    Great comparison! I wonder if the retros were designed to look slightly different on purpose or because they just couldn't get them any closer. I mix the two together as well. No shame in doing so. But the differences are pretty obvious at a glance. Also, I feel like the new MAttel ones like the Hart Foundation set have diald back the bulkiness.

    As all companies do they go cheaper with the product yet raise the price for more profit. Mattel Retro figures seem like a cheaper version of the WWF Hasbro's yet they are twice the price.

    The retro figs are cool but you just can't beat the originals in that style, it's the same with the retro gi Joe figs.

    i actually liked the Rock Rude and Flair Action because you actually seen wrestlers use that headlock punch in the ring especially Ric Flair

    I’ve filled my home office with 8 detolfs full of elites, never got into the retros or hasbros, but the more I see of them the more I wish I had more space for a whole cabinet dedicated to them

    Great comparison video! I love the Mattel Retro line, I am just missing a few, I hope they continue to release more Legends in this series. I would love to have a Razor Ramon, Doink and Bret Hart. That Kane is awesome, my favorite is the Wolfpac Sting!

    Great setup & collection chief. I started collecting & I like LJN 8" figures better than Galloob or Hasbro. Like the wrestling figures & artistry. Whomever who painted those figures were spot on & thanks for sharing your massive collection.

    Can’t forget the suplex action that Mr. Perfect had, among others. That was my favorite action from the Hasbros. And on a side note, I thought the Ric Flair fig was great. Most collectors hated it, but it was really cool. Great content, bud!

    • @FigHeel
      @FigHeel  2 года назад

      Agreed! In my mind I kinda lumped that in with the other arm action but you’re totally right it’s technically different!

    You really should get some of the custom 'Hasbro style' belts from Wrestling Figure Workshop. They really complete the collection. Heavyweight, IC, and tag belts are available in several different colours (white, blue, purple, and black heavyweight, black, yellow, blue, and white IC).

    I love the old fogs but i was never a fan of the play action figs I'd prefer more articulated or just not spring loaded I'd take the remco/he-man stlye 5 points of articulation even he-man had play action gimmicks that i wasn't crazy about either

    Mattel did pay homage to the Andre/Dusty action with the Kevin Owens figure! As a loose collector I'm somewhat glad they didn't bring the Bushwhacker design back, those figures cause nothing but trouble. You look at them wrong and they fall over.

    • @FigHeel
      @FigHeel  2 года назад +1

      You’re right! Totally forgot about the KO retros

    • @B.-T.
      @B.-T. Месяц назад

      I don't have KO but the Bray figure also reuses that gimmick, just... A lot less effectively. His torso barely even moves.
      Still nice to display him alongside his dad, though.

  • @4thecollectors

    Yes Mattel is back up to their old tricks with the retros but kids are not really getting into the retros so far I am all caught up with the box set they have another box set same battle features so far as chella I see quite a few complaints with them in the Facebook groups I decided not to collect the chella and the sailor zombie I have to draw the line somewhere mainly because I'm pro heman the heart foundation box set may not sell as fast I am shocked to see the first box set for such affordable price on the second hand market excellent content

    The two worst parts about the Mattel Retros is how boring the faces are, and how the bodies are too reused. Mankind is ridiculously swole. Dean Ambrose/John Moxley looks bored. The new "kickers" are so boringly posed. So few of the faces have the same cool expressiveness that the old Hasbros had. The old Taker still beats the new one in every respect.
    (Also for some reason Mattel decided not to sculpt anyone's nipples)
