    When she did the body check videos. She didn’t realize initially that it was harmful to others with ED’s of all sorts. She also realized it was harmful to her mental health.
    So she doesn’t do that anymore. But she encourages people to keep moving and not feel bad about their bodies because our weights and appearance changes daily if not multiple times through the day

    Straight up one of the best videos I've seen from you, referencing how dieting/eating extremely healthy can literally dominate your outlook and how that is dysfunctional. Thank you for spreading the good word. I have recently started adding ghee or grass-fed butter and some pink salt to my al-dente steamed veggies and it has made a massive difference in my satiation and mental outlook.I realized prior to having healthy fat with my meals, I was constantly under eating and therefore obsessed with eating, even though it was always healthy.
    Cheers

    For the side by side comparison and her talking about not working out for aesthetics, she used to have an eating disorder, she didn’t eat almost at all, and she was very skinny and lost her period, so she started eating more and changed her priority from weight loss to being healthy, she wanted to get stronger healthier, happier, so she went from skinny and having an eating disorder to fit and happy

I'm currently taking a break, as I noticed my looks have such an impact on my performance in reels & tiktoks, even if they aren't supposed to be makeup related. I find that heavily irritating, because that's not who I wanna be, but I catch myself subconsciously taking that into consideration.

    Love the video! I like Ana’s diet and her mindset.
    Personally, I prefer low-fat yogurt, it has more protein and less calories. I like to add my own sources of healthy fat, like stir in some peanut butter or flaxseed oil or serve it with nuts and seeds.
    A fun video idea I have: Why not look at some diets from the past? Like what’s the typical diet of the 50s, 60s, …? And what kind of fat loss diets or claims around certain foods were there?
    Also, it would be cool to see a video about historical figures diets, some women in the past followed really strange diets to stay lean or “detox”.

    Last 4 years due to a brain injury and isolation cause me to develop some serious anxiety and emotional issues. My sleep was all over the place and the emotional eating probably had me gaining around 50lbs. I also found if I didn’t eat a bunch before bed, that I wouldn’t be able to get to sleep due to anxiety. I started watching your videos a little while ago and started making a few small changes. I have also recently started medication and I’m noticing I don’t feel hungry all the time in the day anymore nor am I needing food to help me sleep. I think your videos have also started to help me see food differently and in a more positive light rather than the stuff to avoid and stuff I should have that doesn’t always taste that great. Hi Abbey, I love your videos. I didn’t know about Grow with Annanas until now! I was curious about something you mentioned in your video. You said that exercise is a poor way to lose weight. What is the solution then? I understand increasing your activity significantly allows for an easier time achieving a caloric deficit and that’s what causes weight loss (in general) but if it’s a poor way to do so then what is better? Combining a moderate caloric deficit with continued exercise has always been my understanding for achieving sustainable weight loss.

Like for example eat mostly calorie dense processed foods and go over your tdee and then "punish" yourself with hours of cardio to make up for it. What you described is perfectly fine, my deficit is also a combination of decreasing calorie intake a little and doing more steps :)

It's seriously the best cottage cheese I've ever tried. I personally don't like plain cottage cheese. Mix that with the yogurt. Add a scoop of pb, cinnamon and I add sliced almonds and a big handful of GoLean granola cereal, pb flavor. If you love those flavors, it's seriously so delicious!! Very satiating too !

    Dairy question: does the full fat dairy thing include milk? How does that pair with the whole don't drink your calories for weight loss? Does that apply to milk? Love a classic what I eat in a day vid!

    • @michelleheadley2911
      @michelleheadley2911 11 месяцев назад

      A glass of whole milk and an apple or some berries. Also. When we’re told “don’t drink your calories” usually means things like soda and juices. They’re loaded with a lot of sugar and can mess up the digestive system depending on the person.
      But they are very high in calories and easy to consume a lot of. That’s why we’ve been told that phrase. But having a glass of whole milk and a bowl of fresh berries or chia seeds with whole milk and fruit etc to make a chia pudding. It’s perfectly fine.
      Whole milk contains generally: vitamin d, calcium, a healthy amount of phosphorus, fat, protein, some natural sugars and carbs. Roughly about 8g of protein.
      Could have it in your coffee in the morning along with a hot cereal like oatmeal or farina. Etc.
      Eating foods that are not considered “low fat” can actually satiate you more. In return you may even eat less over all.
      Hope this helps

      Agree, there are so many sources of healthy fat, like nuts, nut butter, avocados, or extra virgin olive oil that I all love to eat, so getting fat from yogurt is not necessary - and would usually be too much for my personal diet, as I’m trying not to eat much more fat than recommended and more protein instead.
      And my main reason is less calories and more protein, it’s just an easy way to get in protein and I can eat more of it than of full-fat yogurt. Sometimes I mix in peanut butter or a bit of flax seed oil and honey, I prefer that to buying yogurt with fat if I want more fat in my yogurt.

