Speed Queen Off Balance Load Test

I was washing a pillow, and wanted to see how well a Speed Queen washer handled the out of balance load. Note that this is a severe case and is extremely unlikely to occur ever. Its unfortunate that I did not film the first spin cycle as the machine albeit severely off balance, handled the out of balance load perfectly! The final spin as you can see required some intervention, I apologize for the shallow camera angles as I could not get the tripod to stand up right :(

Our apartment came with a washer that does this exact motion and it gets louder by the last cycle smh it gets quite annoying to hear

If this has balance sensors that would be interesting. I know the old Whirlpool belt drives had them that stops the washer when off balance. But I don’t know about Speed Queen.

The tub suspension is out of wack. It should be in the middle. Suspension spring may be broke on the left or the machine is not level.

That's the first thing I noticed as well, especially since one of the springs just broke on my Speed Queen and the tub looked just like that. The fact that the washer works at all shows the quality of the workmanship, but it's not good to continue using it like that.

My speed queen top loaded is always out of balance - I think the skate plate (sp?) is worn due to over loading the machine a few times. looking for parts now.
