Still Game is a classic, a great piece of comedy and drama...highlights the importance of having a community around you. My favourite episode (Hyper) is coming up.....and I challenge you not to shed a tear when you view the last episode.....incredible way to finish.
Yeah, our lemonade is clear, like Sprite. We have the cloudy one but we literally call that cloudy lemonade. The clear one is basically just used as a mixer or to make other drinks (blackcurrant, orange etc) fizzy
Perfect reaction as always! And don’t worry about not liking Hard nuts you’re not gonna like them all, plus you always give your full honest reaction which is perfect! 🎉❤
Dorothy Paul is playing Francis sister, shes a great actress/comedian and singer. Here in scotland she was in a screenplay called "the Steamie" its a tradition to watch at hogmany.
I remember watching The Steamie at Hogmanay with my Mum when I was a kid back in the 80’s. It kind of marked the lull between the twin storms of cleaning and celebrating.
I watched "The Steamy" via the STV Player. Not usually interested in musicals, etc. But did watch the performance on there and I found it really entertaining.
Cheers for doing this :) It's great that they brought Winston back the show wouldn't be the same without him The bus station scenes at finport were filmed in Saltcoats The chippy & arcade place scene i'm not sure The b&b, the seaside bench and the pub were all filmed in Largs 20:00 My grandparents had one of those bars
It must be the way the episodes are listed but you've jumped to the last ep of season 6. Squirrel did exactly the same thing if i recall correctly. You should be watching 'The Party' which is the actual 7th ep of season 5.
On Netflix (at least in the UK) the only Christmas or New Year Special that’s on there is Hootenanny…and it’s a bit of a confuser/spoiler, as they have it at the start of the series instead of the end. If it’s the same in the US, that’s likely why EB hasn’t watched any of the ones that he should have so far.

First off Adulting t-shirt haha class 👍 ... Hootenanny is actually end of series 6 after Christmas special Plum Number which is why Tam in pub with his baby and Isa behind post office counter in shop (won't spoil season by explaining further) episode 7 of series 5 is called The Party. Great vids all the same still thoroughly enjoyed watching with ya. Just giving you the heads up 👍

So many of the lines must go right over your head dude, like "it's like the but'n'ben oot the bloody Broons" at 51:44. In Scotland a but'n'ben is basically a 2 room cottage, the but is the outer room, usually the kitchen/scullery and the ben the inner room a sort of living room, probably with a recess for the bed. My granny used to say, if she was explaining where an item was "ben ther" meaning it was through in the bedroom. The Broons is a cartoon strip (along with Oor Wullie) that appear in a newspaper the Sunday Post, and each year there will be a Broons or Oor Wulie book that people still love to get at Christmas, especially the Scottish diaspora in Australia, NZ, Canada, USA etc. This is the fast disappearing language of Scotland as sadly each generation becomes more and more anglicised.
The fictional town of Finport was filmed in three different locations, two are Ardrossan and Saltcoats, and I can’t remember what the third one is. I don’t think ‘seasonal towns’ are really a thing in Britain, or if they are, then maybe they are limited to large towns in England, as I’ve lived in many small towns in Scotland and never experienced any seasonal difference in the population or open stores. The chip shop is called the Melbourne and is located in Saltcoats, and Still Game had originally planned to film a scene inside, but a couple of months before filming the shop closed for renovations, and from what I vaguely recall, their were complications and it ended up being closed for about six months.
There are certainly seasonal towns in Cornwall, though they don’t close up completely. Some shops (that are aimed purely at tourists) may close for the winter but most will just close a few hours earlier than they do in the summer. But I think you’re right in regards to it not being a thing in Scotland. I grew up just along the coast from Largs and I certainly don’t remember anywhere near there being seasonal.
