    • @dylanc6480
      @dylanc6480 2 года назад

      The issue with a brand new blade is that there's probably release agent left from the molding process. I would imagine a decent clean with warm water and dish soap would help a lot with adhesion, whether it's the rezztek or regular old tape. Especially on first time applications.

  • @JKERLZ
    @JKERLZ 2 года назад +4

    Just buy a big roll of 4” non skid tape from Lowe’s, Home Depot , or Amazon and trace your blade then cut it out. Save one cut out or a cut a piece of cardboard out and use as a template and you can tape your stick 20-40 times for $15-$20.

  • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
    @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews 2 года назад +15

    Good to see you actually use it around your rink. Surprised you said the blade tape grips the puck more than the rez I found the opposite. Both are good for tricks but stick handling bizzare grips to much. Unfortunately in actual games it last mere hours as in a real game just like tape the odds of a skate or another stick taking a chunk off it is quick. The problem is tape is Pennies and this is not. It’s damaged quickly because it’s so thin which was its biggest surprise. Interested to see someone else test this and their opinion. Good video and loved the dive In you took. Also sick rink jealous

    • @PavelBarber
      @PavelBarber  2 года назад

      Blade tape is the name of the sticky tape you put on sticks it’s like rubber. You don’t find that one more grippy? Crazy haha.

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
      @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews 2 года назад +1

      @@PavelBarber the sand paper of the rez seems to get into the texture on the side of the puck easily. The blade tape is great for tricks since it’s rubber and using on the top of the puck but man that grippiness of the rez makes me lose the puck all game soon as I stick handle. Maybe it’s cause we are beer leaguers and the nhlers can play better lol. Anyway good video enjoy watching your stuff

      @@puzzo5370 Yeah I'm a center and I've had plenty of times where you see your blade being stepped on and kicked when fighting for a puck.
      But he's a great player. So he knows what you're talking about. But I'm sure this is a sponsored video. They gave them to him to get a good review. Also, tape 100%, does protect the bottom of your blade.
      He doesn't have to pay for his stuff so he probably has tons of sticks and only uses them for a season or so. Guys that have to buy their sticks want to protect them. Ice isn't that smooth. It will rip up the bottom of your blade if you don't tape it. Want proof, just look at your tape after a few games. The bottom will be worn and ripped. NHL guys do often cut the bottom off their tape job. But they also don't pay for sticks and they get as many as they want, as often as they want.
      So unless you're rich, or in a serious hockey league, this is a huge waste of money.
      No disrespect to Barber. He's just doing his job.

    • @PavelBarber
      @PavelBarber  2 года назад

      @@darthollpheist1156 The amount your tape protects the bottom is probably dry minimal if it is.
