My 1st car in 1988 was a 1978 Mk1 Golf LS which had a Scirocco Storm engine. Standard brakes and suspension. I was a kid really at only 18 but that car fuelled my passion for driving fast but with a degree of caution. This vid car and drive is sublime. Thanks for sharing it Misha.
Suspension looked to firm for the ring ? Maybe set softer could of gone faster.

Martijn Nijs Exactly, sub-9 minutes in a tricked up 1980s FWD hot hatch. I'm thinking some of the lines he was taking were simply because he's wrestling with huge amounts of torque steer. And here and there the engine note clues point at wheelspin. Impressive driving, by my book. And that line he took into Adenaur Forst was him trying not to collect that biker who was all wrong. No fun collecting bikers. Ric

ein super Ur- GTI - Breitbau. Lecker. Was mir aber auffällt- auch beim Flying Dutchman - GTI 1. Das Auto ist heftig am schaukeln und rütteln. Das kenne ich von anderen Nürburgring - Vids mit anderen ring-tools nicht. Hab auch meinen eigenen GTI 1 aus den 80ern nicht so in Erinnerung.

Fender flares not widebody. Widebody you widen hood and bumpers as well with the fenders maybe, where as fender flares are just widened fenders, just an a little fact. Very clean vw, i love it and the look!
I'm interested in that white Astra, despite having 350 hp in such a light car, you were left behind like it's nothing, very strange for an Opel to be so fast :)

These VW engines REALLY aren't good at making power. So I will be surprised if it's anywhere near that figure in real life
No Grip you're an idiot, these engines (if from an tt or audi s3) are capable of 330hp with only a tune and exhaust, and thats from an 1.8. please never say something stupid like that again.
If you're talking about the BAM engine, surely you should add injectors, rods, pistons, turbo, front mount, fuel pump to your tiny list? I am happy to be proven wrong if you can find ANYWHERE online them making that with an exhaust and remap
He probably would have gone faster had the windshield been cleaned so that he could see.
they are bugs because hes been driving fast. thats what my windshield looks like after an hour on the highway.

The car is much too hard set ... in the karusell thinks the car falls apart just as bad as the wiggle .... nochdazu it looks as if the car drives very restless which is probably due to the hard setting

Why do people always install these hood latches instead of using the original mechanism?
Simon Dobrev when you install an aftermarket hood, you have to for insurance reasons. the oem latch is not good enough and the hood could fly up
Stops bonnet lift at high speed, which in turn stops the mechanism breaking.