The scenes where Jack and Victor catch up with Winston while sitting on the bench and when they’re paddling in the water (the River Clyde) are filming Largs which is just a few towns along the Clyde Coast from where I grew up. We used to get taken there to go swimming as kids in the winter (the town I grew up in only has an outdoor pool) and to go to the beach, the arcade and Nardini’s Ice-Cream Parlour in the summer. One of my brothers actually got married in Largs and we often take my Dad there for the afternoon when we go to visit him. It was also the site of a battle between the Scots and the Vikings and they used to (and still might, I can’t be sure as I no longer live in the area) have a long boat ceremony every year.
@TheEclecticBeard Just to let you know there are 3 more special episodes called Cold Turkey,.The Party and Plum number. Just incase you didn't know about them. 2 of them are Christmas specials and the other one is new year special 👍 if you have trouble finding them the 3 of them are on RUclips. Also if you're confused about the second episode in this video where Tam has a son that episode is part of season 6 after a episode called "one in one out"
Its an old fashioned analogue tv which you had to tune into a signal. Vast parts of the highlands and islands wouldn’t receive a terrestrial signal (mountains etc in the way)

"Lemonade" in this context is indeed "sprite" - or the diet version of this. My favorite is made by Sainsburys - Pink Lemonade. Fizzy sprite type lemonade with raspberry flavoring (what gives it the pink coloring).
I love how you felt the need to defend your opinion 😂 In your defence this is about where you'll start to notice a decline, they weren't getting along off camera and it was more about milking the cash cow.
Cinderella Rockefella was the song played in Tam's head whenever Molly showed how tight fisted she was. It's obviously been replaced in the episode here because of copyright.
That’s strange, they changed the song, every time tam fantasises about molly,,, I’m pretty sure the song usually goes like… “you’re the lady, youre the lady heee”?
There appears to be what i guess are copyright issues when watching outwith uk netflix..appears to happen with other songs ie those featured in wireless/hatch
Hi you should probably try to squeeze in the New Year/Hogmanay episode called The Party now if you want to do them in order. Because watching Hootenanny I can see that The Party episode is older because they made a reference to it in Hootenanny. And the Party episode is really fun.
A great treat always to see this series. A syndicated comic strip played out for real, but as you say its humanity carries it along. I'm with you on the weak episode, and sometimes the characters feel too broad even for a comic strip, but usually it's a pleasure to join you in watching this.
I'm glad you liked freeport episode I didn't know where it was going @first with you mentioning horror show instead of comedy but tame was in his element with the tight wad sister in law.the music here was your my lady rocka fella but with copyright it was different music that wasn't quite the same.i did noticed everytime the music played you paused the clip I'll put that down to coincidence.
the song that plays when Tam looks at Molly should be a wee jingle that goes "You're the lady, you're the lady that I love"., Netflix have changed the music x

Again and again E.B ruins my retirement enjoyment plan. I promised myself to save watching Still game until later life as I doubt anything will be funny by then and will need all the cheering up I can get as I lose sight of my genitals and the will to live. But watching E.B enjoy our British comedy knowing he truly understands our humour and way of life just makes watching him so bloody addictive.
Oooh, I don't think I could've waited until retirement to watch this. I made the mistake of not watching this when it first appeared on BBC2 in the beginning with the thinking of "It'll not be a patch on Rab C. Nesbitt." How wrong I was. 👍🫣
Sadly, the order is incorrect, youv missed alot and I presume you sat there a tad confused at Tam's Newborn baby in the clansman😂😂 in the other hand, when Winston offers tam a travel sweet when they are heading off on there journey to tinahoulish (isla Craig) in Hootenanay, I live no more than 2 minutes walk from that exact spot, pass it every day🤜🤛
I'm with you, I believe that when someone says have a drink with me, usually means on them. I would have told him to put it back in the bottle! 24:11 Is the witty payback for the above! 🤣
How tf have Netflix ballsed up the the sequencing of the episodes!! EB has missed the Hogmanay special, all of season 6 and the Christmas special….you can see in his face when he see’s tam has a kid he’s like wtf 😂…..just Wikipedia still game for the proper order of the episodes EB.
