I know today’s figures are MUCH more detailed, but to me these captured the characters so well. They were cartoony but got the character expressions so good.
Because these are toys to be played with as the figures today are for adult collectors that’s why they will never be as popular as these and other toys for our childhood
Because these are toys to be played with as the figures today are for adult collectors that’s why they will never be as popular as these and other toys for our childhood
Papa Shango, El Matador, Bezerker, Repo Man, AND Ric Flair were actually all out of the WWF by the time their figures came out. I don't remember finding any of those until fall or near christmas time of '93. In the height of the line it was always easy to get Hulk Hogans, Macho Mans, and Ultimate Warriors, but in 93 it was hard to find any Bret Harts or Undertakers, even though they had figures.
You act like it’s a bad thing but what if there was only one REY MYSTERIO figure and it was in an attire of his that you didn’t like or you wanted to recreate an iconic scene but the outfit was wrong
We never had this as they were too expensive for us back then. So what we would do is use some cheap He-Man & the Masters of the Universe action figures to play wrestling. We even made the ring ourselves.
Very creative! If you can't afford, make do with what you've got and your imagination is endless! 👍 We had these figures in the U.K. too in the 90's and they cost about £6.99 ($8) each new but we managed to find them second hand with a second hand ring so we got lucky. I probably had about 8 in total but now I see the value of them has gone up.
I didn't know they made these in the form of current wrestlers like "The New Day", and attitude era wrestlers like Kane. I remember the big rubber LJN figures as a kid, but the Hasbro figures are the one's I remember the most. I had the ring as well. I didn't have all the figures I wanted, but I remember putting He-Man, Ninja Turtles, and Ghost Busters in the ring against wrestlers.
These were really big back when i was in elementary school. That's when i started watching wrestling. My favourite was the Ultimate Warrior (with white trunks). Back in the day the toys were better and so was the wrestling. I miss that era.
@Shaun Isaacs They were better considering the technology they had back then... They were ahead of their time. I am not just talking about wrestling figures. I am an 80s and 90s kid and used to own a lot of toys. I have seen the toys they stock today and they don't even come close.

That was especially true around the end of '92 when they had Bret, Bulldog, Undertaker, and whatever from that wave. Never saw em again after the initial release. Everyone wanted the LOD figures but none of us could find em. Really great line of figures but a real pain to collect. Thanks for the video!
Damn. I had the LOD figures. I collected but was only like 4-5 years old. We lived in Rhode Island at the time and exactly as you said, figures were impossible to find later on.
Really enjoyed watching this video! I grew up playing with the LJN WWF figures so, by the time the Hasbro WWF figures were released, I wasn't playing with toys anymore so I never owned any of them... Until now! I found the 1st series of Hasbros and the standard ring on eBay, for a decent price, 'round 2 years ago and have purchased most of the series since then. I absolutely love these figures and look forward to completing the entire collection.
Titan Sports made the best WWF figures go look them up, what a Christmas that was for all the boys across the World that year. Kids today will never understand what toys and bikes meant to us, so glad i experienced that.
Love the video. I had almost the entire line...and I too sold them all. At the time I was moving into my first place and starting a new life. Now I have my regrets but they ended up with a collector who paid me top dollar. I have one single figure left, first series Ultimate Warrior.
I collected pretty much all of the figures up to series 8, still have them packed away safely in storage. At times I used to set up a video camera angled towards the ring to film the matches, I still have the footage! I even made an entrance curtain for the figures to come out of and 'walk' (aided by my hand) to the ring. I slightly hesitantly told a couple of mates at the time who weren't that into wrestling and once they saw the setup they couldn't wait to join in, LOL! It got them into following the WWF. My dad made me a slightly larger and stronger wrestling ring to the plastic one released, which was great for Battle Royal events! Those years were a great time for WWF fans, glad many of you also have fond memories!
I loved these when i was a kid. I only remember then for the first few years. I didn't realize they stuck around till 95. I never saw these toys anymore after 93.
I used to collect these as a child. Going to Toys R Us all excited and running to the back to see what figures they had. Great memories. Thanks for the video.
I had one of the King Of The Ring yellow rings, though I think it actually came out in 1993 and not '94. My mother ordered away for it, as I wanted a ring to go with my Hasbro Bret Hart and Roddy Piper figures, and I remember putting it together the day it arrived in the mail.
When i came back from school in 1990, i watched the Super Mario Super show everyday at TV.... and during the commercial breaks, i saw all of these commercials all the time. It's great to see it 30 years later. I still buy original WWF merchandise today in 2022.

This really brings back memories! I had the blue riing and the series 1 Hulk Hogan, macho man, Ultimate Warrior and the series 1 demolition figures. I also had The Rockers but I don't think I got any more after that.
Takes me back to my own action figure universe. Writing cards and putting together dream matches. I had most of the Hasbro figures up until that final series. Broke so many of them and the wrestling rings. WCW figures at the time had the edge because you couldn't break them. It was tough to get good matches out of some because of the design. A guy I knew had them but he would not take them out of the packaging. I clearly wasn't thinking business back then. Good times.
As a kid growing up in the Philippines and only seeing tape delays of months-old WWF footage before cable came around in '92, the only toys that were sold here were Series 2-7. I never saw a Series 1 toy until I went to Clark (the old US Air Force base) where servicemen were selling their kids' toys hoping to make a bit of money before moving back Stateside. Those toys were my childhood. I never saw Series 8-11 toys in all the toy stores in Metro Manila, only in the WWF magazines.

