  • Development of the Typhoon began in 1986, with the establishment of the Eurofighter consortium that involved the three countries-Germany, Italy, and the UK-that had worked to develop the Panavia Tornado. Those nations were later joined by Spain, while France had also been an early partner in the European Fighter Aircraft (EFA) before Paris elected to pursue a program that resulted in the development of the Dassault Rafale.

    Amazing how the Rafale capable of carrying the homemade nuclear bomb, designed and produced by a single nation is the best omni-role aircraft in the world!

      @@Paul-fp4ux no I’m not but the only argument you made is the rafale being able to deploy nukes made by its own country guess what the tornado can do the same also the b29

    Germany and Spain will get the AESA Radar 1 that is basically a CAPTOR -M with a he SESA front end. The UK and Italy rejected Radar 1 as not being good enough and created Radar 2 that is a new radar with a new AESA front end and electronics.

      No. ECRS Mk1 as ordered for German and Spanish Eurofighters is an ECRS Mk0 (Captor-E) with new and improved TRMs offering greater capabilities. It’s not entirely clear whether those are made using GaA or GaN, although the manufacturer already has substantial experience building AESA radars using GaN TRMs (i.e. TRML-4D). If GaN is used, it’s performance should be comparable to an AN/APG-85 as planned for the F-35 Block 4, however with a higher +/- 90-100° FOV. (For reference ECRS Mk0 has 1626 TRMs, AN/APG-81 has 1676)

    No doubt! The best multirole Fighter jet in the world and one of the best ever design everything about this jet is well design the weapons capability are amazing, alot of space for weapons, long range, amazing velocity, and the only thing is to further implement a conformal fuel tanks, implement the Airbus study to increase performance with almost small change in wing and if countries want a 20% trust increase and vectoring trust nozzles they already was design for a demonstracion, Amazing machine for me is the best ever, to bad dont have the deserved value

      Assuming 1-on-1 with similar pilot skill the Eurofighter will likely win both in BVR and WVR. Real life shifts the balance further in the Eurofighters favor.

    Dude... KN is "NOT" = Knots! 🤣
    It stands for Kilo Newton, which is a measure units for Force/thrust!
    A radar capability is determined in real life performances: it is not a given that a new technology brings better performances then an older, proven one, and you don't spend millions upgrading something good to something very marginally better. The retirement of the Tornado is what pushed Europe into upgrading the Captor M, not its lack of AA performances.
    The Rafàle (not the "Rafaeli", whatever the F that is) is a multi role aircraft, built for Carrier landing, and Germany did not wanted to spend for that, (Cheapo Merkel) so the two planes ended competing and stealing each other market instead of bringing single alternative to US and Russian competitors, bringing down the price by building large numbers.
    Both aircrafts are good enough and very similar in thrust to weight and capabilities.
    Rafàle is getting better sales abroad because France is not picky, while Germany is a pain in the ass when it comes to weapon sales (see the Saudi contract during the Houti war).
    In the meantime, the F35A became available and it is much more suited to take the role of the Tornado then the Typhoon, due to its stealth ability. France does not have the problem as it only buys national planes anyway. The F35 also is already green lighted fir use of USA nuclear weapons, while the Typhoon is not. This is also why Rafàle didn't sold in EU, except for Greece and Croatia.
    Doghfight is obsolete: if you get there you did something very wrong with offboresight IR missile aiming, 60Gs on average for any missile and extreme decoy resistence: this is why the USA went with the F15X missile truck instead if developing something better then the F22 which, operationally wise, was a disaster program.

    The funniest thing about this video is they talk about Europe as if Russia is not in Europe and is some far away land. Fact is even AL-31FM1 has a thrust of 132kn. Far above EJ200. They should be thankful to Russia they never tried to make a medium sized aircraft and threw 2 AL-31FM1's in it.

    • @HayMaker-tv2dm

      Its ridicolous! Rússia is part of Europe and a huge part, actually Europe was better of with a security pact with Rússia and all European nations, like Turkey, Rússia, and all countries and jointly develop and research of military industrial complex projects and create institutes for military science and thecnology aiding the huge industrial military complex capacity, Europe dont need to relly on nobody, should be the biggest military power period, but weak politicians in Europe cannot talk with each other countries and being honest we Europe are a power and dont need nobody to defend us

    • @RichelieuUnlimited
      @RichelieuUnlimited 26 дней назад +1

      The AL-31 is substantially larger (67% larger frontal area) and heavier (50% heavier) than the EJ200. The AL-31FM1 has only 46% higher thrust (wet) than the EJ200 in peacetime setting (war setting 39%, emergency 29%), and worse dry-to-wet performance. That’s assuming Russian published data is accurate to begin with and ignoring durability. Thus the EJ200 is the superior engine.

    • @RichelieuUnlimited
      @RichelieuUnlimited 26 дней назад

      Putting twin AL-31FM1s into a medium sized aircraft also wouldn’t work, as the aircraft also has to carry fuel, ordinance and avionics and still has to remain agile, so either the engines have to be scaled down or the aircraft scaled up. The former *results in an overproportional reduction in thrust, the latter in the aircraft no longer being medium sized.

      @@chadbernard2641 you definitly dont now what are you talking the EJ200 is just 950kg and a the trust that this engine produces its amazing. Its not only raw power you have to get the right balance of power, weight, eficiente, high and low altitude performance and the EJ 200 is one of the best, you think that they cannot have a more powerful engine you are delusional, that engine its just the right balance for the Thyphoon and other similar jets, and i bet that the russian specs for the engine in question is not fully correct i think is even more heavy and thirsty than they say