Hootenanny is the only one of the specials that’s on Netflix and for some reason they have it at the start of the series instead of the end…and it’s annoying AF.
re: lemonade We have proper lemonade, just brands like Sprite / 7up are labelled as lemonade as well in our stores. It can get confusing, but the colour should give it away.
Global copyright is a bugger, it would have been more likely the BBC rather than Netflix that would've changed the music in the episodes. One of the reasons why I'll never be able to buy one of my favourite U.S. TV dramas "Cold Case" was because of all the copyrighted music in every episode, it would've cost CBS a fortune, they wouldn't have made any money at all on selling DVD's, they would lose money on each boxset sold.
Next season is the last of the good ones which is one of my favourites. I'm hoping after you've done s6 you'll do the special episodes like plumb number honestly you'll piss yourself laughing at it was actually hoping you'd show at Christmas as it's a Xmas episode.
Also the lemonade thing, I seen there are many “health” reasons are to why it’s different but it all boils down to it’s cheaper to make it our way with more profit 😂 so as many others have said in the comments.. it’s just a mixer 😅 god forbid you use an actual lemon 😭😂
It's so interesting how different the music can be in these episodes you're watching compared to the original. There must be some copyright/licencing issues preventing them from being used. The original music that plays in episode 6 when Tam looks at Molly (and vice versa) is "Cinderella Rockefella" by Esther & Abi Ofarim - ruclips.net/video/BBjI1aC4yCM/видео.html Another one I noticed was the episode you watched when everyone thinks Jack and Victor are gay. When they're in the pub and Bobby puts the music on, it plays "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. This wasn't in the version you watched. The original theme tune (for all episodes of all series/seasons) was also changed for the DVD / Netflix releases (the one you're hearing here). The original theme is an experpt from "Cuban Boy" by Frank Chacksfield & His Orchestra - ruclips.net/video/Q3Pu9BdIQCQ/видео.html There's probably more. Anyone notice any others?
You get Cloudy Lemonade and Lemonade that looks like Sprite. In some parts of Scotland all fizzy juice "pop, soda" whatever is called Lemonade. So you end up with things like Cherry flavoured Lemonade 😂
You'll also get fruit flavour soft drinks from Barrs who make Irn Bru and they will all depending on what fruit is in them be labelled ade. So you have lemonade, Cherryade, Orangeade and Limeade.
Brad and lucy on RUclips have the jim Davidson rude pantomime with Charlie drake .i remember you wanted to watch the whole show ages ago . Keep your videos coming fella .
Say Mr Beard, good watching still game with you and fantastic that you get the Glasgow humour...just a wee heads up, you missed an episode on series 5, Tam n Francis before the birth...Good episode lol...plus there's a few xmas specials to watch, hootenanny was one of em...but the one in the lift? Priceless....pps if you're really brave and up for a challenge, you could try Glasgows finest drunken philosopher Rab c Nesbitt...and you'll see Glasgow before it went liberal crazy...pps...if you like a drama, there's the classic 'Just a boys game' with the great singer frankie Miller and you'll see Clydebank in the 70s when it had a shipping industry...👍😎
What’s up man Eamonn here from Ireland.🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️. These 2 episodes were great as always. I have looked at the show of still game from the very start till the hole show came to an end . I have seen every episode never missed one I even have all the shows of still game here at home. Every single one. My mother is Scottish and my father is Irish and it was my mother that got me into whatching still game. What an amazing show it is BUT there have been a few episodes were I didn’t think were that good but that can happen your not going to like every episode there’s always going to be a few that doesn’t work with you. Like I can pick one that I wasn’t into and it was called dail a bus. There’s just some episodes you’re not into and that’s ok.theres nothing wrong with that. The episode of hard nuts I thought was just ok. So what. Who gives a shit no big deal. You don’t half to like every episode that’s bullshit. But the show it’s self STILL GAME is Legend 👍👍👍👍😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥. I love the show. But you don’t have to like every episode. That’s fucking crap who ever thinks that. But the show is amazing the best show I have ever seen ever. Anyway you have a good day friend your friend Eamonn here from IRELAND 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️☘️✌️cheers man. 👍👍
Netflix have fucking done it again cute apart of Tam scene at the start and change the music where Tam fancies Francis sister each time the song should be.[ you're the lady you're the lady that I love you're the lady the lady who Rockefeller Rockefeller I'm the lady the lady who]
I hundred percent agree with you on hard nuts, think they wrote in to the train hung over but it get better then the last few seasons are different but still alot better than hard nuts.