Had like 15 figures in 93 before i went the first time to toys are us in germany. They even had the blue ring which i didn’t know existed. Best day of my life
My parents got me the blue ring and most of the series 1 figures for Christmas in 1990. That was my favorite toy for quite a while and was collecting some of the series 2 and 3 figures after that. 2:14 Wow, I've never seen a direct comparison before but the series 1 Macho Man looks way more realistic and detailed than the series 2 version. And who can say no to the iconic "HULK RULES" shirt on the series 1 Hogan figure?
I'm 41 yrs old and still have all my hasbro figures. Lol the first one I ever bought was Jake the Snake Roberts w/ his snake. I would create my own wrestlemanias and even created my own magazines for my figures. Fun times.
I had only had 4 of the big rubber WWF figures, my mom said they cost to much. I did have a boat load of the AWA and NWA figures, those came 2 in a pack and I was able to get the Road Warriors. Great video, nice trip down memory lane.
Great video. I used to go to "Children's Palace' with my mom on weekends and so I would be good she would get me one of these. Did you highlight Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich? I had that one and I didn't see you mention it...
I got LOD and the Nasty Boys for Christmas but with a WCW ring with the popping turnbuckle and cage to add on. Over the years I got about 90% of them and still have them.
Thanks a lot. Awesome Video. I used to have lots of these when I was a kid. In my early 30s I spent thousands of €s on MISB M.A.S.K. Figures and Vehicles - finally selling them all on eBay as I figured: childhood is over and no material objects will bring that time back. Still I love seeing awesome collections and Collector Videos - so keep up the great work.
Back in the day I had most of them. It's quite weird they used the same body shape for Rick Rude, 123 Kid und Ric Flair. Those were impossible to play with.
I agree but others were a bit harder to play with considering you had wrestlers with hats molded to their heads or in odd poses. I mean LOD wearing their shoulder pads looked cool but of course in a match they wouldn't wear them.
Hasbro were pretty on the ball when Rhythm and Blues split. They just released Honky Tonk Man as a single, and held Valentine over to the next series, with the same action feature as intended, but a retooled figure with his more recognizable look.
4:10 I remember my dad taking me to a local toy store in the early 90's and letting me choose a toy. My choice was the Series 4 Untertaker figure. My first and only wrestling action figure.
I played with these wrestling figures everyday, and long after the series ended, and I had a great fricking time...💯✔ Bret Hart was my favorite wrestler...👍🏼

Thank you for making this video it brought me back to my my love of pro wrestling figures
I'm 41 yrs old and still have all my hasbro figures. Lol the first one I ever bought was Jake the Snake Roberts w/ his snake. I would create my own wrestlemanias and even created my own magazines for my figures. Fun times.
Really excellent video!
Always wondered why the Purple trunk Ultimate Warrior was unusually thick, didn’t consider he was stuffed with mechanics!
Bring back some great memories,im starting to collect again but have a very long way to go😣
Very nice, informative video. Thank you !!!
I'm about 70% done with my loose Hasbro collection, I'll be back here when I hit 100%!
Good luck!
What figures you looking for? Yellow ring too?
I had only had 4 of the big rubber WWF figures, my mom said they cost to much. I did have a boat load of the AWA and NWA figures, those came 2 in a pack and I was able to get the Road Warriors. Great video, nice trip down memory lane.
The Nasty boys may have been the most realistic looking. Plus great play pose for figures.
Great video. I used to go to "Children's Palace' with my mom on weekends and so I would be good she would get me one of these.
Did you highlight Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich? I had that one and I didn't see you mention it...
3:22 for Texas Tornado
I had a bunch of them from the '90 and '91 series. Always wanted the Earthquake and Undertaker ones, oh well.
Thank you!!
The 2nd Hulk Hogan and the Mail away Hulk Hogan and the white trunks Ultimate Warrior are my favorites.
Aw man memories. Remember my dad would take me and my brothers to Buxton indoor market to buy these. Some were impossible to find
I still have a few, but I still have about 25 or more of my LJN classics.
That's what I grew up with.
Awesome video. I really wish I still had mine from back in the day. :/
These are just iconic.
Great Video! Covers everything Hasbro!
These were my favorite toys growing up
Memories unlocked
Awesome video, I love those hasbro figures
Good times! Thanks for posting this
Great video man that was a nice stroll down memory lane 👍😎
You said it wrong. Its El Matador CHICO SANTANA!
"Macho Man" Randy Savage's 2nd 2 figures have outdated atire, as Savage had switched to tights by the time the figures were made.
Pretty certain Sid was the first to have a Hasbro and a Galoob :P
Touche'...

Thanks mate, a little trip from past time paradise....cheers
Went to a antique store and found three of the old retro figures and wanted to buy them so bad.
I'm in the time machine right now awe man this vid is triggering good memories
I had a load of these WWF figures and then my mom bought me the WCW ring... But I was happy because the WCW ring was awesome
Oh and by the way this was a great video man keep up the great work my friend
Very cool , I was always confused about release , I collect these
Hasbro were pretty on the ball when Rhythm and Blues split.
