Interesting! I think I want to read that book. It definitely would tie in with political economy, at least a little. On another subject: How is it that the shelves behind you show empty spaces and are not all filled up with books? Can you share your secret method of moderation in library acquisition??
@@davidtownsend8875 They used to be full before I moved (that was about 2 years ago). I purged much of my collection then but am rebuilding it to focus on titles like the kind I talk about here.
It was amazing to see this video come up today. I have just been thinking about Eric Hoffer. I was introduced to his work by my Mom way back in the1970s. She was an English and Social Studies teacher and brought one of his books home for me to read. I read several of his books back then and have been thinking I should reread them now. Hoffer was an amazing person-born to German immigrants in New York, spoke both English and German, lost his sight for years, then regained it. He spend most of his life working blue collar jobs and reading and writing in his spare time. You can see a nice tribute to Hoffer by Gerald Fishkin here on RUclips.
