Excellent as always. I had horrible squeal on my commuter that was embarrassingly loud, shrill and terrified children as well as seniors at intersections. This how-to solved the problem completely. Calvin is the man!
yes your right - lots of bikes, over the years, have had a non drive side thats a drive side - a little like lefty forks or righty forks even left and righty rear stays - the bike still works just the same.
For another great result. Do what ive been doing. I dont use the bike unless it rains. The rain lubricates the brakes. No squeal. Granted, there are downsides to my method.
As a bike courier, i actually love when my breaks squeal. When people think that bike lanes are great as sidewalks, i just brake a little and every single one of them scatters like dumb pigeons. (Nah, shouting EXCUSE ME or using bells aren't working unfortunatelly.)
Good question! We hope to address disc brake squeal in a future video. In the meantime, here is an older video of ours that runs through several troubleshooting methods for disc brake noise: ruclips.net/video/2-7jVpJikRQ/видео.html
So you have a stationary bike and the brakes are making noise? Are you using the brakes to give resistance? If so I would look to make sure the pads are not warn out. Our videos on Rim Brakes might give you more info as well. Thanks for reaching out.

i cleaned my wheels with alcohol. I sanded down my brakes. don't know what else to do :(
There are times you may need to try a different pad with a different compound.
Great, but how do you fix squeaky disc brakes?
