I was born in Fort Worth. My parents are buried in Colleyville, along with all my grandparents. Thank you, Lamont, for the wonderful job of bringing history back to life
My mother and grandmother are buried in Oakwood Cemetary est. 1879, in Northside ftw, as well. This cemetary is a NPO and maintenance is expected to be maintained by family members within family border foundation. The bordered plots are likely of the same expectation.
Was born in Fort Worth. Dad (Korea, Air Force), Grandfather (WWI, Army), Grandmother (Best Cook in TX by way of Scotland), Great Uncles and Aunts, cousins are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth.
I've lived in Ft Worth all my life, was born here and never knew that cemetery existed. Thanks for the video. Always like the way you tell the story as you are walking to the site of the subject of the video. Take care and safe travels.
I am a resident of Ft Worth,Tx, and always wanted to visit this cemetery. You were lucky to find it open for viewing and so was I. Thanks for doing all the leg work and thanks for the great stories on these departed souls. Ft Worth has a very old cemetery close to the historic stockyards on Grand Ave. With civil war veteran's buried there, maybe next time.
I especially love when you do the graves of the 1800s. I find that time to be very interesting, albeit sad, due to people dying so young. I love hearing the backgrounds of the people buried during that time in history. Thank you for another great video!
Can the county start up a bingo in the town to donations for someone to go to the cemeteries an fix.start with one cemetery an show the first stone to be related
These are my favorite types of videos of yours. I find walks through cemeteries to be peaceful, and it’s nice to learn about people’s stories; it’s like honoring them.
Hello Lamont, good to see u. Please, stay safe, & vigilant out there, especially when u travel from state to state, u have no idea how ppl are, & what they're up to, pretty scary. Great video, God Bless.✌🏻out
Hi Lamont, you are in my neck of the woods, so to speak. I'm sorry that you are having van problems. I was born in Fort Worth in 1954 at the air force base. Dad , native born Texan 1916 was in the Air Force, so was I. Coincidentally, Carswell AFB was my own first permanent duty station in 1975. It's fascinating to see this post, I remember running around Fort Worth, Ridglea area, Roaring Springs Road, Hulan Blvd... Lots of history. In the early 1980s I worked with one of the Van Zandt descendants in Fort Worth. I'm about 20 miles east of Dallas now. I love your channel, you are so kind and respectful of everyone that you cover. Your attitude and all the research that you do is much appreciated!
Beautiful and very historic cemetery. I have no doubt that in the big empty spaces are unmarked graves or perhaps the markers have been swallowed by the earth.. I love hearing the stories about those buried beneath the old stones. ❤
I liked it. A lil history lesson of sorts. I recall your Forgotten in Deaths as being mostly about more recent deaths, accidents and what have you. Providing material like this is a nice addition or change of pace.
Pericas was a restaurant up the street from this cemetery. I explored this place when I younger before it all got built up. Almost didn't recognize the place until I saw a certain grave.
I loved this cemetery tour! ❤ I think the QR codes are an awesome idea. I plan on doing one for mine. So, if my great grandchildren visit, they will know something about me. I just found out I have lung cancer. I've had my biopsy, my findings, and yesterday, I took my PET scan. I get those results tomorrow. I know it's Lymphoma, type B. It is the most common cancer and is treatable. 😂 Which I am glad that it is! I hope to be around to see my son's first baby born! ❤❤❤
I moved back to LA 7 months ago and sometimes if I wanna go somewhere quieter and have peace of mind, I go to Hollywood Forever Cemetery (I live about a mile away from there). I noticed in the oldest part of the cemetery ( you can tell it's the oldest because these ppl have been dead for over a hundred years), i noticed some of the grave markers are toppled over. Its a damn shame. I think the culprits are the cemetery workers doing some kind of landscaping using heavy machinery. But when they're done they don't even fix the markers. I don't know if it's because these people have been dead for decades and it's "oh well, who cares. No one visits them anyway". Its pretty sad. If only I was a He-Man I would fix the markers myself. But they weigh at least a ton.
@Ooops.x well maybe that's the case. But the main point of my pretty long comment was the condition of some parts of the cemetery. Not "reasons why I moved back to LA". Totally irrelevant. Not trying to be an a-hole here, sorry. Then again it might be too late. I guess I am. I'm focused on the deceased whom I feel are being disrespected.
I love these cemetery walks the history is so interesting!Stay cool, your last video you said your van was fixed, this one you said it was still in shop, hope it’s fixed right, you do a lot of driving, can’t take a chance on your transportation!
Lamont, Thank you for making sure these people are not forgotten. Old cemetaries are truly full of so much history. I really enjoy your narration & can tell you put in a lot of research. I hope you make more videos of older cemetaries.
Hi Lamont. Thank You. I have been to New places and learned things along the way. 😊 I saw a Juggernaut video, 3 maybe. Cleaned up neglected cemeteries. Noticed this neglect or forgotten is not uncommon. Seen this in Chris' videos and a couple other. Cleaning up good but feels half done. What about the stones and people uncovered? Do you think that would be a good collab? I understand some cases are not to be touched. Other cases uncover and reveal. It would be more work I suppose but It makes sense. Anyway I'm going on! 🙂✌️
I'm a NYC boy and visited Texas for 7 months while in the military. The people there were wonderful to us.
I was born in Fort Worth. My parents are buried in Colleyville, along with all my grandparents. Thank you, Lamont, for the wonderful job of bringing history back to life

Mine too 🙏
From dirt we were formed to dirt we will return..thanks Lamont 😊🙏
that's why I don't dust it could be Grandma.
Stop.😂😂😂😂@@ponylovermadden4560
Not really, most cemeteries place coffins in concrete vaults. will never touch dirt again.
And eventually all you need is 2x6' and 6' deep
Unless we come from elsewhere 😮

Thank you for the history lessons your videos provide. Without you, some of these folks would be totally forgotten.

@@ventura80503 because I wanted to. What does that got to do with my comment?
