    You look gorgeous in red. Attracting men is easy, getting the right man is soo hard. Red is appealing, but sometimes for the wrong reason. Tricky business, isn't it.

    i saw an experiment some time ago on a tv show, where they had a couple of twin sisters, one with a red dress, and the other with blue and sent them to a bar. the one in red got chatted up almost immediately while the one in blue walked around and sat at the bar for a while until someone came up to her. next the girl in red was talking to a guy, she went to the bathroom and they changed dresses, so her twin went out the red dress and the guy the other one was talking to DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE! they had different earrings and i think their hair was done up differently as well. WHAT.

    • @ummarika923
      @ummarika923 6 лет назад +8

      It's actually quite common to miss this kind of "small changes" like hairdo and earrings when you are a) focused on something else (in this the color red) and b) not expecting that you should pay attention because seriously, who can expect that twins are going to the bathroom to change their dresses with each other? 😆
      But yeah, definitely interesting and it seems that the color indeed makes a difference.

    • @mmmmmmolly
      @mmmmmmolly 6 лет назад +4

      @@ummarika923 yes, i agree nobody would expect that :)) but their faces weren't exactly identical if you took a closer look, and the guy was looking at her ad talking to her for i think 30-40 minutes before the switch i still found it a bit shocking but funny nonetheless.

      Yeah sad. Clothes blinds people. Same goes for us men. I've noticed that if i approach girls in my sweaty sports clothes in the gym they mostly will reject me. If i do the same in a nice suit jacket or pea coat in the mall they suddenly gave me their number and act like i deserve more respect, taking me more serious etc. but my personality, status or biology didn't change because of the clothes changes...🙄 people are so superficial these days. Making me sick.

    It would be interesting to know if men are actually more attracted to women who wear red or if they are just more likely to be conscious of their existence because red is a signal color and doesn't blend in like black or blue. Maybe you're perceived as part of the background as long as you wear more neutral colors, but red makes you stand out as an individual person.
    (Not that the exact reason matters as long as it works. I would just love to know the psychology behind it.)

    • @ClayMey
      @ClayMey Год назад +1

      I think it's a combination of both... first, as you said, red truly stands out. It's a color that doesn't go unnoticed. But then, there is the attraction factor. Like yes, you got my attention, but do I like you? Sometimes the answer is no, not my type. The truly interesting experiment would be the same exact person wearing red or neutral color and then checking how much attention and compliment she gets from strangers in one color or the other. That would be fascinating to see :)

    I worked for Target and if you notice Red is a part of the ‘uniform’ so it makes sense that it would attract ANY person’s attention.

    I knew about this and I experimented with my husband... without saying anything I started using more red... like a red dress, a coat... well well, it is actually true. He is all eyes for me when I wear it. When I told him about the experiment he thought about it and yes, he agreed that red is a very attractive color, he doesn't even know why :)

    My husbands favorite color, AND favorite color to wear, is red + his favorite color on me is red too. I've read that most men's favorite color is red while most women's favorite color is either pink or blue - could also be what ties into the attraction!

    About red: Thinking about it, the times that I have worn red, were really the times I had the most compliments. Loud ones too. Ha ha!
    Also I remember my ex he made me throw away my favourite leather pants (red ones) also my best looking boots (also red) because those two items were the only two items that he really did not like me to wear. I understand why now. :-D I should have chucked him out instead, long way before.

    What about us that don't think we look good in red? I mean I guess there's warm red and cool red to suit each and everyone's preference, but I've never been able to spot the difference in red. I'm a cool toned person so I kind of gravitate towards blue. Damn.

    I’ve never really had anyone notice me in red. Before I was married, I had a pair of purple glasses, and they got all kinds of attention. 🤷‍♀️ And I have a blue, red and yellow dress that people will stop me just to say how nice I look. I think it’s more about what flatters you the most.

    In fact, red does attract men but this colour is too aggressive if you want them to talk to you. If you do want to build something with someone you should wear pastel colour because it's clear and bright but not aggressive. You wear red you will catch their attention but they will be scared.

      It would depend on the form of color blindness and what spectrum of colors he is capable of perceiving. However, red-green color blindness (deuteranomaly, protanomaly, protanopia and deuteranopia) is the most common form so it is likely that reds are more muted/on the green spectrum and therefore significantly less eye-catching. Interesting thought.