Netflix (which I think is the source here) haven't got a clue and put several episodes in the wrong order. They've managed to put this one in the wrong series.
I agree that "hard nuts" was far from one of the best episodes, still watchable but not good compared to the rest. Also theres something strangely good about watching an American watching this for the first time i just dont know why 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The original music that plays in episode 6 when Tam looks at Molly (and vice versa) is "Cinderella Rockefella" by Esther & Abi Ofarim - ruclips.net/video/BBjI1aC4yCM/видео.html
Another one I noticed was the episode you watched when everyone thinks Jack and Victor are gay. When they're in the pub and Bobby puts the music on, it plays "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. This wasn't in the version you watched.
The original theme tune (for all episodes of all series/seasons) was also changed for the DVD / Netflix releases (the one you're hearing here). The original theme is an experpt from "Cuban Boy" by Frank Chacksfield & His Orchestra - ruclips.net/video/Q3Pu9BdIQCQ/видео.html
There's probably more. Anyone notice any others?
I think every song played in Wireless is the same
ALANS HAD A TRIM!!!!!
@@FeedbackPeteand of course Pineappleade.
@@lynnejamieson2063 Oh I forgot about that and yet it's one of my favourites. I actually had a can last night lol.
Schweppes lemonade bro. It’s absolutely horrific 😂
Fine and Dandy...the racehorse 'Captain Dandy'...clever!
Shouting n Bawling aboot toasties

my top three episodes are coming next season
Sprite is the branded lemonade, he has generic sugar free lemonade
The later seasons are good too. Although a lot of the regular characters start to dying which is a shame
Dorothy Paul is a very funny lady. She had a great one woman show.
8:34 Tam realising that he's married the wrong sister! 🤭
The original music for Tam love stare..... ruclips.net/video/BBjI1aC4yCM/видео.html

'Blow yer Wad'!
Yes man keep up good work
Winston moved to RobRoyston McVasey
Tighnahulish sounds a bit like kindahellish when Tam says it
excellent 💯💯💯
Netflix have fucking done it again cute apart of Tam scene at the start and change the music where Tam fancies Francis sister each time the song should be.[ you're the lady you're the lady that I love you're the lady the lady who Rockefeller Rockefeller I'm the lady the lady who]
I hundred percent agree with you on hard nuts, think they wrote in to the train hung over but it get better then the last few seasons are different but still alot better than hard nuts.
I love this one😂😂😂❤
I won't spoil it but, you'll be seeing someone famous in a still game episode at some point, a famous American talk show host 😮
You made me Google, I didn't know they was a talk show host
@@mlee6050 "they" was good too, well done for no spoiling it for beardy also 👍 I googled the season, quite a bit away still.
Brilliant watch along again beardy, thanks 👊
Any got any hints for me writing comments still a newbie to this
lord have mercy!!
Has an episode been missed? There should be one with tam and the baby.
Netflix (which I think is the source here) haven't got a clue and put several episodes in the wrong order. They've managed to put this one in the wrong series.
this is a in joke the place is findhorn
I agree that "hard nuts" was far from one of the best episodes, still watchable but not good compared to the rest. Also theres something strangely good about watching an American watching this for the first time i just dont know why 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why did they change the music when tom flirts with his wifes sister,in my dvd its yoldling music.