    Idk I might be the only one, but every time I come across one of Anna's videos, it doesn't seem very genuine. Her 'enjoying' the food always looks exaggerated and she kinda nibbles at it and angles her camera in a way to make herself look smaller as well as just posing awkwardly straight in order for her stomach to look as flat as possible. I don't mean this as a way to insult her, just my observations... I usually agree with everything Abbey says and this is the first time where I find myself not so convinced that a person hasn't fallen victim to diet culture. Just my view though!

    • @jaybeebabee
      @jaybeebabee 7 месяцев назад +2

      I totally agree with you. There is just something odd about Anna, it’s the way she poses, fake-smiles, the constant crying on whatever, the overacting way of preparing meals or eating them. Nobody makes these facial expressions when cooking or eating. And I feel that she doesn’t eat the whole plate or bowl she is showing in her videos. In one video where she eats a Greek yoghurt bowl with fruits in front of her monitor as an n office lunch thing, you can even see she takes in the spoonful, but then excerpts the spoon and there is still food on it. So she didn’t even eat it. But makes it look like she did. This comes across dishonest. And I somehow don’t like her look. I like the gym clothes and colors, but there is something with her whole head that makes me uncomfortable to watch. Maybe it’s the face proportions or the hair, it’s just odd.

    So I don't follow her but a few of her short have been recommended to me and I have to say for some reason I find her super uncomfortable to watch. Sometimes she looks like she is crying while eating and a few of her portions seem so incredibly small... I normally don't get triggered by things like even though I am overweight trying to learn how to eat better and such, but her videos started to trigger me. Now I just don't like to watch her Shorts and skip everytime. I wonder if it's just one of these things like not everyone can like everyone but it is strange that someone can cause such discomfort and comfort for others at the same time. Makes me wonder what's the problem for me😅

      OMG ME TOO!! I think it’s because in recovery we go through eating lots of food people call “junk”, which she never really consumes on video, only sophisticated meals that are still under “healthy eating” despite not cutting out food groups. it sort of makes me feel bad that my snacks aren’t as “healthy” as hers, and that her sugar cravings are so minuscule compared to mine. even the videos that show she doesn’t always consume “clean foods”, it kind of looks like it’s a really special occasion or a cheat almost?
      ALSO all of her portioned out crackers and such can make it look like she counted every single one and calculated it? this probably says more about us than her, but i also feel the same way you do, so i just dumped why we might feel this way😅

      I totally relate to this and have a fascination/repulsion relationship with Anna’s content.
      My spidey sense picks up a lot of perfectionism and self-criticism emanating from her that reminds me of the ways important women in my life have hurt themselves and lashed out at others for “feeling fat.”
      The reactions of “wow, that meal looks so good” in her comments remind me of my own orthorexia, and how I would use colour and presentation as a way to hide disordered eating.
      You’re not alone in feeling this way, and I think your intuition contains important info. ❤

      I totally agree and also I don’t watch her because she gives me very anxious and perfectionist vibes and it makes me very tense. But it’s not against her because usually I don’t like all the « my life is perfect, I wake up at 4, work out every day for 2 hours, journal every day and if I eat chocolate it’s 90% and one square ». They stress me out and I always have to remember that they’re human too and social media is fake. It’s okay to chill and be an imperfect human 💕

      I feel the same. It’s her artificial smile and look, I think it’s the acting on purpose for a video vibe that puts me off, too. Nobody makes these facial expressions when cooking or eating a meal. It’s just all made for clickable video content. And all these inserted crying parts are a bit ridiculous, to be honest.

    Hey Abbey, thank you for this video:) I just have a question, don’t you find it strange that she always measures her olive oil intake with a teaspoon? Isn’t that a bit disordered?

    • @michelleheadley2911
      @michelleheadley2911 11 месяцев назад +1

      Personally it’s not strange. We know that a high quality olive oil is full of omega 3’s and healthy fat. Can be good for the cardiovascular system. That being said, 1T of olive oil is 1 serving and contains roughly 14g of fat. She’s likely measuring out the 1 tsp to make sure she gets enough in per serving. If I’m cooking something I’ll divide the oil servings by however many servings the meal has.
      But if the meal is serving 4. That would be equivalent of 1/4 cup of oil. That’s actually a lot. So she might be doing it by the teaspoon instead.
      Another possibility is that when warming food up again she uses oil. So then she adds to it. And it could be too much. Overwhelming the flavor.
      A lot of recipes actually will say 1tsp etc of oil.
      Also. She is recovering from an eating disorder. So it could be.
      Hope this helps b

As a type 1 diabetic i always need most of my insulin for breakfast! Which is normal ... I will always be concious with carbs in the morning - like my fellow type 1s ...

    I have to say I like the body checks because it motivates me to work out and eat healthy. Anna is beautiful and just as worthy of showing off her body as someone who is less fit than her who would be celebrated in the same instance. Body positivity is for everyone, and no one has the right to comment on who should and shouldn't show be visible and proud of how they look.

I know humans have drank animals milks for centuries lol but it just sounds counter intuitive and I know there’s some controversy about the safety of it out there. Thankuuu!
