’ve found by following the case, Seungri was not involved in the molka. However he HAS admitted to prostitution, which is still a crime in Korea. He’s still a criminal. And that’s not including the alleged tax evasion and such that he’s also admitted to. r/Kpop has a really good megathread breaking down EXACTLY what happened, why he was involved, and what we know about his actual transgressions. Either way, he wasn’t innocent overall, just of recording and sharing hidden camera footage.

    • @orangeoak5319
      @orangeoak5319 3 года назад +1

      @1TZl3Na ME Homie the r/Kpop thread is EXTREMELY well researched, and includes literally dozens of sources if you bothered to read it. It even includes who was accused of what and their statements on the matter. If you’re going to give me “proof” that he didn’t hire prostitutes, maybe HIS (very weak) testimony of “lol why would I want to do that” isn’t the most compelling evidence. Keep going though sweetie you’re almost there follow the light

    • @orangeoak5319
      @orangeoak5319 3 года назад

      @1TZl3Na ME Did you ever think there hasn’t been a conviction for him because sex crimes are very underpunished in Korea? Like how one of the TVXQ members was recently found to frequent illegal sex clubs and hasn’t faced any repercussions for it? Or how JJY only got 6 years in prison but has managed to appeal it to get a lower sentence? The fact that he’s been dragged into it for 3 years makes him look terrible because if he were truly innocent of any and all crime whatsoever he’d have been ruled out of the investigation back in the beginning just like multiple other people were 🥰

    can we talk about how exo is literally the only group who still has those "illegal contracts"???? their total contract is of 10 years which i dont think is legal now. groups who debuted in 2012 or even after 2012 have gone thru atleast one contact period completion and theres exo spending their 9th year with sm like??? they even said theyll have to wait until most of their military enlistment gets over for the contract to be up, which means theyll be spending around 12 years in that company. if sehun n kai dont have to enlist soon, they can probably leave after the 10th year but every member besides yixing will probably have to wait till 2024 or 2025???

    sidenote: if you're speaking about the company that manages bts and txt, they're still called bighit (well, "bighit music" technically). their parent company (formerly called "bighit entertainment") is hybe, and hybe's other subsidiaries include source and pledis. hybe doesn't directly manage any idol groups. so, while saying "bighit, now known as hybe" is *technically* correct, it's only correct if you're talking about the company that owns bighit and not bighit (the company that manages bts and txt) itself.
    no hate intended! i just wanted to mention it since it confused me a lot at first and having an explanation in the comments could help others understand. ^___^

    25:26 - Slave Contracts
    I hope people would appreciate JYJ more because they sacrificed the peak of their career for idol contracts to be scrutinized, which resulted in the following generations of idols not having to suffer what their generation had. Also, pls take note they are still punished now in S. Korea by SM Ent (though they deny this, ofc) for their actions a decade and some ago. They cannot appear on national broadcasts and are only limited to cable program exposures. Yet, even so, Jaejoong and Junsu's solo careers are doing fantastic and they are well respected by their colleagues in the industry.

    29:53 I really wasn't expecting my country to be in this iceberg, especially because it didn't have to do with Noix Entertainment (the show producers that brought SM to our country). The show of SM Entertainment was problematic for many reasons: terrible security, the staff didn't respect the price of the tickets, the stage was terrible and you could barely see the members, an "influencer" got videos of the Korean staff without permission, deffective lightsticks that couldn't be returned, etc. The company also manages W24 in Chile, and they haven't promoted them like they should have.

    To be honest when it comes to Big Hit & Dispatch I'd say that Dispatch could also face political pressure to "keep BTS clean" IF anything has or had came out. BTS is a substantial portion of "Korea's face".

    Sexualization is ok if it’s actually what an idol intended/is ok with themselves and to be honest the act of being sexually attracted towards idols is also normal just due to our human nature but literally 9/10 times it’s a company who’s forcing those idols to display themselves in that manner. Also, the sexualization of children and idols who are not even official adults yet is just downright disgusting and atrocious. Seriously, there is definitely a major case of pedophilia and sexual harassment in the K-Pop industry, and to add onto that South Korea’s justice system is also atrocious seeing how a pedophile/rapist can get off easy with 3-5 years. Major yikes... I doubt anything will change, idols are a lot more expressive and out-spoken these days which is a good thing but I’m sure there is still a lot that is unspoken of. There will always be shady things going on in any music industry regardless of the country.

    • @jihoonscarat
      @jihoonscarat  2 года назад +1

      I’m not super educated about child labour laws in Korea but from what I understand there is no law banning kids from “working” as an idol. There are certain limits as to how long they can work but of course I don’t think that counts all the training they need to do in between schedules. It’s a very grey area. And yea sadly older fans sexualising young idol is a ve serious issue that should be taken more seriously.
