Hey Wizez, what can you tell us about Sorenson? What I am being told is he has a completely different approach than his predecessors, are we planning on switching up our defensive scheme this year. It seems like we picked up scheme specific ballers on defense.
Also, Green seems perfect for our secondary, but I am curious if the defense will be willing to use rookies more than how Kyle usually runs it.

So far with sorensen, it seems more like a return to how Ryans coaches the defense. It seems like he has a better understanding of the defense SF has been running than Wilks did learning along the way. With that being said he’s mixed in some interesting blitzes. And players seem locked in to his approach
As far as players, I think what’s happening is Kyle and the staff have a more refined idea of player they are looking for at each position.

Nick Sorenson was also part of the special teams coach during the Legion of Boom of the Seattle Seahawks during Pete Carroll regime beginning in 2013. He was also the defensive coordinator during the latter years of the lob from 2017 - 2020. Overall I Believe Sorensen will run the cover 4-3 defensive scheme on going back to the basics
