@@edgarlee2802 All nine series are a masterclass in comedy, but if Megan does do a reaction to Steptoe, as a newbie, she's probably best of starting at the last two series, as they are in colour, until she's hooked!. Though I do believe some of the B&W have been converted to colour.
Cannibalism. The butcher's 'special' is human flesh. They're cannibals. BTW, the guy in the roudabout zoo is Don Estelle. Played Lofty in the legendary 1970's comedy (and to modern eyes and ears about as un PC as you can get), It Ain't Half Hot Mum (set in India during the last days of the British Raj). He's also got quite a good singing voice and had a number 1 single in the 70's, off the back of the show. A cover of, Whispering Grass.
When you paused it during the pee scene, it reminded me that we couldn't do that at the time, there was no time to digest it comfortably, you just had those images in your head that you had to try to describe at school the next day, to some weird looks
I grew up in a village and I said Ply Mouth in assembly at school and everyone laughed at me..... I still remember that moment to this day. I still mispronounce names of places even being a native, but I grew up thinking our village was the whole world lol. Such a weird village because it was big enough to have it's own schools and there were the same group of us kids all growing up together. Then you get to 17 and everyone starts driving and you realise we aren't top dog..... But I miss those times, so insulated and nice and there was no crime or any issues. The other weird thing is the village was all white and so going out from it for the first time was a shock, we only had one black person in the school.
I can’t remember in which episode it appears, but ‘Nude Day’ at breakfast is coming for Benjamin. Just another idiosyncrasy of his strange aunt and uncle. With regards to the Butcher’s special’ meat, supplied to his small, selective list of discerning customers. I don’t think its actual consistency was ever revealed in the Series. However, in keeping with the imaginatively dark boundaries of the show. I always thought, with its secretive distribution, when a supply came in. Might have been intended, to imply a sense of cannibalism, making it ‘so wrong, but irresistible! Others, of course, may have there own thoughts on the subject!’
Good morning Megan, how are you? Welcome back home 🏡 to London, England 🏴 here! I hope you enjoyed your Morocco vacation time! I love your reactions towards these hilarious 😂 British comedies here in the UK 🇬🇧
@@MeganRuth Yep, somehow they even managed to weirdly/darkly make s**cide funny (the helpline one). As for the meat that you asked about, yes there is a story behind it that progresses. And Chubby Brown makes an appearance because the town/village is named after him (his real name). Put it this way, it's going to get alot more weird but still funny. I can't remember if you've reacted to Chubby or not, but have a watch of his stand-up if you haven't. They are big fans of his, I think they said this on a documentary or something. Psychoville is good if you haven't seen it. I think iPlayer might have it, I wouldn't hold my breath though with how the BBC has gone downhill. Look for a list for BBC3 sitcoms etc programmes and don't really adventure after 2016, things started to go downhill with the BBC. Personal suggestions that I really liked were Two Pints, Ideal, Coming of Age, and there must be more that I can't remember.
this show is like an away day fixture in Huddersfield.

Please react to Steptoe and Son, Comedy at its best❤️🔥
I agree. The pilot episode (The Offer) is a masterpiece of comedy and tragedy. I think Only Fools and Horses came close to it in some later episodes.

The too old bit at the end hit me, I'm just in my 40s now and I was told I'm too old to invest in for a job :/

This is the show my ex got me to watch in 2004, I realise then she had issues.... lol.

React to "Game on" - 90's british comedy staring Ben Chaplin. No one else has reacted to it!
